Abstract

Introduction: Turnover intention has many negative impacts on hospitals. The purpose of this research was to analyze the relationship between organizational commitment, personal factors and burnout syndrome to turnover intention in nurses. Methods: A descriptive analytic with cross-sectional approach, the sample was 83 nurses in type C hospital in Lamongan based on a cluster random sampling. The variables were organizational commitment, personal factor, burnout syndrome and turnover intention. Organizational commitment was measured with a modified questionnaire from Meyer and Allan, personal factors measured using demographic questionnaire, Maslach Burnout Inventory for burnout syndrome and modified questionnaire from Chen and Francesco for turnover intention. Moreover, the analysis uses ordinal regression statistical and logistic regression. Results: The results showed that the commitment factor continuance (p = 0.001), normative commitment (p = 0.000), education (p = 0.024), emotional fatigue (p = 0.008) and attitude (p = 0.008) had a significant relationship with burnout syndrome. Emotional exhaustion has significant relationship with turnover intention after adjusted with depersonalization and self-achievement (p = 0.008). Conclusion: It can be concluded that nurses in the Type C hospital can be loyal to reduce the turnover number, and this can increase the health levels of Indonesian people.

Abstract

Introduction: Hospital atmosphere and managerial support during the COVID-19 pandemic are important factors in determining the quality of nursing care, however, support that is not provided properly can cause work stress, causing burnout syndrome which results in low quality of work. The purpose of this study was to explain the relationship between managerial support and hospital atmosphere with burnout syndrome of nurses at COVID-19 unit. Methods: The research design was correlational descriptive with a cross-sectional approach. A total of 64 nurses at COVID-19 unit at the referral hospital for COVID-19 patients in Surabaya who handle COVID-19 patients directly for at least 2 months and treat COVID-19 patients at least 1-2 patients every day in the isolation room were selected through a simple random sampling method. The variables in this study were managerial support, hospital atmosphere, and burnout syndrome. Perceived managerial support was measured by the Managerial Support Questionnaire, the Hospital Atmosphere Questionnaire for perceived hospital atmosphere, and the Maslach Burnout Inventory to measure burnout syndrome. The results were analyzed by descriptive analysis and logistic regression test with a significance value of p≤ 0.05. Results: The results showed that there was a significant relationship between managerial support (p = 0.027) and hospital atmosphere (p = 0.026) with burnout syndrome. The relationship between managerial support and hospital atmosphere is negative. The higher the managerial support and hospital atmosphere, the lower the burnout syndrome level. Conclusion: High managerial support and a good hospital atmosphere can reduce burnout syndrome among nurses at COVID-19 unit. The results of this study are expected to be a reference for hospitals in preventing nurse burnout syndrome so that the quality of service increases.

Abstract

Introduction: : Response time is the handling speed calculated when the patients arrive at the hospital until they are treated. It is influenced by several factors according to Gibson Performance Theory. The research approach aimed to analyze individual factors including: skills, emergency training, gender, age, length of working, and education, organizational factors: rewards, and psychological factors: nurse motivation that influences the response time of the nurses in emergency departments at general hospitals in Madura. Methods: The research method used was a descriptive-analytic study with  a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique is total sampling, which is 101 nurses. Independent variables are skills, emergency training, gender, age, length of working, education, rewards, and motivation. Dependent variable is response time. Data were collected using a questionnaire and direct observations on nurses, data were analyzed using the Multiple Regression Logistic test. Results: The results show that there was no correlation between age (p= 0.996); education (p= 0.913); length of working (p= 0.921); training (p= 0.830); skill factor (p= 0.999); and motivation factors (p= 0.471) with response time. Whereas gender (p= 0.020); and reward factor (p = 0.020) were related with response time. Conclusion: In order to improve patients’ handling procedure, hospitals should give support  to nurses, like promotion or salary. Hospitals are expected to record documentations about the number of patients according to triage category and how fast nurses handle them because it may be an evaluation for rooms.

Abstract

Introduction: Pregnancy lead to changes in anatomical, physiological, and biochemical. Changes of it affect the nutritional needs of pregnancy. Knowledge and a bad attitude will affect the nutritional needs of pregnancy.  This research aims to know the affect of health promotion of the knowledge and attitude of mother in fulfillment of nutrition during pregnancy in Paberasan village. Method: The quasy experiment with pretest posttest control group design. The amount of pregnant in Paberasan village were 32 people. Analysis using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank test and Mann-Whitney. Result: The result showed that, the treatment group before given health promotion the majority have enough knowledge (81,25%). After given health promotion all of respondent have good knowledge (100%). The attitude of pregnant before given health promotion the majority have enough attitude (68,75%). After given health promotion the majority have good attitude (68,75%). In the control group before given health promotion the majority have knowledge enough (75%). The control group obtained the results of the knowledge tends to remain. The attitude of pregnant before given health promotion majority has enough attitude (62,50%). The control group obtained the result of the attitude tends to remain. Mann-Whitney test results obtained significant value p=0,000 less than 0.05. Attitude test results before and after treatment in the treatment group and the control group obtained significant value p = 0.001 less than 0.05. The results showed that there is effect of health promotion of the knowledge and attitudes of mothers in fulfillment of nutrition during pregnancy. Discussion: Health workers in Paberasan village to give health promotion about the fulfillment of nutrition during pregnancy to the community to help improve the knowledge of society and help realize the achievement of fulfillment of good nutrition during pregnancy. Keyword: Promotion, health, nutrition, pregnant, knowledge, attitudes, Paberasan, Sumenep

Abstract

Introduction: Burns is a form of trauma that often causes severe organ and tissue damage. Sleep disorders in children after burns are less studied so that they also affect wound healing, social development, behavior, and growth. The purpose of this research to explore research trends in sleep disorders in children with burns, from study design to data analysis.Method: This study used content analysis of a number of articles that have been published  in PubMed, EMBASE, CINAHL, Cochrane, Web of Science, Scopus, APAPsychInfo, and Clinicaltrials.gov from 2011 to 2022 with the main focus of sleep disorders research in burn patients.Results: Of the 1888 articles that have been found, 22 research articles have been selected. There were fluctuations in the number of publications on sleep disorders in burn patients from 2011 to 2022. The current study reveals that  in the past ten years, the number of publications focusing on sleep disorders in burn patients has increased.  The most research subjects were children who experienced sleep disorders due to burns. T-test is an analysis method that is often used.Conclusions: In light of the findings of this study, several recommendations have been put forward for future research that underlie research to reduce sleep disturbances in burn patients as a primary focus. Some of these recommendations include increasing the diversity of types of research that have not been done much and choosing more appropriate data analysis techniques.
