Abstract

The purpose of this written research is to examine the impact of economic expansion, unemployment rates, and income inequality on the unemployment rate in Indonesia between 2015 and 2022. Secondary data used comes from various sources, including the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The data used in this written research covers the years 2015–2022, with most of the data coming from the Indonesian Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and related books and journals. Regions or places with the highest percentage values of unemployment variables in Indonesia were selected using purposive sampling techniques, documentation techniques, and library research methods. The dependent variable in this written research is unemployment, while the independent variables are economic growth, poverty, and income inequality. The panel data used in this written research is a combination of cross-sectional and time series data. The observation size of this study is 72 and covers nine provinces with high unemployment rates over a period of eight years, namely 2015 to 2022. The provinces with the highest unemployment rates are Aceh, Riau Islands, West Sumatra, Banten, DKI Jakarta, West Java, North Sulawesi, Maluku, and West Papua. In written research, the research hypothesis is tested using the panel data regression analysis method. The Cammon Effect Model is proven to be the most effective model for written research, according to the results of the analysis. From 2015 to 2022, income inequality has a positive but insignificant effect on unemployment, poverty has a positive but insignificant effect, and economic growth has a negative and significant effect on unemployment in Indonesia.

Abstract

Poverty is a complex social and economic problem. This poverty problem also occurs especially in urban areas, such as Semarang City, which acts as the capital city of Central Java Province and is the center of regional economic growth. Although this city has a strategic role, there are still a large number of people living below the poverty line. Poverty remains an issue that needs serious attention from various parties. This study aimed to analyze economic factors that affect the poverty rate in Semarang City for the period 2011-2023. The independent variables studied include the Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK), Human Development Index (HDI), and Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), with the poverty rate as the dependent variable. The analysis method used is multiple linear regression with the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) approach, using secondary data from the Central Statistics Agency. The study results show that TPAK has a positive coefficient and a significant effect on the poverty rate. HDI has a negative coefficient and significantly affects the poverty rate. GRDP has a positive coefficient and does not significantly affect the poverty rate. Based on these findings, the Semarang City Government should focus on improving the quality of human resources through education and skills training relevant to the labor market's needs. In addition, efforts are needed to ensure that economic growth can be enjoyed by all levels of society so that poverty reduction policies will be effectiveKata Kunci: angkatan kerja, ekonomi, kemiskinan, vokasional

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Regional spending plays a strategic role in supporting economic development. This study analyzes the factors influencing regional spending in regencies and cities in Central Java Province using panel regression with five variables: effectiveness ratio, population, government assistance, HDI, and economic growth. Data from 2015-2022 were sourced from BPS and The Ministry of Finance. Spatial data were visualized using GIS-based mapping to illustrate fiscal self-sufficiency across regions. The results show that population size, HDI, and government assistance significantly affect regional spending. While the effectiveness ratio and economic growth are not significant. Spatial reveal that cities such as Semarang, Magelang, and Surakarta demonstrate higher fiscal independence, while regencies like Brebes remain highly dependent on central transfers. These findings suggest that improving human development and increasing local revenue capacity, especially in less developed regencies, are key strategies to enhance fiscal independence and promote regional economic resilience.
