Abstract

This study investigates the impact of Diniyah Takmiliyah Awaliyah (MDTA) learning on the comprehension of Islamic religious subjects at Jatimekar State Elementary School in Baleendah District, Bandung Regency. The research addresses the observed differences in religious lesson comprehension between elementary and early education. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental model was employed, involving 84 sixth-grade students divided into experimental and control groups. Data was collected through comprehension tests covering PAI material from Chapters 1 to 4 and questionnaires. The analysis revealed that students who participated in MDTA learning had a better understanding of Islamic religious material compared to those who did not. These findings suggest that MDTA learning significantly enhances the comprehension of Islamic religious subjects in elementary schools. The study advocates for stronger synergy between early and formal education to improve the quality of Islamic religious learning. This research aims to inform more effective education policies to enhance the quality of religious education in Indonesia.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine how taxes, interest rates, inflation, and economic growth affect investment in Indonesia. The variables analyzed included economic growth, interest rates, inflation, and taxes in relation to investment in Indonesia. The study used time series data from 2003 to 2022 and applied quantitative analysis, focusing on measurable data presented through equations, tables, and other formats. The empirical findings indicate that interest rates and economic growth both have a positive and significant impact on investment. While taxes also show a positive impact, their effect is not statistically significant. In contrast, inflation has a negative impact on investment. These findings may provide valuable insights for policymakers in formulating strategies to promote investment in Indonesia.

Abstract

Liquid e-cigarettes have become a popular new form of addictive tobacco products. The increasing prevalence of e-cigarette and smoking behaviors has led the government to increase tobacco tax rates every year. While this policy boosts state revenues, it also poses challenges for conventional and e-cigarette businesses, including tobacco farmers. Excise tariffs for liquid e-cigarettes are divided into open and closed system types, with the method of filling the liquid is the key distinction. Users can manually refill the open system, the closed system cannot be refilled. Despite both containing cigarette liquid, the percentage of raising excise taxes is higher for the open system than the closed system. This study aims to evaluate the effect of the increase of excise taxes on business competition between open and closed systems of liquid e-cigarettes. Using descriptive analysis, literature review, and a basic quantitative approach, this study found that differences in excise tax rates on e-cigarettes encourage competition and create unequal treatments. The higher excise tax on open systems has created a polemic in sustainability of small entrepreneurs in the tobacco sector. The role of the government as a regulator is very important in ensuring fair and responsive policies in order to create conducive business competition between open and closed system liquid e-cigarettes.

Abstract

The socialization of religious moderation discourse in the digital space requires an effective strategy to engage the Indonesian populace. This study aims to understand the patterns and forms of religious moderation discourse in the Indonesian digital space from 2020 to 2023 and to assess the effectiveness of text mining techniques in this context. A mixed-method approach, combining digital humanities with quantitative text mining and qualitative discourse analysis, was employed to analyze the discourse on religious moderation. The findings indicate that the discourse is dominated by the term "Indonesia," highlighting the intertwining of religious moderation with nationalism. The prominence of "Indonesia" as a keyword suggests that the promotion of religious moderation values aligns closely with nationalistic sentiments. Additionally, the discourse is significantly influenced by political activities, with politicians' pragmatic values serving as a means to reach various segments of society, albeit not as a long-term strategy. To enhance the socialization of religious moderation, it is crucial to evaluate and refine current strategies. Analyzing the patterns and forms of this discourse can provide insights for more effective dissemination in the digital space. This evaluation will help in better promoting the values of religious moderation, ensuring they resonate with broader societal values and reach a wider audience.

Abstract

This research examines the role of ulama in education in three salafiyah Islamic boarding schools in Madura: Al-Is'af, Assadad, and Al-Usymuni. The main objective of this research is to analyze the works of ulama that are still used as the main literature in these pesantrens and to investigate how salafiyah pesantrens maintain the quality of traditional religious education while adopting the modern classical education system. The methodology used includes exploration to identify and inventory the works of scholars, as well as content analysis to reveal important information such as author, field of study, and book title. The study found that although salafiyah pesantren have incorporated non-yellow literature into their curriculum, they still maintain a focus on deep religious understanding (tafaqquh fiddin) through the teaching of classical books. The works of ulama are still the main reference in pesantren education, proving the important role of ulama in maintaining the Islamic scientific tradition in Indonesia.
