Abstract

In Software Defined Network (SDN), interference is a common occurrence. These disruptions cause communication failures between networks. One of the disruptions that can occur is link failure, a situation where a link in the network is down or inactive. For this reason, a high availability system is required. The implementation of high availability in SDN involves the use of mechanisms such as failover. To compare the performance of the failover mechanism on the Ryu and ONOS controllers, this study conducted a scenario of breaking the shortest path between the host and the server using the two controllers. Tests were conducted by measuring downtime, response time, and packet loss. The results obtained from this study are that the Ryu controller is down for 15,753 milliseconds, while the ONOS controller is not. The network response time using the ONOS controller is faster, with an average of 4.5222 milliseconds, compared to the Ryu controller which is 112.797 milliseconds. In addition, the average packet loss using the ONOS controller is greater at 1.44% percent, compared to the Ryu controller which is 0.762%

Abstract

Making schedules at SMAN 2 Purwakarta requires extra effort due to the large number of classes and teachers. The current scheduling system uses two different software namely Asc Timetables and Microsoft Excel. The use of both software is inefficient and error-prone. The two software cannot be connected to each other so that the creation of schedules must be separate and requires a lot of time in synchronization which has an impact on the quality of learning obtained by students. To overcome this problem, an integrated scheduling system is needed that can work automatically and efficiently in one system. This research aims to create a scheduling system that is made automatically with optimization methods. One of the optimization methods is Genetic Algorithm and Differential Evolution. The terminology used is the initial population, calculate fitness, selection, crossover, mutation and iteration. So that the implementation of the system in this study uses a genetic algorithm with a differential evolution mutation process. The method used is using the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with a waterfall development model. The results of the application of the genetic algorithm with the differential evolution mutation process show that the schedule generation meets the limitations for more optimal results. The limitation is that there should be no schedule clashes between teachers in the same hours and days. Based on the test results using SUS, the system gets a score from the SUS calculation which is 69.1. From this score get the weight of the SUS Grade Scale score “B” and Adjective Rating “Good”. So that it requires further development on the system. However, with this category the system is feasible to use if based on SUS testing.

Abstract

High-quality images are crucial for navigation, obstacle detection, and environmental understanding, but transmitting high-resolution images over constrained networks presents significant challenges. This study introduces an image transmission system using super-resolution convolutional neural networks (SRCNN) to enhance image quality without increasing bandwidth requirements by transmitting low-resolution images and upscaling them with SRCNN. The first phase of the research involved data collection, in which information was acquired directly from an appropriate locus to produce training, validation, and testing datasets. The second, three SRCNN models (915, 935, and 955) were trained using such a training dataset. The last was an evaluation, in which model 915 showed quick learning and stable performance with initial high loss, while model 935 had rapid convergence but potential overfitting. Model 955 achieved high initial performance. Three SRCNN model configurations were tailored to the specific needs of autonomous electric vehicles operating in limited areas, such as the locus. Input image resolution ranged from 128×128 pixels to 256×256 pixels, while output resolution varied from 256×256 pixels to 512×512 pixels. These resolutions can be acceptable for efficient image transmission over IEEE 802.11ac, but on the long range (LoRa) network, it still produces some delay.

Abstract

Currently, people are often unaware of the existence of hotspots or gas leaks in the house which can trigger large fires in the house. Therefore, this research focuses on designing a fire monitoring and extinguishing system that can detect early IoT-based fires using the SIM800L GSM module on unmanned vehicles to detect fires and immediately extinguish them, accompanied by sending emergency messages via the SMS application on smartphones. As a warning, a fire has been detected in the house so that people can be more alert. In addition, this system is designed so that the vehicle can be controlled remotely using the HC-06 Bluetooth module and Bluetooth RC Car. This early fire detection process will be tested 30 times, each sample will be tested for the time speed obtained in detecting and extinguishing a fire. Thus, this system has the potential to prevent fires which can cause major losses.

Abstract

The increasing frequency of cyberattacks, particularly Denial of Service (DoS) attacks, poses significant challenges to the availability of online services. Multi-target DoS attacks exacerbate this issue by simultaneously targeting multiple systems, requiring robust and automated mitigation strategies. This study evaluates the effectiveness of Wazuh Active Response, an open-source Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solution, in mitigating multi-target DoS attacks using the Slowloris technique. The methodology involved simulating multi-target DoS attacks using `slowhttptest` against multiple target servers and configuring Wazuh Active Response to automatically block malicious IP addresses upon detection. Key metrics measured included Success Rate, Response Time Detection, and Response Time Blocking. The results showed a Success Rate of 100% with Active Response enabled, an average Response Time Detection of 10.36 seconds, and an average Response Time Blocking of 50.36 seconds. This study confirms that Wazuh Active Response effectively mitigates multi-target DoS attacks, ensuring a high success rate in blocking malicious IP addresses and demonstrating the potential of automated threat detection and response mechanisms in enhancing network security against complex attack scenarios.

Abstract

Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks (VANET) represent a crucial innovation in transportation technology, enabling vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communication. However, VANET faces challenges such as signal fluctuations, data security issues, and high mobility, which affect network reliability. This study aims to optimize connectivity and network management in VANET using the Strongest-Signal-First (SSF) method supported by Software-Defined Networking (SDN). The research was conducted through simulations using Mininet-WiFi. The system was designed with two vehicles and four access points to evaluate the performance of the SSF method, focusing on quality of service (QoS) parameters such as data transfer, jitter, packet loss, and bandwidth. Data were collected over a 30-second simulation under varying bandwidth conditions. The results demonstrate that the SSF method effectively maintains communication reliability, achieving a maximum packet loss of only 0.05% and an average data transfer rate of 285 – 324 kB. However, the effects of fading and network dynamics caused fluctuations in minimum transfer rates (102 – 114 kB) and jitter (0.1 – 1.0 ms), particularly at lower bandwidths. The SSF method has proven to enhance communication stability in VANET. Nevertheless, challenges such as fading and high mobility require additional mechanisms to further improve network performance in dynamic environments.
