Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to explore the various diaspora forms of the Balinese ethnic community's religious and cultural traditions, specificially in Tridharmayoga Village in South Lampung. The island of Bali is recognized for its unique Hindu religious traditions which mirror the indigenous culture. It is observed that when the Hindu Balinese community migrates to transmigration areas or other regions exterior to Bali, they persist in practicing these traditions as a component of their Hindu identity. The Tridharmayoga Village was founded on the principles of three diaspora religions: Hinduism, Islam and Catholicism. The village promotes interacttions that place a high emphasis on unity, despite the changes in religious traditions and cultural practices that might diverge from the native homeland. However, these traditions remain prevalent in the diaspora region. Considering these factors, questions emerge regarding the Balinese diaspora's presence in this village and how the Balinese ethnic group's religious and cultural heritage traditions, inherited from their homeland, are expressed in this new environment. This research adopts an exploratory and qualitative descriptive-analytical approach, presenting data descriptively based on the empirical evidence collected from the field. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and document analysis from a variety of sources in the field. The findings of this study indicate that the village, which is rooted in unity, diversity, and multiculturalism, adjusts its religious traditions to align with the established culture. This adjustment, however, does not eradicate the fundamental traditions but modifies them to suit the economic conditions of the host land, ensuring adherence to obligatory practices. This study offers insights into the value transformation within the religious traditions of the Balinese ethnic group, influenced by specific local conditions, particularly focusing on the Hindu Balinese community in Tridharmayoga Village. Keywords: Diaspora, Religious Culture, Balinese Hindu Ethnicity, Tridharmayoga Village, South Lampung.

Abstract

Infrastructure development, particularly in the form of roads and bridges, plays a pivotal role in driving economic advancement and improving societal well-being in Tabalong Regency. This study aims to comprehensively evaluate the economic impacts of road and bridge infrastructure investments in Tabalong Regency. Utilizing secondary data sourced from the Tabalong Regency Statistics Office (BPS), the research employs a quantitative approach, primarily through regression analysis, to examine the relationship between infrastructure investments and economic indicators. The findings reveal significant positive correlations between infrastructure development and various economic metrics. Enhanced road and bridge networks are shown to facilitate smoother transportation of goods and people, reduce logistical costs, and improve market accessibility for businesses. This, in turn, stimulates economic activities, boosts productivity, and attracts investments into the region. Moreover, improved infrastructure supports the development of other sectors such as tourism, agriculture, and manufacturing, creating a multiplier effect on economic growth. Based on the research outcomes, it is recommended that Tabalong Regency continues to prioritize and invest in infrastructure projects, particularly those related to roads and bridges. Sustained investments in infrastructure not only support current economic activities but also lay the groundwork for future development opportunities.

Abstract

Research Aims: This study explores the nexus between capital structure and financial performance among firms listed in Indonesia's IDX LQ45 Low Carbon Leaders. The study focuses on capital structure, operationalized through leverage (Total Liabilities/Total Assets), and financial performance metrics, specifically Return on Assets (ROA) and Return on Equity (ROE). Design/methodology/approach: The research employs the Hausman test to select appropriate panel data models, subsequently validated by the Breusch-Pagan test. This rigorous approach ensures robust model selection between fixed-effect and random-effect specifications. Research Findings: Based on ROA and ROE measurements, leverage's influence on financial performance does not consistently show significant statistical importance. Theoretical Contribution/Originality: This study enriches financial literature by supporting the findings of Miller and Modigliani, which indicate that capital structure does not directly impact profitability, particularly in the context of companies listed in the IDX LQ45 Low Carbon Leaders in Indonesia.
