The findings reveal that; [1], gender is not a static category but something negotiated and shaped through actions and reinterpretation of identity in socio-religious contexts. It underscores the dynamic nature of activism, where hijab is reinterpreted not as a rigid religious mandate but as a fluid cultural mandate. [2], activists employ traditional and innovative markers to articulate their identities, challenging the hegemonic narrative imposed by religious and political authorities. The fact that Islamic identity coexists with modernity and inclusivity. In conclusion, this paper contributes to a nuanced understanding of the evolving roles of Muslim women activists.

Abstract

This qualitative research tried to look at the origin of Pundhen Telaga Serangan as the epistemology of Islamic studies and the systematic transformation process of local tradition into cultural identity. Pundhen, in Javanese philosophy, has sacred meaning and magical power. Indonesians have a unique way of honouring and respecting their history. One of them is by performing rituals. Ancestors carried out the oldest practice for generations, and it became a custom. This paper uses qualitative methods, where the data collection techniques include interviews, documentation, and data qualification. Moreover, the Sarangan community in Magetan Regency is the object of this study because they have experienced cultural transformation. J.G. Frazer and E.B. Taylor's animistic and magic theory become analytical tools in seeing the extent of the meaning of Pundhen ontologically and epistemologically. Furthermore, Rudolf Bultmann's hermeneutical approach will serve as a valuable addition to the comprehensive analysis of this research. The results section of this research paper shows that Pundhen Telaga Sarangan is a symbol of spirituality. It is a sacred place for the locals to establish interpersonal relationships with God, ancestors, and spirits (the others).

Abstract

The issue of revelation is one of the most important issues in the divine religions. In Islam the issue revelation is of central importance, as the revealed word of God, the Qur’ān, is in itself a miracle in its inimitability, a unique masterpiece of the divine message that cannot be replicated. Revelation is understood as communication from the unseen world above, whereby God issues His divine commands to humankind. The eminent Muslim philosophers Ibn Sina and Mulla Sadra discussed the concept of revelation in their works. Ibn Sina considered revelation as a specific sensory effect on the prophet’s consciousness, whereby the Angel of Revelation cast the divine words into the prophet’s heart. Mulla Sadra also considered revelation as a type of unseen form of communication, whereby the divine commands are shared with humankind. This article attempts to study the nature of revelation, the levels of revelation, and the manner of revelation from the point of view of Ibn Sina and Mulla Sadra through a descriptive-analytical method. Ibn Sina and Mulla Sadra, despite their differences in conceptualizing and explaining the process of revelation, agreed that the revealed message is from God directly, without the independent agency of the Angel of Revelation and the prophets, who only carry and receive the divine message, yet cannot alter it.

Abstract

The rise of digital technology has transformed how Muslims engage with religious discourse. Social media has become a contested space between Islamic moderation—emphasizing balance and tolerance—and transnational movements promoting purification and the caliphate. This article analyzes the role of Islamic moderation as a counter-narrative to transnational ideology within the digital sphere. Using a qualitative library research method, it examines academic literature and religious policy documents. Findings reveal that Salafism utilizes social media to construct an exclusive form of religious authority, whereas Islamic moderation reinforces al-wasathiyyah values through ethical and inclusive digital literacy. The study highlights the importance of synergy between the state, religious institutions, and society in strengthening digital moderation to preserve Indonesia’s peaceful and rahmatan lil-‘alamin Islamic identity. Keywords: Islamic Moderation, Transnationalism, Social Media
