Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

The mention of Indonesia as a country whose main income is through agriculture, will at least give the impression that Indonesia is truly self-sufficient in food, in other words, it is independent in meeting the food needs of its people. But this is not in accordance with the existing reality. Until now, Indonesia is still dependent on food imports, especially rice commodities, which are still a fairly high order of imported foods. This study aims to analyze the mechanism of food diversification and communication channels built by the community and solve them by using an effective communication model approach. The purpose of this study is to create an effective communication model related to food diversification from rice consumption to tuber consumption. The theory used in the research, namely the Cultural Convergence Theory. This research method uses qualitative descriptive, discussing food diversification in Gunung Putri Village, Kec. Banjar, Kab. Pandeglang. The findings in this study, that the people of Gunung Putri Village, still have not implemented food diversification from consumption of rice to consumption of tubers. Abstract

When arrested by the authorities, celebrities always insist that they use drugs to work, just as users, just trying, because of the work environment, deliberately targeted by the police or BNN, police engineering, they are framed. Jefri Nichol was one of the celebrities who made such a statement. The purpose of the study was to assess the rationality of Jefri Nichol's drug-related narrative. The study used Walter R. Fisher's Narrative Paradigm and Barbara O'Keefe's Theory of Message-Making Logic. Methodologically, research is an interpretive paradigm with case study methods. The subject of his research was Jefri Nichol and his statements in the media as his object. The results of the study showed that Jefri Nichol's was inconsistent. Before the case, Jefri Nichol knew the negative impact of drugs on his life and career. After being caught in the narrative, drug use is just trial and error because of work. During the examination of the police, the court, and undergoing rehabilitation, Jefri Nichol produced a narrative of victimhood in which the final motive was the reduction of punishment, image, existence, and economy. Abstract

Communication in the effective implementation of modern retail policies in DKI Jakarta will reduce the problems that arise in the modern retail sector. Modern and traditional retail will actually need and complement each other. The purpose of this study is to determine the ongoing communication process and evaluation of communication, so that problems will not arise and repeat themselves. This study uses systems theory from Katherine Miller, where there are three system concepts, namely system components, system processes and system properties. The three system concepts are to find out how the process and evaluation of communication work. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study methodology. The communication process, both internal and external, is more of a procedure, so it is not yet fully an evaluation tool. Various communication evaluation efforts are more likely to be carried out to facilitate communication. The feedback process has not been responded well, so the resolution is still temporary. Based on the results of this study, the process and evaluation of communication in the implementation of modern retail needs to be prioritized on good message management. Feedback needs to be studied more deeply, especially in external communication. Feedback from retailers can be used as an evaluation of why the implementation is running as expected.

Abstract

Facing a new environment, the differences in values, culture, norms, language styles, and social behavior between the Alor and Sundanese have created a space for ethnogenesis that is faced with being able to adapt to each other in interacting and coexisting. Through the formation of communication and the process of adaptation, it is the starting point for the Alor people to improve the quality of life in terms of education, economy, social, politics and culture. This article aims to reflect on the process of interaction, communication interaction patterns and the process of adaptation of the Alor people to the Sundanese based on the Anxiety/Uncertainty Management Theory approach. Descriptive qualitative method by prioritizing the post-positivist paradigm was used on six purposive sample informants which were taken based on the Snowball sampling technique. This study shows that interaction occurs as an interest in realizing a harmonious life through verbal and non-verbal communication interaction patterns according to Sundanese cultural characteristics and the reflection of the adaptation process carried out is seen from three dimensions, namely cognitive, affective, and behavioral. Alor people learn language styles, values, manners, social behavior, prioritize indigenous culture, put aside personal culture, and promote good socialization by the Alor people towards the Sundanese.

Abstract

In the industry world, a successful business is highly dependent on effective globalization (Toomey, 1999:4). And effective globalization is linked with diverse workforce, workers who come from diverse cultural backgrounds. This opens up many opportunities, especially for high-skilled immigrants or expatriates, but at the same time it also provides room for uncertainty in how individuals construct their identities. This uncertainty may trigger tension between individuals in their daily interactions. This study aimed to determine how high-skilled immigrants carry out identity negotiation in a culturally diverse work environment. The framework of thought in this research was mainly Stella Ting-Toomey's theory of identity negotiation. The method used in this research was phenomenology. The primary data of this study were the results of interviews with employees in culturally diverse companies and were supported by secondary data in the form of direct observations at the research site. The main findings of this study include how the values of a culturally diverse company provide climate that supports the identity negotiation process among high-skilled immigrant individuals within it.
