Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of variations in the angle and distance of sandblasting on paint coating quality and corrosion properties of low carbon steel. The success of a coating is highly dependent on surface roughness, so sandblasting is needed to clean and create a surface roughness profile with the aim that the paint can coat the surface perfectly. The test method used in this research is the pull off test method for testing the adhesive strength of paint and open circuit potential (OCP) for testing the corrosion potential. The sandblasting variations used are angles of 45⁰, 60⁰, 75⁰ and nozzle distances of 15 cm, 35 and 50 cm. The tests carried out were roughness, paint thickness, paint adhesive strength and corrosion potential. From the test results it can be concluded that the greater the angle and the closer the sandblasting nozzle distance, the greater the surface roughness. The greater surface roughness affects the paint layer to be thicker and has a high paint adhesion strength, resulting in a smaller corrosion potential. In this study, the highest test results were obtained at an angle of 75⁰ and a distance of 15 cm with a surface roughness value of 5.981 µm, a paint thickness of 115 µm, a paint adhesive strength of 7.28 MPa and an initial corrosion potential position of -0.101 V then a final position of -0.063 V.

Abstract

This research intended to investigate the dynamics and flame of the droplet combustion of methyl laurate - methyl oleate blended. Methyl oleate is an unsaturated FAME with a relatively long carbon chain, frequently found as the dominant component in various biodiesel. Meanwhile, methyl laurate is a saturated FAME with a shorter carbon chain, which is the main component in coconut oil biodiesel. The methyl oleate content in the droplets was varied by 0, 20, 40, 60, 80, and 100%. Visual observations and temperature measurements were conducted on the combustion of suspended droplets with a diameter of 1.24 mm. The droplet is supported by a thermocouple junction with a wire diameter of 0.1 mm. The experimental results show that increasing of the methyl oleate content increase the ignition delay time, burning time, thermal expansion of droplets as well as fluctuations in droplet diameter and combustion temperature. Ignition delay time has a much greater value than burning time. This parameter should be suppressed to obtain more complete combustion and cleaner exhaust emissions, especially in internal compression engine applications where the time available for the combustion process is very short. This can be obtained by increasing the percentage of methyl laurate in biodiesel.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of the Indonesia-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (IJEPA) bilateral trade agreement on Indonesia's export value in the long term. The secondary data time series used for the research is from 2005Q1 to 2019Q4, and the research method employed is the VECM (Vector Error Correction Model). The results of the VECM analysis show that the IJEP bilateral agreement has a significant negative effect, the inflation variable has a significant positive effect, and the FDI and exchange rate variables have a negative but not significant effect on the value of Indonesia's exports to Japan. Implementation of the recommended policies to increase export value and economic growth, namely compliance with product standardization, especially for destination countries, actively and openly providing information related to the IJEPA tariff scheme and utilizing capacity building.

Abstract

This research intended to investigate the combustion characteristics of methyl oleic – ethanol blend with OH functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT-OH) addition. Methyl oleic is an unsaturated fatty acid methyl ester, which is a constituent of various biodiesels. The observed fuel was a mixture of Methyl oleic with 20% vol of ethanol. MWCNT-OH content was varied by 100 ppm, 200 ppm, 300 ppm, 400 ppm, and 500 ppm (wt based). The presence of ethanol in the droplets is intended to promote the microexplosion phenomenon, generating smaller droplets and a shorter burning time. The experimental results show that the MWCNT-OH addition on the droplet of Methyl oleic – ethanol blend decreased the ignition delay and droplet burning time, while the constant burning rate and droplet temperature (and flame temperature) were increased. Reducing ignition delay time due to the higher thermal conductivity of nanofluid droplets results in more effective heat absorption from the environment and better heat transport inside the droplet. Hence, droplet vaporization, flammable mixture formation and ignition occur in a shorter time. Furthermore, this condition encourages a higher burning rate and a lower droplet burning time. The higher droplet and flame temperatures are related to the higher heating value of the methyl oleic – ethanol – MWCNT-OH mixture and higher droplet burning rate, which results in a higher heat release rate.

Abstract

Introduction: This study aims to determine the preferences of rural and urban communities in Jember Regency for Islamic banking. Several factors influence these preferences, including knowledge of Islamic banking and the location of Islamic banking. Research Methods: This research method used a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis. The object of his research includes rural and urban communities in Jember Regency. The sample selection in this study used random sampling of 200 respondents and was carried out randomly. Results: The variable knowledge of Islamic banking in urban and rural communities positively and significantly influences Islamic banking in Jember Regency. Furthermore, the variable location of Islamic banking in rural and urban communities positively influences Islamic banking in Jember Regency. Conclusion: Thus, it is necessary to expand access to Islamic banks to continue increasing the number of offices so that the general public can find information about Islamic banking. This is an excellent opportunity for financial institutions such as Islamic banks to exist and be sustainable.

Abstract

Rice husk is a type of agricultural waste that generated from rice production activities. The number continues to increase in line with the increasing food needs of the people in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the effect of the addition of natural zeolite as a catalyst and to determine the effect of natural zeolite mass percentage variation in the mixture on rice husk waste catalytic combustion by using the thermo gravimetric analysis method. The results of this study show that there is an effect of adding natural zeolite catalysts with the mass percentage of natural zeolite variations on the combustion characteristics and activation energy of each mixture. Increasing the mass percentage of natural zeolite catalysts can affect the reaction process become faster and minimize the effort required, but it was found that if the amount of natural zeolite catalyst is too much, it only adds to the heating load which causes slower reaction. The mixture of rice husks with 10% natural zeolite catalyst is the most optimal mixture because it has the lowest required activation energy value and the combustion reaction phases are achieved at a lower temperature than 5% and 15% mass percentage variations.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian tindakan kelas ini adalah untuk mengetahui penerapan metode inkuiri dapat : 1). meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran tentang atmosfer siswa kelas X IPS 2 SMA Negeri 1 Wringinanom. 2). meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas X IPS 2 SMA Negeri 1 Wringinanom Gresik tentang materi atmosfer pada pelajaran Geografi. Prosedur penelitian ini meliputi dua siklus, dan setiap siklus terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Penelitian tindakan ini dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 1 Wringinanom Gresik, dengan subjek siswa kelas X IPS 2 berjumlah 36 orang yang terdiri dari 16 laki-laki dan 20 perempuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode inkuiri ; 1). pelajaran geografi tentang atmosfer berjalan secara efisien dan dengan baik. 2) Penerapan metode Inkuri dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas X IPS 2 SMA Negeri 1 Wringinanom Gresik tentang materi atmosfer pada pelajaran Geografi mengalami peningkatan secara signifikan,pada siklus I rata-rata nilai siswa 82,5 dengan ketuntasan belajar 80,55% pada siklus II rata-rata nilai siswa 90,1 Dengan ketuntasan belajar 94,44%

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas pendampingan branding wisata budaya berbasis peninggalan purbakala di Desa Kamal, Kecamatan Arjasa, Jember. Desa Kamal memiliki potensi situs megalitikum yang dapat dijadikan sebagai objek wisata budaya dan memberikan dampak ekonomi bagi masyarakat desa. Branding wisata megalitikum Desa Kamal pada konsumen wisata dan masyarakat umum dilakukan melalui saluran-saluran komunikasi, branding di media massa, media sosial maupun event-event budaya. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian dilakukan melalui tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan pendampingan dan evaluasi. Tahap persiapan mencakup kegiatan observasi awal, pemetaan masalah di lapangan, dan penyusunan rancangan kegiatan pendampingan. Observasi dilaksanakan guna memahami kompleksitas dan dinamika yang ada di lapangan. Data hasil observasi diklasifikasi dan dirumuskan berbagai masalah, kendala dan kekurangan yang dihadapi masyarakat desa, serta menyusun solusi pemecahannya. Kegiatan berupa pelatihan sistem tata kelola wisata dan pengembangan sumber daya manusia masyarakat Desa Kamal. Hasil pengabdian berupa Rembuk Desa bersama Pokdarwis yang mendiskusikan strategi pengelolaan wisata berbasis peninggalan megalitikum melalui pengelolaan website, media sosial ofisial, dan branding di media online. Workshop Branding Wisata Megalitikum diselenggarakan sebagai upaya peningkatan kapasitas (capacity building) anggota Pokdarwis dengan materi: 1. Membangun Wisata Desa Kamal Berbasis Peninggalan Megalitikum; 2. Liputan dan Penulisan Artikel Berita; 3. Fotografi Smartphone untuk Konten Media Sosial; 4. Cara Bikin Video Klip YouTube dan Monetasi. Faktor-faktor kunci dalam pengembangan Wisata Desa Megalitikum Kamal adalah kapasitas kelembagaan Pokdarwis dan peran pemerintah desa, pemerintah daerah, akademisi, dan media massa.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the direct and indirect influence of the Human Development Index, Open Unemployment Rate, and Regency Minimum Wage on Poverty Levels on Madura Island. The data used in this research is a type of secondary data sourced from the Central Statistics Agency. The analytical method used is Multiple Linear Regression with panel data on the island of Madura for 9 years from 2015 to 2023. Based on the results of the analysis it is known that the Human Development Index has a negative and insignificant effect on the level of poverty, the Open Unemployment Rate has a positive and significant effect on the level of poverty, and the Regency Minimum Wage have a negative and insignificant effect on the poverty level.

Abstract

Export activities contribute to economic development so it is necessary to make various efforts to increase exports in a country. Exports are influenced by factors that become a country's comparative advantage in conducting international trade. The superior factor discussed in this journal is the development of the financial sector. An advanced financial sector can reduce industrial exporters' barriers to exporting, especially barriers to funding and shipping. This research aims to look at the impact of financial development on exports in Indonesia. This research uses descriptive analysis methods. The results of the descriptive analysis show that the increase in financial development is not accompanied by an increase in exports in Indonesia which is due to a lack of channeling funds to the exporter sector and there are obstacles to carrying out export activities.
