Abstract

ABSTRACTLearning more dominated by teachers and students receive without actively thinking led to an understanding of concepts and low student activity. Learning model that utilizes the interaction of students in cooperative learning that is a model of NHT with ARCS. This study aims to determine how students understanding of concepts and activities that apply the cooperative model of NHT with ARCS. This type of research is experimental research. The population in this study was a class VII Koto XI SMPN 1 Tarusan Academic Year 2013/2014 except VII1 class. Class VII2 is a class of experimental and control class is VII3 class. This research instrument is the student activity sheet and test understanding of mathematical concepts. Data analysis techniques used t test. Based on the analysis of data known to both classes of normally distributed and homogeneous samples. Hypothesis test results obtained t = 1.85 is greater than ttable = 1.645 so H0 is rejected and accept H1. Concluded that the students understanding of mathematical concepts that apply to the model of NHT with ARCS better understanding of mathematical concepts than students who apply conventional learning in class VII Koto XI SMPN 1 Tarusan.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was designed for revealing whether the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using Practice Rehearsal Pairs was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning. This was an experimental research which used random toward the subject design. The population of the research was the students in class VIII of SMPN 1 Lembah Melintang. In collecting the data a quiz and a posttest were administered. The data gathered then was analyzed by using MINITAB. Based on the result of data analysis, it was found that the average score of the students in the experimental class (73,23) was higher than those in the control class (61,23). Thus, it was concluded that the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using Practice Rehearsal Pairs was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning in class VIII of SMPN 1 Lembah Melintang .

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe background of research  caused less active students tend to ask your friends but the results have not been satisfactory and lack of understanding of mathematical concepts students. This study aims is to determine students  mathematical concepts comprehension with peer lesson strategies and worksheets better than math concept comprehension with conventional learning. The research is experimental by using random to the experimental subject. Population is student in the class VIII SMP 13 Sijunjung. The instrument used is examinations winh reliability 0.95. To test the hypothesis used the  t-test with  MINITAB, obtained P-Value 0,005 less than α = 0.05, so hypothesis received. In conclusion, students mathematical concepts comprehension with peer lesson strategies  and  worksheets better than students math concept comprehension with conventional learning. in class VIII SMP 13 Sijunjung.

Abstract

Abstrak The background of the research is the lack of understanding mathematical concepts student’s in learning mathematic. The aims of this research is to know the student’s understanding of mathematical concepts by implementing cooperative learning model TTW is better than the student’s understanding of mathematical concepts with conventional learning. Besign of this research is experimental research by random design. The population of research was students of class VIII grade SMP 2 Lengayang Academic Year 2013/2014, which consists of eight classes. Technique of random sampling , the sample is selected as class VIIId as experimental class and VIIIe as control class. Instrumentation of this research is the understanding of mathematical concepts Form of the test used is a form of essays with a reliability test is = 0.81. The technique data analysis is the one parties of t-test. Based on the calculation of the data analysis the class was normally distributed with  = 0.0872  and = 0.1108. Hypothesis testing results obtained  then the hypothesis in this research was received. It can be concluded that the student’s understanding of mathematical concepts by implementing cooperative learning TTW is better than understanding of  mathematical concepts that students applying convensional learning in VIII  SMPN 2 Lengayang 2013/2014.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research background is the students do not active and do not comprehend about mathematical concept which illustrated by the lower score of mathematic that the eight grade students achieve at SMPN 1 Tandun. This study aims to determine how the activity and the students learning concept comprehension after using College Ball strategy for eight grade students at SMPN 1 Tandun. The type of the research is experimental research by random the subject. The population of the research consist of 7 classes of the eight grade students at SMPN 1 Tandun, in this research the researcher used random sampling to collect the sample, for both experimental and control class. The experimental class is VIIID class and the control class is VIIIB class. The instrumentations of the research are observation and test. The form of the test is essay with the reliability 0,86. The result based on observation is the increasing and decreasing of students’ activity. Furthermore, based on t test by using MINITAB which the confidence level 95% in hypothesis testing can be collected p-value 0,003, it is smaller than . thus, in brief the students’ mathematical concept comprehension by using College Ball strategy better than conventional learning for eight grade students at SMPN 1 Tandun, Rokan Hulu district.

Abstract

                                                        ABSTRACKTeaching materials represent one of the matter that able to influence the quality of learning. Teaching materials should facilitate students to discover concepts independently, so that the mindset of students thrive. At this research, is developed a teaching materials in the form of sheet activity of student (LKS) based on guided discovery. Research type is development research by using model 4-D which consist of 4 phase that is: define, design, develop, and disseminate. Result of validation indicate that sheet activity of student (LKS) based on guided discovery have validity 3,77 which including at criterion very valid which is evaluated from didactic requirements, construction requirements, and technical requirements.

Abstract

ABSTRACKTThe background of the research is the researcher found that there is a students’ lack understanding related to the mathematical concept at XI IPA of Senior High School Adabiah 2 Padang, and the students’ learning outcome at that school is also low. The purpose of the research is to find out whether the understanding of mathematical concept by applying Treffinger Model is better than Conventional model at XI IPA of Senior High School Adabiah 2 Padang Year 2013/2014. Afterward, the type of the research is an experimental research. Then, the population of the research is the students at XI IPA of Senior High School Adabiah 2 Padang Year 2013/2014. Next, the technique sampling of the research is random sampling, XI IPA 5 as the experimental class and XI IPA 1 as the control class. The instruments that use are motivation checklists and the final test with indicators of concept understanding. The type of the test is essay; 5 questions, with 0,68 reliability. Thus, the result of the test is an abnormal distribution. So, the researcher decided to use Mann-Whitney test with Z = -9,69 and Ztable=-1,65 shown that  Z < Ztable with 5% real level. Last, can be concluded that the students’ understanding of mathematical concept by implementing Treffinger Model is better than Conventional Model at XI IPA Senior High School Adabiah 2 Padang Year 2013/2014.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research was background by student understanding of mathematical concept still lower. This matter seen at result learn class student mathematics of VIII SMPN 1 Bayang School Year 2013 / 2014.This type of this  research is experiment. Research with random sampling techniques. Population in this research is all class student of VIII SMPN 1 Bayang school year 2013 /2014.The selected class of sampel is VIII1 as experiment class and of VIII5 as control class. Instrument used in this research is the tes of understanding of mathematical concept. Form of tes the used is form of esai with reliabilitas test is r11=0,93. Technique analyse data  used in this test is t.According to result of data analysis known that both class of sampel have normal distribution and is homogeneous at real level = 0,05. Result of hypothesis test obtained by t =2,36and ttable=1,68 hence hypothesis at this research is accepted. So that can be concluded that student  understanding of mathematical concept by applying study withactive learning type GQGA accompanied by quiz better than student understanding of mathematical concept with conventional study in class of VIII SMPN 1 Bayang.

Abstract

Abstract The  comprehension of the mathematical concept students’ are still low of class VIII SMPN 32 Padang becomes problem which is background this research. The purpose of this research is to know determine whether the ability of student understanding of mathematical concepts by implementing Giving Question and Getting Answer (GQGA) is better than the ability of student understanding of mathematical concepts with conventional learning class VIII SMPN 32 Padang. This research is experimental research with research design randomized on subject. The data analysis used was one way t test by using program MINITAB. Based on the calculation results obtained P-value = 0.000 is smaller than the significance level (α) = 0,05 so it can be concluded that the ability of student understanding of mathematical concepts using Giving Question and Getting Answer (GQGA) is better than the ability of student understanding of mathematical concepts with conventional learning class VIII SMPN 32 Padang.

Abstract

ABSTARCT This research was conducted based on the phenomena indicating that the students had less skill in solving the mathematics problem and were unable to develo their own ideas. This research was aimed at revealing whether the mathematics consetual understanding of the students taught by using Trading Places active strategy was better than that of sudents taught by using convetional learning. This was an exerimental research which used random toward the subject design. The populatioan of the research was the students in clas VIII of SMPN 3 Kota Solok registered in academic year 2013/2014. The instruments of the reseach were a posttest and observation sheet for the students’ activities. Th data collected was analyzed by using t-test. Based on the results of the final test data analysis can be found thitung= 2,24 and ttabel=1,679, so that hypothesis is approved. Based on the result of data analysis it was know that the mathematics consetual understanding of the students taugt by using Trading Places active strategy was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning in class VII of SMPN 3 Kota Solok registered in academic year 2013/2014.
