Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify and analyze marketing strategies to increase product sales at TokoOzie Sejahtera in Jember (Viewed from the Perspective of Islamic Economics). In this study, the informants were the owner, employees, and several consumers of Toko Ozie Sejahtera.The research method used in this research is qualitative by conducting interviews and making observations at the Ozie Sejahtera Shop. Field research procedures that produce descriptive data in the form of data from interviews and written data from the owners, employees and consumers of Toko Ozie Sejahtera.The results of this study stated that the strategy carried out by Toko Ozie Sejahtera was an Islamic marketing mix which contained 9 (nine) elements, namely product, price, place, promotion, people, process, physical evidence, promise, and patience; The most effective marketing strategies in increasing sales by Toko Ozie Sejahtera are product and location strategies. The products provided are many choices, many models and always follow current trends. A strategic location that makes it easier for the public to find the existence of Toko Ozie Sejahtera; and the strategy implemented by Toko Ozie Sejahtera is in accordance with sharia marketing which has 9 (nine) elements and also by applying the characteristics of the Islamic marketing mix, namely with the characteristics of rabbaniyyah, akhlaqiyyah, waqi'iyyah and insaniyyah.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of airflow rate on the characteristics of catalytic combustion of pulverized rice husk biomass. Natural zeolite was used as the catalyst in this study. The combustion characteristics included the value of Initiation Temperature of Volatile Matter (ITVM), Initiation Temperature of Fixed Carbon (ITFC), peak of weight loss rate temperature (PT), Burning out Temperature (BT), mass reduction graph (TGA), mass reduction rate (DTG), heating value, and activation energy were measured. The sample used was 45-200 µm in size, and the percentage of catalyst was 7%. The research was carried out using 4 variations, including 2.9 ml/min, 5.8 ml/min, 9.0 ml/min, and 14.8 ml/min, each of which contains the same air composition, namely 80% nitrogen and 20% oxygen. The results showed that the greater the airflow contained in the pulverized biomass catalytic combustion process could increase the combustion characteristics including reducing the value of ITFC, PT, and BT. In addition, it also accelerates the rate of mass reduction and decreases its activation energy due to increasing pressure along with increasing temperature in the combustion chamber, besides that excess air also causes the combustion that occurs in more perfect combustion.

Abstract

Research Originality: This research is original in its dynamic panel analysis of investment efficiency determinants in ASEAN+8 economies during 2019-2023, revealing persistent efficiency patterns and nonlinear governance effects. Research Objectives: This study investigates the impact of foreign direct investment, governance quality, trade openness, and capital intensity on investment efficiency (ICOR) in ASEAN economies. Research Methods: This study employs System GMM estimation on panel data from 8 ASEAN countries. Key variables include ICOR, FDI inflows, the Corruption Perception Index, trade openness (% of GDP, and capital per worker. Empirical Results: The analysis reveals strong persistence in investment efficiency over time. While foreign direct investment has only a limited short-term effect, trade openness is a critical long-run driver of efficiency. The relationship with governance quality is complex and nonlinear. Furthermore, capital per worker was not a significant determinant of investment efficiency in the region. Implications: These results suggest ASEAN policymakers should combine FDI quality targeting with institutional reforms and maintain long-term trade liberalization commitments to enhance investment efficiency. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the export activity in the ASEAN region countries such as Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines and Vietnam during 2001 - 2016 by using annual data. The factors that influence gross domestic product (GDP), interest rate, foreign direct investment (FDI) and exchange rate. The method used in the research is panel Vector Error Correlation Model (PVECM). The results show that Gross Domestic Product (GDP) negatively affects the current account in the short term. The interest rate variable negatively affects the current account in the long term. The Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) variable negatively affects the current account in the long term. Furthermore, the exchange rate variable negatively affects the current account in the long term.

Abstract

Terdapat beberapa permasalahan yang muncul pada proses produksi Batu Piring di Desa Sumberkalong Kecamatan Kalisat Kabupaten Jember, seperti minimnya penggunaan teknologi pada proses produksi dan sistem pemasaran yang belum optimal. Dengan demikian, program ini bertujuan untuk memberikan solusi terkait dengan proses produksi dengan mengintegrasikan peranan teknologi melalui mesin pemotong batu piring untuk Mitra. Selain itu, Tim Pelaksana juga memberikan sosialisasi dan penyuluhan tentang pemasaran online atas produk yang dihasilkan untuk memperluas jangkauan dan akses pasar. Metode Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) digunakan dalam mencapai tujuan program ini. Hasil dari program ini berupa pemberian bantuan modal usaha berupa alat pemotong batu piring dengan Mitra Pak Juhadi selaku pengrajin batu piring dari Dusun Plalangan Desa Sumberkalong Kecamatan Kalisat Kabupaten Jember. Inventivitas pengrajin batu piring berupa pemakaian mesin pemotong batu memberikan kemudahan bagi Mitra dalam proses produksi dan peningkatan kuantitas dan kualitas produk. Selain itu, dapat mendiversifikasi produk kerajinan batu piring dimana tidak hanya sebagai hiasan dinding namun juga lantai dengan kualitas produk yang lebih rapi dan dapat memberikan nilai ekonomis yang lebih tinggi.

Abstract

This study examines the structure, conduct, and performance (SCP) of the Indonesian manufacturing industry, contributing the most to the national economy from 2017 to 2021. The research employed SCP analysis, which entails evaluating market concentration using the Herfindahl Hirschman Index (HHI) and analyzing market performance and industry behavior utilizing literature reviews. Based on Indonesian Central Statistics Agency groupings, the sample data covers 23 sub-sectors of the manufacturing industry. The results of the HHI calculations also show that the concentration of the manufacturing industry market is at a moderate level, mergers and acquisitions that result in moderate market concentration of HHI enhancements will raise anti-competitive concerns and will require further analysis and often require scrutiny. Hence, requiring proper supervision and strategy in developing competitiveness amidst global uncertainty. The conduct and performance of the manufacturing industry show an effort to grow better amid fairly tight global competition. Therefore, it is necessary for a number of parties to play a part in boosting productivity and the competitiveness of goods produced by the manufacturing sector. Governments should reduce their direct intervention in the market by implementing industrial policies and seeking market-oriented policy means to influence the economy.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of variations in the angle and distance of sandblasting on paint coating quality and corrosion properties of low carbon steel. The success of a coating is highly dependent on surface roughness, so sandblasting is needed to clean and create a surface roughness profile with the aim that the paint can coat the surface perfectly. The test method used in this research is the pull off test method for testing the adhesive strength of paint and open circuit potential (OCP) for testing the corrosion potential. The sandblasting variations used are angles of 45⁰, 60⁰, 75⁰ and nozzle distances of 15 cm, 35 and 50 cm. The tests carried out were roughness, paint thickness, paint adhesive strength and corrosion potential. From the test results it can be concluded that the greater the angle and the closer the sandblasting nozzle distance, the greater the surface roughness. The greater surface roughness affects the paint layer to be thicker and has a high paint adhesion strength, resulting in a smaller corrosion potential. In this study, the highest test results were obtained at an angle of 75⁰ and a distance of 15 cm with a surface roughness value of 5.981 µm, a paint thickness of 115 µm, a paint adhesive strength of 7.28 MPa and an initial corrosion potential position of -0.101 V then a final position of -0.063 V.

Abstract

This study used an experimental method by directly observing the object under study. The independent variables in this study include the geometry of the flame holder on the meso-scale combustor, airflow, and fuel discharge. The research data were analyzed and displayed in graphical form as well as flame visualization. This research concludes that combustion using a flame holder circle has a more stable and even flame compared to a flame holder concentric ring and backward facing step. The shape of the Flame holder circle also produces a higher flame temperature. The results of this study contribute to the development of MPG based on micro combustion with a better understanding of the interaction between flame holders, reactant velocities and equivalent ratios in achieving stable and efficient combustion in meso-scale combustors. This research can provide important input for the development of high-efficiency micro-combustion-based power generation technology in the future.

Abstract

This research intended to investigate the dynamics and flame of the droplet combustion of methyl laurate - methyl oleate blended. Methyl oleate is an unsaturated FAME with a relatively long carbon chain, frequently found as the dominant component in various biodiesel. Meanwhile, methyl laurate is a saturated FAME with a shorter carbon chain, which is the main component in coconut oil biodiesel. The methyl oleate content in the droplets was varied by 0, 20, 40, 60, 80, and 100%. Visual observations and temperature measurements were conducted on the combustion of suspended droplets with a diameter of 1.24 mm. The droplet is supported by a thermocouple junction with a wire diameter of 0.1 mm. The experimental results show that increasing of the methyl oleate content increase the ignition delay time, burning time, thermal expansion of droplets as well as fluctuations in droplet diameter and combustion temperature. Ignition delay time has a much greater value than burning time. This parameter should be suppressed to obtain more complete combustion and cleaner exhaust emissions, especially in internal compression engine applications where the time available for the combustion process is very short. This can be obtained by increasing the percentage of methyl laurate in biodiesel.

Abstract

To reduce dependence on fossil fuel, biomass, e.g. the wood pellet, has been developed in recent years.  Indonesia has an abundant source of biomass, e.g. wood and rice husk. This work investigates the combustion characteristics of the wood pellet made of Albizia Chinensis and rice husk. The analyzed combustion properties are ignition delay time, the mass of residue, combustion duration, combustion rate, maximum flame temperature, During the experiment, the rice husk content varies between 0 to 50%. As the rice husk content increases from 0 to 50%, the ignition delay time increases from 6 to 9.9 seconds, the mass of residue increases from 21.2 to 45 % and the combustion rate decreases from 0.55 to 0.52 g/min. In addition, higher rice husk content also decreases the maximum temperature.
