Abstract

The current mathematical learning model demands a standardized process that can promote various learning abilities, one of which is the ability to understand mathematical concepts. After a survey was conducted in one of the schools in the Motoling sub-district, namely SMA Negeri 1 Motoling, it turned out that a problem was found during the covid-19 pandemic, namely the lack of understanding of students' mathematical concepts in matrix material which can be seen from the results of student tests on matrix material, it is suspected that this problem is caused by learning models that are less precise and varied to be used in this pandemic period because students tend to learn online and offline, so a learning model is needed in this case. Based on this, experimental research was conducted to determine the differences in students' mathematical concept understanding abilities between classes taught using the flipped classroom model and classes taught using traditional learning models. The selected research subjects were 2 homogeneous classes, with the number of students in the experimental class being 30 people and the number of students in the control class being 30 people. The results showed that the average ability to understand mathematical concepts of students who were taught using the flipped classroom model was 88.3 while students who were taught using the traditional model were 66.07. Based on the results of testing the research hypothesis using the t-test, it can be concluded that the ability to understand students' mathematical concepts in the matrix material of students who are taught using the flipped classroom learning model is more than students who are taught using the traditional (conventional) model.

Abstract

Learning activities are not as usual due to the Covid-19 pandemic. With several reasons that become shortcomings and limitations for carrying out teaching and learning, the handling of this pandemic makes students have to study online. This study was conducted to determine whether there were differences in student outcomes in online and offline SPLDV materials during the new order. The data for this study used samples from class VIIIA and B of SMP Negeri 4 Tondano. The instrument used is an essay test which is carried out online and offline at different times and places and documentation. From the data analysis of the research results, the average posttest results obtained by the experimental class was 80.46 while for the control class it was 76.26. Based on the results of hypothesis testing using the t-test at the real level =0.05, it was obtained tcount=1,757 and ttable=t((0,05.45))=1,679. Because thitung=1,757 and ttabel=t((0,05.45))=1,679 the statistic value falls in the critical area, so reject H0 and accept H1. It can be concluded that there are differences in student learning outcomes in the SPLDV material which is carried out online and offline.

Abstract

Research on learning the limit of algebraic functions is carried out using the PIMCA model. This study aims to find out how to improve student learning outcomes in learning the limit of algebraic functions with an exhibition integrated group discussion strategy with the PIMCA model. PIMCA (Presentation, Idea Mapping, Conceptualization, and Assessment Formative) which was introduced and developed by Cosmas Poluakan. This research was conducted at the Department of Mathematics Education, Manado State University, with 21 students as respondents. From the results of data analysis, the average value of the pretest was 12.57 and the average value of the posttest was 58.57. The increase in concept understanding from Idea Mapping to Concept Maps increased by 80.71%. Student skills at the time of presentation, mastery of the material and problem solving where the average student has received a very good assessment. There is an increase in student learning outcomes. The PIMCA learning model can help students understand the correct mathematical concepts. The PIMCA learning model is a new learning model that can be used as an alternative learning model in the STEM field.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mendeskripsikan kesalahan peserta didik dalam menyelesaikan soal materi bentuk akar berdasarkan teori Newman. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Metode pengambilan data yang digunakan adalah tes dan wawancara. Tes tertulis diberikan kepada peserta didik secara daring terdiri dari 10 soal, kemudian dilakukan wawancara yang dipilih berdasarkan jenis kesalahan yang berbeda. Tahapan analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini  adalah mengidentifikasi data kesalahan menurut teori newman, menunjukkan jenis kesalahan dan mengambil kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kesalahan yang paling sering terjadi adalah  kesalahan penentuan jawaban akhir dengan persentase sebesar 21,70%, kesalahan proses penyelesaian yaitu sebesar 13,69% setelah itu kesalahan transformasi sebesar 8,01%. Peserta didik masih salah dalam membaca soal  yang diberikan, kemudian tidak menangkap informasi dengan benar pada soal atau salah menetapkan yang diketahui pada soal dan adapun kesalahan yang sering terjadi saat menentukan jawaban akhir yaitu  salah pada tahap menyederhanakan bentuk akar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini diambil dari masalah yang ditemukan pada saat melakukan observasi di SMP Negeri 6 Tondano yaitu kurangnya minat dan keaktifan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran matematika khususnya pada materi lingkaran. Hal ini disebabkan karena penggunaan model pembelajaran yang tidak menarik ditambah dengan kurangnya penggunaan media pembelajaran dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning berbasis Adobe Flash yang valid, praktis dan efektif agar dapat diterapkan sebagai media pembelajaran matematika pada materi lingkaran. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan (Development Research) yang mengacu pada model pengembangan ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implemantation, and Evaluation) sedangkan penelitiam yang akan dilakukan kepada siswa menggunakan Post-test Only Control Group Design. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh dari pengembangan media pembelajaran berbasis Adobe Flash dinyatakan valid berdasarkan penilaian ahli materi dan ahli media dengan rata-rata 3,67 untuk penilaian dari ahli materi dan 3,78 untuk penilaian dari ahli media dengan kategori sangat valid. Untuk kepraktisan media dilihat dari respon positif siswa dengan persentase 95% dan berdasarkan analisis hasil data angket respon guru dengan rata-rata 3,87 dengan kategori praktis dan untuk kefektifan media dilihat dari hasil perhitungan dengan uji t diperoleh nilai  = 8.72337708 dan  =  karena  maka tolak  artinya rata-rata hasil belajar siswa yang diajarkan dengan media pembelajaran lebih tinggi dengan demikian media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan dikategorikan valid, prektis dan efektif.Kata kunci: pengembangan, media pembelajaran, Problem Based Learning, Adobe Flash, lingkaran

Abstract

This research aims to determine the utilization of information technology in mathematics learning in Class VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Parigi Selatan. This is a case study that describes an actual situation. In collecting data, the researcher used data collection procedures through interviews with informants, who, in this case, were students, as the source of data and information. Qualitative data analysis in this research uses the SWOT analysis method, which systematically identifies various factors to formulate company strategies. This analysis is based on the logic that can maximize strengths and opportunities while minimizing weaknesses and threats. Then, identify the types of errors and conclude. From the strengths perspective, the results indicate that implementing online learning allows learning resources to be easily accessed online. From the perspective of weaknesses, an unstable internet connection affects students' focus on learning and teaching. From the perspective of opportunities, online learning enhances students' self-learning skills and provides new insights into technology and learning. Finally, from the perspective of threats, students' learning motivation decreases.

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is an acute febrile illness caused by the dengue virus. This virus belongs to group B arthropod-borne viruses (Arboviroses) of the genus Flavivirus, which has four serotypes, namely Dengue I, Dengue II, Dengue III, and Dengue IV. Dengue virus is transmitted by Aedes sp. The SEIR model studied places the Aedes albopictus mosquito as the main vector. Many DHF cases are caused by this mosquito because it has a larger coverage area and is more difficult to control. All Aedes mosquito species have four life stages, namely: (1) egg, (2) larva, (3) pupa, and (4) adult. A stage-structured model was chosen because Ae. albopictus has varying rates of development and mortality at different stages. This model study includes determining the fixed point, determining the basic reproduction number R0, analyzing the stability of the fixed point, and simulating the population dynamics of dengue virus transmission. This model indicates the presence of endemics in an area for certain parameter values. This model produces a disease-free equilibrium, or DFE, which will be stable when R0 < 1, otherwise unstable when R0 > 1. The dynamic results for each human population (susceptible, exposed, infected, and cured) through observations in numerical simulations are influenced by the selection of the R0 value. The value of R0 is influenced by the mosquito death rate parameter and the average bite rate of infected mosquitoes. Population dynamics simulations show that an increase in the death rate of mosquitoes will reduce the number of humans exposed to them. In addition, an increase in the average number of infected mosquito bites will increase the number of humans exposed. Changes in the number of humans in each population tend to be different for each increase in the mosquito mortality rate or for each increase in the average number of infected mosquito bites.

Abstract

In accordance with the problem formulation, namely the evaluation carried out by students when solving mathematics problems and the aim is to see how effective the application of the scientific approach with the Polya Heuristic stages is to problems. Solving mathematics problems for students uses descriptive qualitative research based on research findings in classes VIIA and VIIB of SMP Negeri 2 Tompaso about analyzing students' ability to answer mathematics questions using a scientific approach with polya heuristic steps. In general, it shows the existence of factors or obstacles that influence class VII students at SMP Negeri 2 Tompaso when working on mathematics questions given by their teacher. This is shown by children's complaints about mathematics subjects which they say are very difficult and cannot be understood well so that they have no interest or interest in mathematics subjects and as a result they are unable to do the mathematics problems given during observations at school. and taking part in the teaching process for almost a month, it can be seen that students at SMP Negeri 2 Tompaso are more interested in other subjects than mathematics because their interest is lacking, and there are still students who cannot read and dictate questions so that is also a mistake. one of their obstacles in working on math problems. Their abilities can also be analyzed using the benchmark questions that have been given, they may almost be able to solve easy questions but not quite long story questions because they prefer to make up or look at the answers from their classmates for the reason that they are too lazy to read the good questions. long. So it can also be concluded that many students at SMP Negeri 2 who are in class VII A and B. Tompaso lack literacy due to a lack of interest in reading questions or introductory books that have been facilitated by the school, so this could be an obstacle for them in solving questions because of their lack of interest in literacy.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to analyze the disparities in the mean learning achievements between students who utilize the SOLE learning model and those who employ the direct learning model for arithmetic sequence material at Tondano State Vocational School. The research employed a quasi-experimental design with a Posttest Only Control Group Design. The participants in this study consisted of students from class X OTKP 1, who were assigned to the experimental group, and students from class X OTKP 2, who were assigned to the control group. The data gathering method involved administering a technical learning outcomes test at the conclusion of the class (Posttest). The data analysis technique employed in this research utilizes tests on data that has undergone normality and homogeneity testing. The t test calculations yielded a t_count value of 2.736, which exceeded the critical t_table value of 1.685. Therefore, the null hypothesis (H_0) was rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (H_1) was accepted. Therefore, it can be inferred that there is a disparity in the mean learning results of students in the Self-Organized Learning Environment (SOLE) instructional approach and the traditional direct learning approach when it comes to arithmetic sequence material.

Abstract

This research aims to find out that the average learning outcomes of students who study using the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model are higher than the average learning outcomes of students who study using the Direct Instruction (DI) learning model. The population of this study were all class VII students at Garuda Manado Middle School. The samples taken in this research were class VIIA as the experimental class and class VIIB as the control class. Data analysis to test the hypothesis that the average learning outcomes of students studying algebraic material who studied using the TPS learning model were higher than the average learning outcomes of students who studied using the DI learning model, was carried out using the t-test with a significance level of α = 0.05. The value obtained is t_count  = 3.75 > t_table = 1,729, thus it can be concluded that the average learning outcomes of students who study using the TPS learning model are higher than the average learning outcomes of students who study using using the DI learning model
