Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika, self-efficacy siswa dan hubungan antara kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan self-efficacy siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri di Kabupaten Ciamis. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian survei. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 389 siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri di Kabupaten Ciamis yang berasal dari 13 sekolah dengan kategori strata tinggi, sedang dan rendah. Sampel dalam penelitian ini ditentukan dengan stratified proporsional random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 389 siswa yang dijadikan subjek penelitian memiliki kemampuan pemecahan masalah dalam kriteria rendah. Faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan keadaan tersebut diantaranya adalah siswa kurang memahami informasi pada soal, siswa kurang mampu membuat model matematis, dan siswa kurang teliti dalam menyelesiakan soal. Rata-rata self-efficacy siswa berada pada kriteria sedang, yaitu 91,17. Hubungan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika dan self-efficacy siswa termasuk kategori sangat rendah karena nilai r sebesar 0,104. An Analysis of Mathematics Problem Solving Ability and Self-Efficacy Students of Junior High School in Ciamis Regency AbstractThis study aims to describe the mathematics problem-solving ability, self-efficacy of students and the relationship between the problem solving and self-efficacy of the grade VIII students of the junior high school in Ciamis Regency. This study was categorized as survey research. The research subjects were 389 junior high school grade VIII in Ciamis Regency from 13 schools which were categorized as high, moderate and low schools. The research sample was selected by means of the stratified proportional random sampling technique. The results of the study are as follows, 389 students as the research subject have low criteria in problem-solving ability. Factors that cause this situation, such as students are less understanding of existing information on the problem, students are less able to make mathematical models, and students are less thorough in problem-solving. The average of students’ self-efficacy was at moderate criteria, 91.17. The relationship between problem-solving ability and self-efficacy of students was at very low criteria because of the r-value of 0.104.

Abstract

The study aims at describing the comparison between the Problem-Posing Approach and the Investigation Approach in terms of effectiveness from the perspective of Mathematical Problem-Solving Skills, mathematical motivation and Mathematical Learning Achievements. The nature of the study is a quasi-experimental research. During the conduct of the study, the overall number of populations was 206 students from Grade VII of the State 2 Junior High School Gamping. The samples within the study were selected randomly from the population namely 32 students from Grade VII A and 34 students from Grade VII B. Then, the instrument that had been administered within the conduct of the study was the Mathematical Problem-Solving Skills Test, the Mathematical Learning Achievement Test and the Mathematical Learning Motivation Questionnaire. After the data had been gathered, the overall data were analysed by using the one-sample t-test, the T2 Hotteling?s Test and the independent sample t-test. The results of the study show that the learning process by means of Investigation Approach has been more effective in comparison to Problem-Posing Approach from the perspective of Mathematical Problem-Solving Skills and Mathematical Learning Achievement but, on the other hand, the results of the study also show that the learning process by means of Problem-Posing Approach has been more effective in comparison to Investigation Approach from the perspective of Mathematical Learning Motivation for the Grade VII students of the State 2 Junior High School Gamping.

Abstract

In this paper, we propose a construction of fuzzy radial basis function neural network model for diagnosing prostate cancer. A fuzzy radial basis function neural network (fuzzy RBFNN) is a hybrid model of logical fuzzy and neural network. The fuzzy membership function of the fuzzy RBFNN model input is developed using the triangle function. The fuzzy C-means method is applied to estimate the center and the width parameters of the radial basis function. The weight estimation is performed by various ways to gain the most accurate model. A singular value decomposition (SVD) is exploited to address this process. As a comparison, we perform other ways including back propagation and global ridge regression. The study also promotes image preprocessing using high frequency emphasis filter (HFEF) and histogram equalization (HE) to enhance the quality of the prostate radiograph. The features of the textural image are extracted using the gray level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) and gray level run length matrix (GLRLM). The experiment results of fuzzy RBFNN are compared to those of RBFNN model. Generally, the performances of fuzzy RBFNN surpass the RBFNN in all accuracy calculation. In addition, the fuzzy RBFNN-SVD demonstrates the most accurate model for prostate cancer diagnosis.

Abstract

This study aims to discover the effect of e-learning media with guided discovery learning method of students’ self regulated  learning in mathematics. The study employed quasi-experimental method using two classes which are experiment and control class. The subject of this study are 79 eight grade students. The instrument used is self regulated learning questionnaire. The learning process of the experiment class implement only e-learning media with guided discovery method while the control class implement only guided discovery method. The result shows that students’ self regulated learning in the experiment class higher than the control class. It can be concluded that e-learning media with guided discovery method is effective based on students’ self regulated learning in mathematics.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan model pembelajaran Problem-Based Learning (PBL) untuk meningkatkan kemampuan investigasi dan ranah afektif yang valid, praktis dan efektif. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan menggunakan model pengembangan Borg Gall.  Subjek penelitian ini adalah 35 siswa  kelas VII SMP Negeri 6 Yogyakarta. Analisis data dilakukan dengan mengkonversi total skor aktual yang diperoleh menjadi data kualitatif skala lima. Produk yang dikembangkan, yaitu buku model pembelajaran PBL, RPP, lembar kerja (LK), tes prestasi belajar (TPB), dan tes kemampuan investigasi (TKI). Hasil validasi ahli, skor penilaian guru, tanggapan siswa, observasi pembelajaran, tes prestasi belajar, dan tes kemampuan investigasi menunjukkan bahwa buku model pembelajaran PBL, RPP, lembar kerja (LK), tes prestasi belajar (TPB), dan tes kemampuan investigasi (TKI) adalah valid, praktis, dan efektif. Dengan demikian, secara keseluruhan penelitian yang dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa produk yang dikembangkan layak untuk digunakan ditinjau dari aspek kevalidan, kepraktisan dan keefektifan.Kata Kunci: pengembangan model pembelajaran, problem based learning, kemampuan investigasi, ranah afektif Developing PBL Model on Mathematics Lesson to Enhance Investigation Skills and Affective Factor Of 7th Grade Students AbstractThis study aimed to develop Problem Based Learning (PBL) model which is valid, practical and effective for enhancing investigation skills and affective factor. This study was research and development which applied Borg and Gall development methodology. The subjects of this study were 35 grade 7 students of SMP N 6 Yogyakarta. The data analysis was done by converting the actual score into qualitative data with standard scale of five. The developed products were Problem Based Learning (PBL) Model book, lesson plan, worksheet, learning test, and investigation skill test. Based on the results of validation experts, teacher’s appraisal, students’ response, learning observation, learning test and investigation skill’s test, the developed products were valid, practical and effective. In general, this study has shown that the developed products were reliable to be used as they fulfill the valid, practical and effectiveness aspects.Keywords: learning model development, problem based learning, investigation skill, affective factor

Abstract

 Tujuan penelitian ini menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran sistem persamaan linear dua variabel menggunakan metode inkuiri yang valid, praktis, dan efektif ditinjau dari prestasi dan curiosity siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan. Model pengembangan diadaptasi dari model pengembangan Borg Gall. Pengembangan terdiri atas delapan tahap yaitu pengumpulan data, perencanaan, pengembangan produk awal, uji coba pendahuluan, revisi produk utama, uji coba utama, revisi produk akhir, dan diseminasi dan implementasi. Penelitian ini menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran sistem persamaan linear dua variabel menggunakan metode inkuiri yang meliputi silabus, RPP, LKS, dan tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masing-masing silabus, RPP, LKS dan tes valid, praktis, dan efektif. Valid menurut validasi ahli dengan kriteria sangat baik, praktis menurut penilaian guru, lembar penilaian siswa, dan lembar observasi pembelajaran dengan kriteria sangat baik dan efektif ditinjau dari prestasi, dengan 76,74%  siswa mencapai KKM serta efektif ditinjau dari curiosity, dengan 100% angket siswa minimal kategori baik.Kata Kunci: pengembangan, perangkat pembelajaran, sistem persamaan linear dua variabel, metode inkuiri. Developing Two-Variable Linear Equation Systems Teaching Package Using the Inquiry Method AbstractThe study aims to develop a two-variable linear equation systems teaching package using the inquiry method, which is valid, practical, and effective in terms of students’ achievement and curiosity. This study is developmental research, with model adapted from Borg Gall model. The development consists of eight phases data collecting, planning, developing the preliminary form of product, preliminary field testing, main product revision, main field testing, final product revision, and dissemination and implementation. This study has produced a two-variable linear equation systems teaching package using the inquiry method including a syllabus, lesson plan, worksheet, and test. The result of the study shows that each of the syllabus, lesson plan, worksheet, and test is valid, practical, and effective. They are valid according to experts’ judgment, in very good criteria; they are practical according to the teachers’ judgment, students’ judgment, and instruction observation sheet, in very good criteria; they are effective  in terms of achievement, where 76.74% student achieve the standard value and effective in terms of curiosity, where 100% of student questionnaire minimum score is in good criteria.Keywords: development, teaching package, two-variable linear equation systems, inquiry method

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: keefektifan pembelajaran matematika dengan pendekatan realistik; dan pembelajaran yang lebih efektif antara pendekatan realistik dengan pembelajaran konvensional ditinjau dari prestasi belajar, kemampuan pemecahan masalah, dan kepercayaan diri matematika siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu dengan desain kelompok kontrol pretes-postes beracak. Penelitian ini menggunakan satu kelompok eksperimen dan satu kelompok kontrol. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 3 Pandeglang. Sampel penelitian sebanyak dua kelas yang dipilih secara acak. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis dengan MANOVA, dan untuk mengetahui keefektifan pendekatan realistik menggunakan uji one sample t-test. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: pendekatan realistik efektif terhadap pembelajaran matematika ditinjau dari prestasi belajar dan kepercayaan diri matematika siswa namun tidak efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan pemecahan masalah; pendekatan realistik lebih efektif dari pembelajaran konvensional ditinjau dari prestai belajar, kemampuan pemecahan masalah, dan kepercayaan diri matematika siswa.Kata kunci: pendekatan realistik, prestasi belajar, kemampuan pemecahan  masalah, kepercayaan diri. The Effectiveness of Realistic Approach Based on Learning Achievement, Problem Solving Ability, and Mathematical Self Confidence AbstractThis study aims to describe: the effectiveness of teaching mathematics using realistic approach; and the more effective teaching between realistic approach and conventional teaching based on studens’ learning achievement, problem solving ability, and mathematical self-confidence. This research was a quasi experimental study employing a random pretest-posttest control group design. It involved one experimental group and one control group. The research population comprised nine classes of Year VIII student of SMP Negeri 3 Pandeglang. The sample consisted of two classes that were randomly established. The data were analysed by means of MANOVA, and to test the effectiveness of realistic approach using one sample t-test. The result of the study show that: realistic approach is effective in learning mathematics based on learning achievement and mathematical self confidence of student but not effective based on problem solving ability; realistic approach more effective than conventional learning based on learning achievement, problem solving ability and  mathematical self confidence of student.Keywords: realistic approach, learning achievement, problem solving ability, self-confidence.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran berupa Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) dan Lembar Kegiatan Siswa (LKS) menggunakan pendekatan inquiry berorientasi pada kemampuan berpikir kritis dan rasa ingin tahu siswa yang berkualitas berdasarkan aspek valid, praktis dan efektif. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengem­bangan ADDIE dengan tahapan analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Subjek penelitian adalah 32 siswa kelas XI MIA 3 SMA Negeri 1 Godean. Analisis data kevalidan dan kepraktisan dilakukan dengan mengkonversi skor aktual menjadi skor kualitatif. Analisis keefektifan dilakukan dengan menentukan persentase ketuntasan siswa pada tes kemampuan berpikir kritis dan rata-rata skor angket rasa ingin tahu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran menggunakan pendekatan inquiry yang berorientasi pada kemam­puan berpikir kritis dan rasa ingin tahu siswa telah memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis dan efektif. Developing a learning kit using an inquiry approach oriented to critical thinking skillAbstractThis study aimed to produce a learning kit using the inquiry approach oriented to students’ critical thinking skills and curiosity which has a good quality in the aspects of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. This study was research and development that used the ADDIE model, which includes the steps of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects were 32 of 11th-grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Godean (Senior High School), Province of Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The data of validity and practicality were analyzed by converting the actual score into qualitative data. The data of effectiveness were done by determining the percentage of student that passed the critical thinking skill tests and the mean scores of students' curiosity questionnaire. The results of this study were a teaching kit using the inquiry approach oriented to students' critical thinking skill and curiosity has met the criterion of valid, practical, and effective.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan multimedia pembelajaran matematika yang berkualitas baik dan layak untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran matematika dan mendeskripsikan seberapa baik kualitas perangkat pembelajaran matematika yang dihasilkan. Kriteria kualitas yang digunakan mengacu pada kriteria Nieveen, yaitu valid, praktis dan efektif. Materi yang dikembangkan adalah materi Logika Matematika. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan (Development research). Penelitian ini mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan model pengembangan yang diadaptasi dari model pengembangan Borg Gall. Tahap-tahap yang dilalui sampai diperoleh multimedia pembelajaran matematika yang valid, praktis dan efektif adalah analisis kebutuhan dan perumusan tujuan, desain/pengembangan produk, uji coba, revisi dan kajian produk akhir. Uji coba yang dilakukan meliputi ujicoba ahli/validasi ahli (expert judgement), uji coba kelompok kecil (small group try-out) dan uji coba lapangan (field try-out). Uji coba lapangan (field try-out) dilakukan pada dua kelas X di MA Nurul Ummah. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah lembar validasi, lembar penilaian guru, lembar penilaian siswa, angket motivasi dan tes hasil belajar. Penelitian ini menghasilkan multimedia pembelajaran matematika yang berkualitas dan layak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa multimedia pembelajaran matematika yang dikembangkan valid, praktis dan efektif.Kata Kunci: pengembangan, multimedia pembelajaran, matematika Developing Instructional Multimedia of Mathematics of Senior High School to Improve Motivation and Achievement of Mathematic Learning on the Topic of Mathematics Logical AbstractThis study aims at developing a quality and appropriate instructional multimedia of mathe-matics, and describing its quality. The quality criteria used refer to Nieveen criterion, namely valid, practical, and effective. The developed material is Mathematical Logic. This study is development research that develops the instructional multimedia of mathematics using the development model adapted from Borg Gall Model. The steps to get the valid, practical and effective instructional multimedia of mathematics are: need assessment and the formulation of purpose, product design, try-out, revision and final product review. The try out consists of expert judgement, small group try-out, and field try-out. The Field try-out was held at two year-ten classes of  MA Nurul Ummah. The research instruments were validation sheets, teacher assessment sheets, student assessment sheets, motivation sheets, and evaluation sheets. The study produces a quality and appropriate instructional multimedia of mathematics. The result of the study shows that the developed instructional multimedia of mathematics are valid, practical, and effective.Keywords: development, instructional multimedia, mathematics

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mendeskripsikan keefektifan pembelajaran dengan sumber belajar interaktif berbasis komputer (SBIBK) dan pembelajaran dengan buku sekolah elektronik (BSE); (2) Mengetahui apakah pembelajaran dengan SBIBK lebih efektif dibandingkan pembelajaran dengan BSE ditinjau dari motivasi dan prestasi belajar matematika. Populasi penelitian ini seluruh siswa kelas XI SMK Negeri 1 Alas, Kab. Sumbawa. Sampel ditentukan secara acak, yaitu kelas XI Multimedia menggunakan SBIBK, sedangkan XI Tekhnik Komputer Jaringan menggunakan BSE. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket motivasi dan tes prestasi belajar matematika. Uji keefektifan pembelajaran menggunakan one sample t test. Untuk mengetahui pembelajaran yang lebih efektif, digunakan uji independent samples t test dengan kriteria bonferroni. Hasil penelitian ini adalah: (1) pembelajaran dengan SBIBK efektif ditinjau dari motivasi dan prestasi belajar matematika; (2) pembelajaran dengan BSE efektif ditinjau dari prestasi belajar matematika, namun tidak efektif ditinjau dari motivasi belajar matematika; (3) Pembelajaran dengan SBIBK lebih efektif dibandingkan pembelajaran dengan BSE.Kata Kunci: pembelajaran, sumber belajar interaktif berbasis komputer, buku sekolah elektronik, motivasi, prestasi belajar matematika The Effectiveness of the Instruction with Computer-Based Interactive Learning Resources in Terms of Motivation and Mathematics Achievement AbstractThis study aims to describe: (1) the effectiveness of the instruction with computer-based interactive learning resources (CBILR) and the instruction with electronic textbooks (ETb), in terms of students’ motivation to learn mathematics and mathematics achievement; (2) whether the instruction with CBILR is more effective than instruction with ETb in terms of students’ motivation to learn mathematics and mathematics achievement.The research population comprised all Year XI students, consisting of nine classes of SMK Negeri 1 Alas Sumbawa. From the population, two classes, Class XI Multimedia (MM) and Class XI Computer Network Technology (CNT), were established as the research sample randomly. Class XI MM learned with the CBILR and Class XI CNT learned with ETb. The data collecting instruments consisted of questionnaires for students’ motivation to learn mathematics and a learning mathematics achievement test. To test the effectiveness of the instruction with CBLIR and instruction with ETb, the data were analyzed using the one sample t-test. The data were analyzed using the independent sample t tests with the bonferroni test criteria to determine the more effective learning resources.The results are as follows: (1) the instruction with CBILR is effective in terms of motivation and mathematics achievement; (2) the instruction with ETb is effective in terms of mathematics achievement, but it is not effective in terms of motivation to learn mathematics.
