Abstract

This research aims to determine the implementation of work procedures from several tasks performed by waitresses at the Karang Restaurant KTM Resort Batam, as well as knowing the obstacles in the implementation of tasks, and the efforts that have been made by management in minimizing these obstacles. This research uses qualitative methods to examine the problem under study by making six key informants as resource persons, namely three restaurant captains, two waitresses, and a guest. While data collection techniques in this researche use observation, interviews and documentation. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, for the whole of the results of the interview answers said that the implementation of work procedures performed by waiters is sufficient to follow the rules that are set and do the job well, but still need improvement to get optimal work results. In the implementation, work procedures that done by waiter/ss starting from before the restaurant open, during operational, and closing procedures, had been done based on the written work procedures that given by the management.Keywords: Implementation, Work Procedures, Waitresses, Restaurant

Abstract

Riau is one of the provinces in Indonesia which is engaged in MICE, and the city of Pekanbaru as the capital of Riau Province is a city that will move as a tourism city of MICE with various MICE activities supporting facilities. One of the venues for this mice business activity is SKA Co Ex Pekanbaru. SKA Co Ex is a convention and exhibition center and one of the properties of the Swiss Belhotel SKA Group Pekanbaru. SKA Co Ex organizes many events, including exhibition events where this exhibition will bring a lot of guests or visitors. In the implementation of exhibition there needs to be stages of implementation in order to be well organized and the event runs smoothly. The purpose of this study was to describe the implementation of exhibiton in SKA Co Ex Pekanbaru with the implementation of exibition as the basis of the concept. Data of this research was obatained from observation, interviews, and documentation, with data collection techniques using key informant purposive sampling. Based in this research, the type of exhibition held in SKA Co Ex, various stakeholders and suppliers, and the stages of implementation in which the first stage is the planning stage, where planning is first about the determination by ordering and other planning that must be prepared, and then the coordination phase is very needed in the implementation and the finally is evaluation.Keywords: Exhibition, Implemanting, SKA Co Ex

Abstract

Promotion is one of important factor which have to be in a program at a company for introducing their product in to people. Including the companies engaged in tourism industry that spread throughout Indonesia. Batam is one of cities in Indonesia that has many companies engaged in tourism indutry because of the location near by neighbouring countries like Singapore and Malaysia. One of that company is PT. Fantastik Tour & Travel who has been in business since 2004. In development of the company, PT. Fantastik Tour & Travel carried out several promotion programs. This research aims to find out what promotion that has been carried out by PT. Fantastik Tour & Travel and how to carry out the promotion with promotion mix as a concept. Data of this rearch was obatained from observation, interviews, and documentation, with data collection techniques using key informant purposive sampling. Based in this research, explain about what promotion mix that carry out by PT. Fantastik Tour & Travel to promote their flight ticket product and how to carry out that promotion mix according to communication tools of promotion mix.Keywords: Promotion Mix, Tour & Travel, Flight Ticket

Abstract

Nagoya Mansion Hotel & Residence Batam is a hotel located in the middle of batam city. This hotel became one of the hotels that have the tallest building in batam city. Nagoya Mansion Hotel & Residence Batam is one of the best hotels in downtown batam. The hotel has two adjoining buildings. Where the first building is named Tower A and the second is named Tower B, each tower has the same number of floors and the same building form. Nagoya Mansion Hotel & Residence Batam is located on Jalan Kampung Utama, Jl. Imam Bonjol No.1, Lubuk Baja Kota, Batam City, Batam City, Riau Islands. The position of Nagoya Mansion Hotel & Residence Batam is right in the middle of batam city, so it will not be far from the center of the batam in batam city. Nagoya Mansion Hotel & Residence has twenty-two floors where the apartments start from the fifth to sixteenth floors, and for the hotel chain starting from seventeen to twenty-two floors. From the results of research authors who talked about the hotel services, especially in department housekeeping. Can be said that this hotel can be one of the many hotels inhabited by guests who are in the city batam. With the position of the hotel with the hub of batam city center, it can be seen hotel guests who stay is for business and for leisure. Keyword: Implementation of Order Taker Task.

Abstract

One of the important assets owned by the organization can not be separated from the performance of employees. To obtain good performance, it is necessary to improve employee motivation. In developing the organization, people often focus on how to develop the business while the development of human resources is still less attention. A good leader will certainly create a comfortable environment and motivate employees with the aim to work morale to work and provide maximum performance. Work motivation is an important factor to obtain good performance.This study was conducted with the aim to determine what factors affect employee motivation and what factors are dominant influence employee motivation in Tourism Office of Youth and Sports District of Meranti IslandsThe method used in this study is a quantitative method using statistical formula to help analyze data obtained from the field. The data in this study was obtained by spreading questionnaires on 29 respondents who became samples and then processed to get the results. The results of this study concluded that: 1) factors that affect the motivation of work is the factor of satisfaction and maintenance factor. 2) the most dominant factor affecting the work motivation of employees at the Department of Tourism Youth and Sports District of Meranti Islands is a maintenance factor.Keywords : Work Motivation

Abstract

Culinary tours in Indonesia are filled with various variations, one of which is processed products from durian fruit. This study aims to describe durian culinary tours on Jendral Sudirman street Pekanbaru city and find out consumers responses to durian culinary tours on Jendral Sudirman street Pekanbaru city. This research method is a quantitative method. Data collection techniques are carried out by observation, interviews, documentation and questionnaires. The results showed that the durian culinary tour was a tourist product in which there were attractions such as the taste of durian fruit which was delicious, had a soft texture, the beauty of the processed durian colors looked attractive. Accessibility to durian culinary tourism locations that are very strategic makes it easy for consumers to come and public transportation is easy to get to get to that location. And has facilities available in durian culinary tours such as parking lots, tables and chairs, wipes, hand washers, toilets and trash cans. This attraction, accessibility, and facility will be responded by consumers to find out the assessment of durian culinary tourism products.Keywords: Culinary Tourism, Attractions, Accessibility, Facilities

Abstract

This research we gather are to know the differences from the guest’s satisfaction on the reservation between booking from various online travel agents and the hotel website for Nagoya Mansion Hotel.This research are using the methods of quantities description focusing on the topic we discuss. The amount we gather from our guest are as many as 100 guests. Furthermore the technique for gathering its data for this research by observing and documentation. We have put the data into a likert scale with four indicators. These indicator are hotel convenience, hotel price, hotel loyalist and hotel knowledge which these evaluation of the guest’s satisfactory on the reservation made by booking from various online travel agents and the hotel website which personally booked by the hotel guest. With the research that we have gathered, there are not much differences with the guest’s satisfactory on the two methods for reservation.The median satisfaction of guests who make Reservation at Online Travel Agents are is obtained in the amount of 38,18. While the median of the satisfaction of guests who make reservation via the hotel website is 37,46. (9,24 > 0,71) Its conclusion is H0 is rejected and HA is received, which means there is a relationship between the Online Travel Agent Reservation Method and Website Hotel Reservation Method.Keywords: Room Reservastion, Guests Satisfaction, Reservation

Abstract

Human Resource Management is very important in a company, one of which is engaged in the hotel industry. The Company provides fair and reasonable compensation to employees is expected to motivate employees to improve their performance. The purpose of this research are: (1) to know the compensation policy given to the employees by the management of Grand Central hotel Pekanbaru; (2) to find out the general description of employees performance of food and beverage at grand central hotel; (3) to know the compensation relationship to employees' performance of food and beverage department at grand central hotel Pekanbaru. Data processing is done by Product moment Correlation test from Pearson. From the results of the study concluded that there is a positive and significant relationship between compensation with employee performance in the company. Shown with the results of correlation coefficient test (R) of 0.836 with a significance of 0.000.Keywords: compensation, employee performance

Abstract

In this research using descriptive qualitative research method, there is a purpose to know how the decomposition of village tourism participation in Management of Godang Malayu House in Koto Sentajo Village Sentajo Raya Sub-district Kuantan Singingi Regency. In addition, this research is also trying to identify and identify the factors driving the community in the Management of Objects of Godang Malayu Home TourismBased on the results of research that has been done there are results showing the management of Rumah Godang Malayu conducted by the community in the Village Tourism Koto Sentajo District Sentajo Raya district kuantan singing province riau very good overall. It is based on the results of interviews and observations used by the author. In addition, the management conducted by the people of Desa Wisata is supported by several factors such as the desire of the community to preserve their ancestral heritage, the building of Godang House into a tourist attraction in Koto Sentajo Tourism Village, and the belief of the people of Koto Sentajo Tourism Village will be their cultural customs.Keywords: Participation, Management, Society, Tourism Village

Abstract

ABSTRAK Pariwisata telah menjadikan Yogyakarta sebagai salah satu provinsi paling majemuk di Indonesia. Kemajemukan menyimpan bahaya laten, berupa potensi gesekan pada masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengungkap perkembangan pariwisata di Yogyakarta serta dampak sosial budaya yang mengikutinya dengan fokus kepada faktor yang mendorong terwujudnya integrasi sosial masyarakat Yogyakarta. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian terapan social impact ini adalah eksploratori kualitatif, yang dilakukan dalam rentang waktu satu tahun. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi komprehensif, in-depth interview, dokumentasi, komparasi historis, serta didukung data kuantitatif non-reaktif. Selanjutnya, analisa penelitian lebih banyak ditekankan pada analisis literatur yang dilakukan secara deskriptif. Kemajemukan di Yogyakarta ada semenjak dulu, perkembangan pariwisata semakin mempertegas kemajemukan masyarakat. Interaksi sosial yang terjadi  berujung pada konflik sosial atau terciptanya integrasi sosial di masyarakat. Namun nilai kerukunan dan rasa hormat, serta budaya gotong royong ditambah dengan figur positif dari Raja Yogyakarta, Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X telah mampu memperkecil konflik yang terjadi selama ini. Kata kunci: Dampak Sosial Budaya; Masyarakat Majemuk; Konflik Sosial; Integrasi Sosial; Pariwisata; Yogyakarta ABSTRACT Tourism makes Yogyakarta one of the most diverse provinces in Indonesia. Pluralism holds latent threats in the form of potential animosities in society. This study aims to uncover the tourism development in Yogyakarta and its socio-cultural impact, focusing on factors that encourage the social integration of the people. The method in these applied social impact research is qualitative exploratory, carried out in one year. Data collection is carried out with comprehensive observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, historical comparison, and supported by non-reactive quantitative data. Furthermore, we emphasized the research in the analysis of literature. Pluralism in Yogyakarta has always existed. Tourism development further increased diversity. Social interactions that occur will lead to social conflict or the creation of social integration in society. However, the value of harmony, respect, and cooperation culture, coupled with a definite figure from the King of Yogyakarta, has been able to minimize conflicts in the community. Keywords: Socio-Cultural Impacts; Pluralism; Social conflicts; Social Integration; Tourism; Yogyakarta
