Abstract

Studies evidence links air pollution to increased risk of COVID-19 infection and severity during the pandemic. Nonetheless, those studies are unable to discuss specific pollutants, such as particulate matter, Sox, and NOx. This systematic literature review aimed to summarize the most recent studies on the links between pollutants and their effects on the respiratory system, in this case, mostly on COVID-19 patients. We searched using electronic databases (PubMed, Springer, ScienceDirect, and Sage) in May 2023. The keywords chosen were connected to respiratory diseases and air pollution. All relevant studies published in peer-reviewed journals between 2020 and 2023 and written in English were considered. We excluded letters and non-original articles. Relevant keywords were used to select papers. A total of 11 articles are eligible to be included in the present review study. It was reported that countries with a high prevalence of COVID-19 also have greater concentrations of surface air particles (PM10 and PM2.5) due to vehicle exhaust and industrial pollution. PM-virus aggregates spread easier across the lungs and the top respiratory system, facilitating viral attachment to the lung epithelium. This study found that tiny particles with an aerodynamic dimension fewer than 2.5 μm (PM2.5) or ten μm (PM10) have the most significant potential influence on the respiratory system compared to other pollutants.

Abstract

Hasil uji Two Way Anova kolom perlakuan nilai signifikasi sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 dan kolom dosis nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05. Penambahan tawas dan phosphate serta variasi dosis kedua bahan kimia yang diberikan dinyatakan berkontribusi secara signifikan terhadap penurunan pH limbah. Abstract PT X's liquid waste in March 2022 experienced an increase in pH to reach> 12, this figure has exceeded the quality standards regulated which is 6-9 due to equipment washing activities at PT X. This study aims to determine and compare the effect of using two chemicals, on the pH of PT X's wastewater. The research was conducted on October 4, 2022 at PT X. This type of research is true experimental with a non-equivalent control group design. With 4 repetitions and using the Paired T Test, Two Way Anova test, and Tukey test. The results of the paired T test obtained a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000<0.05, it was concluded that there was a significant difference between the pretest and posttest. The results of the Two Way Anova test in the treatment column have a significance value of 0.000<0.05. The addition of alum and phosphate as well as variations in the doses of the two chemicals given are stated to contribute significantly to reducing the pH of the waste.

Abstract

Background: Sleep disorders are disorders that refer to conditions that affect the quality, timing, or duration of sleep. Sleep disorders experienced by adolescents can contribute to medical problems and some mental health problems. There are around 73.7% of the population or the equivalent of 196.7 million internet users in Indonesia. One part of the internet that has influenced human life is online games. Objectives: to determine out the relationship between the duration of playing online games and sleep disturbances among Mardisiswa high school students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: This research uses the type of analytic observational research. This cross-sectional study involved 72 students at SMA Mardisiswa who took the sample using the proportional random sampling method. The data collection process was carried out by distributing questionnaires online using the Google form. The variables measured were the duration of playing online games and sleep disturbance variables using the PSQI questionnaire. To analyze the data, the Fisher test was used. The independent variable is the duration of playing online games and the dependent variable is sleep disturbance. Results: The results of the study show that there is a relationship between the duration of playing online games and sleep disturbances in students. This is shown by the results of the study using the Fisher test, namely p value (0.004) <α (0.05). PR value of 6.4 with 95% CI 1.82-22.53, indicating that students with a duration of playing online games two hours or more have a risk of sleep disturbance 6.4 times greater than students with duration of playing online games less than two hours. Conclusions: Research concludes that the duration of playing online games and sleep disturbances are related or related. Therefore, it is necessary to have data regarding sleep disturbances and supported by socialization regarding this matter to teachers, parents and students.

Abstract

Background: The proportion of people with asymptomatic infection likely varies with age because of the increasing prevalence of co-morbid conditions in older age groups (thus the risk of severe disease increases with increasing age), and because children are less likely than adults to show clinical symptoms. This means that children have a greater chance of not showing symptoms but can transmit COVID-19 to those closest to them, especially their families. This study aimed to develop a pop-up book as a medium for promoting COVID-19 health in grade 4 elementary school children. Indicators of success in the development if the media is said to be effective.Subjects and Method: This research is Research and Development (RnD) which was carried out in 6 elementary schools, Ternate, North Maluku. A total of 97 grade 4 students were selected in this study. The dependent variable is knowledge and attitude. The Independent Variable is the COVID-19 pop-up Book. Data was collected using a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using the t-test, and the improvement test using the N-Gain.Results: After health promotion interventions using a pop-up book for 4th grade elementary school, knowledge (Mean= 17.18; SD= 0.93) was higher than before (Mean= 16.06; SD= 1.76), the results statistically significant (p< 0.001). The attitude after intervention (Mean= 25.27; SD= 2.14) was higher than before (Mean= 20.12; SD= 3.53), the result also statistically significant (p< 0.001).Conclusion: The COVID-19 pop-up book media is effective for use as a media for health promotion. Keywords: development, pop-up books, COVID-19.Correspondence:Annisa Rizkiyah.
