Abstract

Drawing on an online meditation community mentored by Samanera Abhisarano in Indonesia, this study explores how the members use digital media to engage in religious practices and teachings. The data were collected through multisited digital ethnographic fieldwork conducted from December 2021 to July 2022. During this period, we immersed ourselves in the WhatsApp group and the Zoom virtual room of the community. In addition to participating in their online activities and interviewing five community members remotely, we conducted on-site fieldwork at the temple where the mentor lives and organized a face-to-face in-depth interview with him. Employing Hjarvard’s theory of mediatization of religion, we analyzed how Buddhist teaching and practices were mediatised through the intensive use of digital media in religious environments. We argue that digital media have, to some extent, transformed the routine of this community in terms of performing religious activities. The finding supports Hjarvard’s argument that mediatization of religion is a process in which the media have taken over some roles of religious authority and transformed the way society interacts with religion.

Abstract

ABSTRAKSalah satu unsur penyebab kebakaran adalah api. Berbagai sistem deteksi kebakaran digunakan untuk pengidraan seperti sensor tunggal non-visual. akan tetapi, kebanyakan sensor-sensor tersebut memiliki keterbatasan sensitifitas, missed detection dan false alarm. Oleh karena itu, kebenaran data diperlukan untuk mengetahui potensi kebakaran di sekitar area sensor. Pada penelitian ini, mikrokontroler digunakan untuk proses komputasi data berdasarkan sektor dari sensor UV, dimana metode scanning CW/CCW digunakan untuk mendapatkan hasil dari beberapa korelasi data. Hasil percobaan, sistem deteksi dengan metode CW-CCW dapat meningkatkan sensitifitas dan probablitas kebenaran 37,14 % dan 5,47 % untuk Δ𝜃 = 11,25o, dan 48,66 % dan 8,01 % untuk Δ𝜃 = 5,625o.Kata kunci: sistem deteksi kebakaran, missed detection, false alarm, sensor UV, metode scanning CW/CCW. ABSTRACTOne of the elements that cause fire is flame. Various fire detection systems are used for sensing such as a single non-visual sensor. however, most of these sensors have limited sensitivity, detection area, missed detection, and false alarms. Therefore, The correctness of the data is needed to determine the potential for fires around the sensor area. In this work, a microcontroller is used to process data computing based on the sector of the UV sensor, where the CW/CCW scanning method is used to obtain results from several data correlations. The results of the experiment, the detection system with the CW-CCW method can increase the sensitivity and probability of correct to 37.14% and 5.47% for Δ𝜃 = 11.25o, and 48.66 % and 8.01% for Δ𝜃 = 5.625o.Keywords: fire detection systems, missed detection, false alarm, UV sensor, CW/CCW scanning method.

Abstract

This research explores the impact of environmental and technical factors on air-to-ground (A2G) wireless communications using drones, specifically tackling challenges like multipath propagation, Doppler effects, and geographical variability. The study aims to analyze performance determinants of A2G communications, develop a simulation model to predict communication issues and offer recommendations for optimizing interactions between drones and ground stations. The methodology includes data collection from field tests and simulations, focusing on various environmental and weather conditions. Statistical data analysis, including regression and hypothesis testing, is employed to interpret the results. Key findings reveal that factors such as operational altitude, drone speed, and weather conditions—mainly rain—significantly affect throughput, latency, and packet loss. Optimal communication performance is achieved at a drone height of 120 meters, with rural environments offering the best conditions for data transmission. Conversely, urban settings experience decreased throughput and increased latency due to physical obstructions like buildings and infrastructure. These insights highlight the need for adaptive communication technologies and comprehensive testing across diverse conditions. The research advocates further exploring advanced antenna technologies, dynamic operational adjustments informed by real-time environmental data, and robust security measures to enhance communication reliability. In conclusion, this study establishes a strong foundation for future advancements in drone communication technologies, aiming to improve the safety and efficiency of drone operations across various applications. The findings serve as a roadmap for developing innovative solutions to address the inherent challenges of A2G communications in varying operational environments.

Abstract

Versatile video coding (VVC) has a notable increase in encoding efficiency over high efficiency video coding (HEVC) but bandwidth and storage are limited in real-world video applications, so rate control is crucial. Even if VVC shows a notable increase in encoding capacity over HEVC, the rate control may create fluctuations in video quality and computational complexity. This fluctuation can have a significant impact on the watching experience, particularly in low-bitrate settings. The rate control variables of the consistent resolution and the decreased resolution are proposed in order to make the rate control method hybrid to consistent resolutions and reduce computational complexity. To achieve optimal coding parameters, the frames with varying resolutions Lagrange multiplier (λ), skip coding tree unit (CTU) and quantization parameter (QP) are combined. After evaluation, the average encoding time savings (????????????????????????????) were found to be 19.49%, with a Bjontegaard delta bit rate (BDBR) of -0.44% indicating insignificant quality loss.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of price perception factors, product quality, customer satisfaction on repurchase intention. The variables studied were perceived price, product quality, customer satisfaction, and repurchase intention. The research respondents were 190 Shisaboss consumers in Surabaya, who were taken by purposive sampling method. The analysis used is PLS. The results showed that perceived price and product quality each had a significant positive effect on customer satisfaction and repurchase intention, and customer satisfaction also had a significant positive effect on repurchase intention. based on research findings, alternative strategies that can be implemented Ensure that prices are considered reasonable and in accordance with product quality. Offer packages, discounts, or bundles that are in line with the price to attract price-sensitive customers

Abstract

Keterbatasan akses internet di Desa Sedang, Kabupaten Pasuruan, yang menghambat masyarakat dalam mengakses informasi dan layanan digital yang semakin penting di era modern. Kondisi ini menciptakan kesenjangan digital yang berdampak pada peluang ekonomi, pendidikan, dan komunikasi masyarakat desa. Implementasi jaringan internet menjadi solusi untuk meningkatkan konektivitas dan mendukung perkembangan sosial ekonomi masyarakat setempat. Metode implementasi melibatkan pemasangan dua antena Mikrotik, yaitu antena transmitter dan receiver, untuk membangun jaringan internet yang dapat menjangkau masyarakat dengan biaya yang lebih terjangkau. Pengabdian ini mencakup proses perencanaan, instalasi, dan pengujian jaringan untuk memastikan kinerjanya sesuai dengan kebutuhan warga. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa jaringan internet desa yang diimplementasikan mampu meningkatkan konektivitas di wilayah tersebut, mempermudah akses masyarakat terhadap layanan digital, serta membuka peluang baru untuk pendidikan, bisnis, dan komunikasi. Kesimpulan dari pengabdian ini menegaskan bahwa implementasi jaringan internet desa dapat menjadi solusi efektif untuk mengatasi kesenjangan digital di daerah pedesaan dan mendukung perkembangan sosial ekonomi masyarakat setempat.

Abstract

UD Pia Tulip Merupakan Usaha Kecil dan Menengah (UKM) yang bergerak dalam industri makanan yang memproduksi Bakpia dengan jenis bakpia kering. UD Pia Tulip belum pernah  menghitung dan mengetahui produktivitas yang dicapai karena belum pernah melakukan analisa produktivitas, melainkan hanya mengevaluasi dari hasil penjualan bakpia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis tingkat produktivitas dengan metode Objective matrix (OMAX) serta memberikan usulan perbaikan pada produksi bakpia di UD Pia Tulip. Analisis produktivitas dilakukan pada periode April 2022 Sampai Maret 2023. Analisa data mengunakan metode OMAX, pembobotan kriteria menggunakan metode Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (FAHP). Kriteria yang diukur meliputi produktivitas bahan baku, energi listrik, jam mesin dan jam kerja.  Nilai indeks produktivitas tertinggi terdapat pada periode Desember 2023 sebesar 953,214%, nilai indeks produktivitas yang terendah pada periode Mei 2022 sebesar -70,873%. Usulan perbaikan untuk menghasilkan output sebanyak 27.792 buah bakpia, diperlukan bahan baku sebesar 595,931 kg, penggunaan energi listrik sebanyak 104 Kwh, untuk jam kerja dan jam mesin sudah memenuhi dan mencapai level 10

Abstract

This research aims to examine the impact of halal label on buying decision that is mediated by religiosity. Previous studies on these variables did not illustrate consistent findings. Therefore, this research is done to provide more empirical evidence by studying Skin Aqua, a Japanese skincare brand in Indonesia that has recently displayed a halal label on its new packaging. Utilising a survey method, the questionnaires were distributed to 100 respondents selected by using the purposive sampling technique. The path analysis technique was used to examine the hypotheses. The result indicates that halal labels cannot directly bring a significant influence on buying decisions, but religiosity does. Moreover, religiosity may strengthen the impact of halal labels on Indonesian Muslim consumers’ buying decisions, because the effect of Halal Label to Buying Decision is more significant in an indirect manner rather than the direct one.

Abstract

Journalism is ideally a secular practice. However, there are a number of press institutions associated with religious organizations in Indonesia, such as DAAI TV, which was established by the Yayasan Buddha Tzu Chi Indonesia. This research explores the role of Buddhist religious values in shaping journalistic practices at DAAI TV. The data were gathered using the ethnographic method through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and document analyses from August 2019 to April 2020. Implementing the framework of Buddhist-oriented journalism concepts introduced by Gunaratne (2009) and Pearson and Senarath (2015), this study indicates that DAAI TV has brought the notion of Buddhist journalism to life, despite the fact that not all of its journalists are Buddhists. In terms of ethics, DAAI TV actualized Buddhist journalism by incorporating sammā-vācā (right speech), sammā-kammanta (right action), and sammā-ājiva (right livelihood) into their journalistic practice.

Abstract

Desa Merjosari, Kota Malang adalah desa yang sedang berkembang terlebih lagi kegiatan karang taruna. Karang taruna desa Merjosari beberapa tahun yang lalu adalah salah satu dari penerima mesin las dari dana PKM Polinema yang mana mesin las tersebut sudah banyak digunakan untuk membuat pagar, tenda untuk masjid setempat dan portal. Setelah mendapat mesin las, para pemuda karang taruna tersebut ingin sekali untuk belajar desain gambar dengan AutoCAD sehingga dapat membuat beraneka desain untuk pagar. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian kepada masyarakat adalah mengadakan pelatihan dasar-dasar AutoCAD 2D dan 3D untuk para pemuda karang taruna RW 01 Desa Merjosari, Kota Malang dengan tetap mengikuti protokol kesehatan. Tim Polinema mengajarkan AutoCAD kepada karang taruna mulai dari awal karena tidak ada seorangpun dari anggota karang taruna yang bisa menggambar dengan AutoCAD. Dari hasil pelatihan menggambar 2D dan 3D dengan AutoCAD yang telah dilaksanakan, Para pemuda karang taruna telah dapat menggambar dengan AutoCAD 2D dan 3D yang tadinya tidak bisa sama sekali menjadi bisa menggambar desain dengan AutoCAD 2D dan 3D
