Abstract

The assessment process carried out by lecturers for students still uses previous utilization procedures, such as processing grades with Microsoft Excel, so it is less effective. This research aims to analyze system-based student assessments based on the perspective of learning motivation and the influence of system use. This type of research is quantitative research. The total research population is 100 students. The research sample was 55 students using random sampling techniques. The data collection method uses a questionnaire. The data collection instrument is a questionnaire sheet. The technique used to analyze the data is inferential statistics with Pearson correlation calculations used to analyze the relationship between the two variables. The analysis results show a strong positive correlation between learning motivation and the effect of using the assessment system. The correlation value is close to perfect, indicating that the higher the student's learning motivation, the greater the positive effect of using the assessment system on learning outcomes. These significant results emphasize the importance of a transparent assessment system in increasing student learning motivation. Students who clearly understand how assessments are carried out and how grades are assigned tend to be more motivated to achieve higher academic achievements. The contribution of this research is that innovation in the development and improvement of technology-based assessment systems is very relevant in supporting the achievement of better learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study describes the relationship between motivation and student learning discipline towards learning outcomes in the lathe subject. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between motivation and learning discipline towards learning outcomes in the lathe subject of class XI students of Mechanical Engineering at SMK Dhuafa Padang. Hypothesis testing in this study used a simple correlation test and multiple product moment correlation to determine the relationship between motivation and learning discipline variables with learning outcomes in the Lathe Subject. This study was conducted at SMK Dhuafa Padang, and the subjects were class XI students of Mechanical Engineering with a sample size of 21 students. The results of the research data analysis showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between learning motivation and learning discipline together towards learning outcomes in the Lathe Subject of Class XI Mechanical Engineering at SMK Dhuafa Padang. This is evidenced by the research data that rhitung> rtable, which is 0.535> 0.413 at a significance level of 5%. By recognizing the important relationship between learning motivation and academic achievement, educational institutions and educators can implement more efficient strategies to enhance students' enthusiasm for learning in order to achieve optimal learning achievement in mechanical engineering lessons.

Abstract

Work readiness among technology and vocational students is determined not only by mastery of technical competencies but also by soft skills that support adaptation, collaboration, and professionalism in the workplace. This study aims to analyze the level of soft skills, work readiness, and the relationship between the two among technology and vocational students at SMKS Semen Padang. This study used a descriptive quantitative approach with a correlational design. The research population consisted of students in Grades XI and XII, with a sample of 59 respondents selected using proportional random sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire that had been declared valid and reliable. Data analysis techniques included descriptive statistics, normality testing, linearity testing, and Pearson correlation analysis. The results show that students’ soft skills were in the very good category, with an average percentage of 81.94%. The most dominant aspect was creativity and problem solving, followed by teamwork, time management, leadership, work ethics, and communication. Students’ work readiness was in the very ready category, with a percentage of 85.63%. In addition, there was a very strong positive and significant relationship between soft skills and work readiness, with a Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.988 (p < 0.05). The conclusion of this study emphasizes that soft skills are strongly associated with vocational high school students’ readiness to enter the workforce. These findings imply the importance of strengthening learning based on soft skill development in vocational education so that graduates are better prepared to meet the demands of the workforce.
