Abstract

This research was conducted in the Wiru Nunggal and Putra Nusa beef cattle farmers groups, Kondangjajar Village, Cijulang District, Pangandaran, West Java. This research aims to determine the characteristics of farmers and the farmers' perceptions of the sustainability of the beef cattle business, as well as to analyze the relationship between these two variables. The research was conducted using a survey method involving 38 respondents taken by census. The data obtained were analyzed using Spearman Rank correlation. The results of the research show that: (1) the characteristics of farmers are that most of them are in the middle adult category (41-60 years), their education level is in the low category (primary school), their farming experience is in the medium category (8-14 years). , the number of livestock owned is in the low category (1-3 livestock) and the number of family dependents is in the small category (1-2 people). (2) The farmer's perception of the sustainability of the beef cattle business is included in the medium category, which means that the farmer's perception of the sustainability of the beef cattle business is quite good. (3) Farmer characteristics that have a positive and significant relationship to the perception of sustainability of beef cattle farming are age, level of education, and number of livestock owned.

Abstract

Kapasitas manajerial dan kepemimpinan kelompok merupakan faktor utama dalam meningkatkan efektivitas dan keberlanjutan kelompok tani ternak, terutama bagi kelompok pemula yang masih menghadapi tantangan dalam aspek organisasi dan tata kelola. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan intervensi pendidikan nonformal berupa penyuluhan untuk memperkuat kapasitas kelembagaan kelompok. Kegiatan penyuluhan dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan metode partisipatif dan interaktif di Desa Haurngombong, Kecamatan Pamulihan, Kabupaten Sumedang dengan melibatkan 25 peserta dari Kelompok Peternak. Materi terdiri dari tema utama: (1) kapasitas manajerial kelompok dan (2) kepemimpinan kelompok serta pelatihan analisis SWOT untuk penyusunan program kerja kelompok. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pretest dan posttest. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan (p < 0,05) dalam pengetahuan tentang manajerial dan kepemimpinan kelompok. Peserta juga menunjukkan kemampuan praktis dalam analisis SWOT untuk penyusunan program kerja. Kegiatan penyuluhan ini terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kapasitas manajerial dan kepemimpinan kelompok tani ternak pemula. Metode partisipatif dan pendekatan kontekstual yang digunakan mampu memfasilitasi proses pembelajaran orang dewasa dengan baik. Hasil ini sejalan dengan berbagai studi pengabdian sebelumnya yang menekankan pentingnya penguatan kelembagaan dan pengembangan kepemimpinan kolektif dalam memperkuat ketahanan kelompok usaha peternakan.

Abstract

Chicken meat, including that from local chickens, is widely consumed by Indonesians. One of the markets where local chicken is purchased in Bandung City is the Gedebage Traditional Market. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of consumer attitudes on purchasing decisions for local chicken at the Gedebage Traditional Market. The research method used is a survey with a quantitative data analysis approach. The research was conducted on March 10 - April 10, 2024, at the Gedebage Traditional Market, Bandung, West Java. Respondents in this study were local chicken buyers who were taken by accidental sampling technique, totaling 97 respondents. The analysis method used is simple linear regression analysis. The results showed that consumer attitudes belonged to the high category with a total percentage of 57.7% and purchasing decisions belonged to the high category with a total percentage of 58.8%. Consumer attitudes have a real influence on purchasing decisions for local chicken, with a regression coefficient value of 0.313. The effect of the independent variable (consumer attitude) on the dependent variable (purchase decision) is 78%, while the remaining 22% is influenced by other variables that are not included in the regression model.

Abstract

Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah: 1) Mengetahui kondisi balita di desa Panyadap kecamatan Solokan Jeruk; 2) Mengkaji tingkat pengetahuan ibu-ibu mengenai stunting; 3) Mengetahui faktor pendukung dan penghambat kegiatan penyuluhan. Metode yang digunakan adalah penyuluhan dan demonstrasi/pelatihan melalui tehnik PRA (Participation Rural Appraisal) dan FGD (Focus Group Discussion). Evaluasi dilakukan melalui: 1) melakukan pretest dan posttest serta diskusi untuk mengetahui perubahan pengetahuan dan sikap dari materi yang diberikan. 2) Mengevaluasi faktor pendukung dan penghambat kegiatan penyuluhan. Peserta penyuluhan berjumlah 72 orang. Materi meliputi: pengertian stunting serta ciri-cirinya, penyebab dan dampak yang diakibatkannya. pengertian gizi seimbang, triguna makanan gizi seimbang. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan terjadi perubahan kognitif dan afeksi secara kuantitatif hasil pretest 80,4 kemudian posttest menjadi 87,4. Hasil evaluasi faktor pendukung dan penghambat menunjukkan terjadi perubahan sikap skor pretest 58 menjadi 81,2. Kesimpulan menunjukkan: 1) Kondisi balita di desa Panyadap kecamatan Solokan Jeruk cukup baik,walaupun terdapat beberapa anak beresiko stunting. 2) Terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan sebelum dan sesudah penyuluhan mengenai upaya pencegahan stunting. 3) Beberapa faktor pendorong harus dijadikan motivasi untuk terus memantau kondisi balita, meminimalkan faktor penghambat melalui beberapa strategi seperti: memberikan penyuluhan berkesinambungan mengenai stunting dan berbagai menu sehat bagi balita serta melakukan praktik dengan ibu-ibu kader pada saat posyandu.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh persepsi dan preferensi konsumen terhadap keputusan pembelian daging ayam lokal di Perumahan BKR Regency, Kota Tasikmalaya. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada menurunnya konsumsi daging ayam lokal beberapa tahun terakhir serta meningkatnya persaingan dengan daging ayam broiler yang lebih terjangkau. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Data primer dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner skala Likert yang diberikan kepada 68 responden yang dipilih melalui teknik simple random sampling. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan metode Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persepsi konsumen yang meliputi harga, kebersihan, aroma, warna, dan rasa berpengaruh signifikan terhadap keputusan pembelian. Preferensi konsumen juga terbukti memiliki pengaruh positif dalam mendorong keputusan pembelian. Secara simultan, persepsi dan preferensi konsumen memberikan kontribusi besar terhadap keputusan pembelian daging ayam lokal. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin positif persepsi dan semakin tinggi preferensi konsumen, maka semakin tinggi pula kecenderungan mereka untuk membeli daging ayam lokal. Penelitian ini memberikan implikasi praktis bagi pelaku usaha untuk meningkatkan kualitas produk dan membangun strategi pemasaran yang sesuai dengan preferensi konsumen.

Abstract

This study investigates the accessibility of livelihood capital among sheep-farming households in Wanaraja District, Garut Regency, Indonesia. A quantitative research design was applied through a structured survey involving 95 sheep farmers. Livelihood capital accessibility was conceptualized across five dimensions: human, natural, financial, social, and physical capital. Data were analyzed using the Entropy Weight Method to objectively determine the relative contribution of each dimension in shaping overall livelihood capital accessibility. The results indicate that financial capital is the most accessible dimension among sheep farmers, highlighting the dominant role of financial resources in supporting their livelihood strategies. In contrast, human, social, physical, and natural capital remain less accessible, suggesting that these dimensions have not been fully optimized to enhance the resilience and sustainability of rural livelihoods. These findings underscore the importance of strengthening non-financial forms of capital to achieve a more balanced and sustainable livelihood system among smallholder livestock farmers.

Abstract

The study was conducted at the Los Cimaung Cooperative Service Center (TPK) in Margamukti Village, Pangalengan District, Bandung Regency. The purpose of the study was to study the personal and entrepreneurial characteristics of advanced dairy farmers and the success of their dairy businesses. The study was conducted using a descriptive approach. The selection of informants was carried out purposively, totaling 12 people. The results showed that the profile of advanced dairy farmers in terms of their personal characteristics, were of productive age, had sufficient experience of over 15 years, and participated in extension and training activities. From their entrepreneurial characteristics, the informant dairy farmers showed a high orientation in achieving success from their dairy businesses and their courage in taking risks. The success of the informant's dairy business was evident in the increase in assets such as the continued increase in dairy cattle ownership and the utilization of the results to improve the quality of their welfare. Factors that need to be considered to develop advanced dairy farmers need to be done through a process of behavioral change through non-formal educational activities in the form of extension and training as well as the provision of support for affordable production inputs and milk price incentives.

Abstract

The livestock sector plays a strategic role in agricultural development and improving community welfare, especially in developing countries such as Indonesia. However, small-scale farmers still face various challenges such as limited access to resources, lack of technical knowledge, and low adoption of modern technology. The top-down approach that has been applied in empowerment programmes is often ineffective because it places farmers in a passive role. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of participatory communication approaches in empowering farmers through a literature review using a descriptive-analytical approach. The findings indicate that participatory communication can increase technology adoption, livestock productivity, and programme sustainability through the strengthening of local capacity. Collaboration between farmers, extension workers, and researchers in the knowledge exchange process has proven to generate more contextual and applicable solutions. The success of this approach is greatly influenced by the quality of facilitators, institutional support, and community readiness. However, challenges such as knowledge gaps and resource constraints remain obstacles that need to be overcome. Thus, participatory communication is not only an extension method but also a crucial strategy in creating inclusive, needs-based, and sustainable farmer empowerment.

Abstract

Livestock agribusiness faces various structural issues, demonstrating the need for a more comprehensive approach, not only technical but also social aspects, ethics, and moral values. Kuntowijoyo's prophetic social science, consisting of the pillars of humanization, liberation, and transcendence, offers a potential ethical and social framework for transforming livestock agribusiness practices and governance. This study uses a qualitative conceptual-theoretical approach with a literature review method to examine livestock agribusiness from a prophetic social science perspective and analyze its strategies, challenges, and opportunities. The results of the study indicate that livestock agribusiness from a prophetic social science perspective consists of the pillars of humanization (towards livestock workers, livestock, and consumers), liberation (from economic oppression, backwardness and powerlessness), and transcendence (spiritual intentions-goals, moral-ecological responsibility, and social distribution-justice). Reactualization strategies include increasing livestock farmer capacity, strengthening animal welfare regulations, empowering livestock farmers, strengthening organizational structures, fostering shared values, market chain reform, inclusive access to capital, moral reform, strengthening halal-thayyib ethics, and sustainable governance based on ethical, civilized, and spiritual values. Key challenges include weak ethical and technological literacy, unequal market structures, ineffective policies, and the low integration of moral values into livestock agribusiness practices. Opportunities include the development of digital technology, increased awareness of ethics, halal certification, and animal welfare issues, the development of productive livestock-based philanthropy, and support for sustainable policies. This study provides that the reactualization of prophetic values can be an important paradigm in building a more humane, ethical, equitable, and spiritually based livestock agribusiness, thereby creating social transformation.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat melalui kegiatan pemberdayaan perempuan melalui peningkatan nilai tambah produk olahan susu (yogurt) dalam upaya peningkatan ketahanan pangan telah dilakukan di anggota Kelompok Wanita Tani Ternak (KWT) Putra Saluyu 1, Putra Saluyu 2 dan Mekarbakti 1 di Desa Mekarbakti pada bulan Juni- Juli 2025. Tujuan dari kegiatan PKM adalah untuk mengetahui : (1) pengetahuan anggota KWT dalam hal peran perempuan dan gender; (2) pengetahuan anggota KWT dalam pemenuhan gizi keluarga; (3) keterampilam anggota KWT dalam pembuatan yogurt; dan (4) kemampuan anggota KWT dalam upaya-upaya meningkatkan ketahanan pangan. Metode atau pendekatan yang digunakan dalam kegiatan PKM ini adalah penyuluhan interaktif dengan pendekatan kelompok. Hasil data yang diperoleh dari pre-test dan post-test menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan sebesar 33 poin (dari nilai 42 ke 75) atau sebesar 78% terkait peran perempuan (peran domestik, publik) dan pemenuhan gizi keluarga, serta pembuatan yogurt, namun demikian dari aspek keterampilan membuat yogurt dan upaya-upaya peningkatan ketahanan pangan belum optimal. Untuk itu anggota KWT di Desa Mekarbakti perlu mencoba membuat dan menjual yogurt dalam skala rumahan baik untuk dikonsumsi (meningkatkan gizi keluarga) maupun untuk meningkatkan pendapatan keluarga dengan tetap menyetor sebagian besar hasil susunya ke KSU Tandangsari.
