Abstract

ABSTRACTResearch aimed to examine the effect of giving Complete Rumen Modifier on the intake and digestibility of Crude Protein (CP) feed of Bali bulls. The material used is 3 male Balinese cows, the feed given consists of concentrate 2% of the cow's body weight and voluntary feed intake hay. The concentrate is composed of onggok 38,58%, rice bran 14,29%, coconut cake 13,14%, palm cake 10%, pollard 9,43%, molasses 4,86%, coffee husk 4,8%, dolomite 1,43%, aminosine 1,2%, salt 0,86%, urea 0,86%, zeolite 0,57%, and minerals 0,28%. The composition of CRM consists of noni leaf flour 30%, cassava vine leaf meal 30%, dry tea pulp 30%, Saccharomyches cerevisiae 3%, methionin 2%, urea 1% and sulfur 4%. The research used the experimental method of Latin Square Design, there were three treatments tested, namely P0 (concentrate 2% body weight cow and straw voluntary feed intake), P1 (P0 + CRM 0.5% from Dry Matter concentrate), and P2 (P0 + CRM 1% from concentrate). The variables measured are intake and Digestibility of crude protein, the data obtained were tested using analysis of variance and differences in treatment with the Orthogonal Polynomial test. The results of the analysis of variance showed that the treated feed given CRM had no significant effect (P>0.05) on PK digestibility. Meanwhile, PK consumption had a significant effect (P<0.05) on feed treated with P1 and P2 compared to P0. The conclusion obtained from this study is that the provision of CRM can increase consumption of PK while the digestibility of PK decreases when given CRM.

Abstract

Background. The purpose of the study were 1. To know the population of beef cattle and ruminant of each sub-district in Banyumas Regency; 2. To know the trend of beef cattle population from 2014 to 2019 in Banyumas Regency; 3. To analyze the development potential of beef cattle in Banyumas Regency based on the LQ index; 4. To know the potential development of beef cattle in Banyumas Regency based on the potential of climatology. Materials and Methods. The study used secondary data as primary data, secondary data were obatined from official government websites from 2014 to 2019. The data analysis were population trend analysis, and LQ analysis which were then described descriptively. Results. The results showed that the cattle population of cattle experienced a very small increase. The base areas of cattle development based on LQ > 1 index were: Kembaran, Sokaraja, Kalibagor, Sumbang, Kedung banteng, Baturraden, Jatilawang, and Cilongok. Conclusion. The environmental temperature and rainfall of Banyumas Regency were ideal for the development of beef cattle.

Abstract

Backgorund. Strategy to Increase Adoption of Waste Processing Technology in Beef Cattle Farmers in Bawang District, Banjarnegara Regency. Beef cattle population was still quite a large population in the District of Bawang, so there was the potential for livestock manure waste which has great potential to be utilized. Breeders intend to earn income by only selling livestock and have not been able to optimize livestock manure waste. If the use of manure is managed effectively and efficiently, it will produce organic fertilizers with high economic value. This can increase the utilization of livestock manure, increase income and reduce environmental pollution. The study was conducted on March 16-29, 2020 and located in Bawang District, Banjarnegara Regency. The research aims to determine the stage where farmers are in the adoption process, identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in the process of waste treatment technology, strategies for improving waste treatment technology. Materials and Methods. The study used a survey method with a sampling method that was conducting interviews using questionnaires. The sampling technique consists of two stages: the first stage of determining the area sample was done by purposive sampling method (intentionally). The second stage was the sampling technique of respondents carried out by the census method of breeders with 40 respondents. Conditions for farmers a minimum of 1 year breeders and have at least one head of cattle found in the villages of Winong, Kutayasa and Majalengka. Research using a questionnaire with a Likert scale. Analysis using SWOT analysis by formulating strategies using SWOT matrix analysis. Results. The results of the stages of adoption of waste treatment technology in Bawang sub-district breeders, the majority of farmers were in the stage of evaluation means that they already have an awareness of interest, evaluation in livestock waste treatment technology, but do not know the impact further. The solution given was that farmers must provide time and energy in waste treatment and the courage to try to make independent organic fertilizer. The chosen strategy was improve breeders' knowledge and skills so that breeders are more capable and interested in processing livestock manure waste.

Abstract

Backgrund. This study aims to determine breeders 'knowledge and local feeding skills for beef cattle and to analyze the relationship between breeders' knowledge and local feeding skills for beef cattle in Bawang District, Banjarnegara Regency. The characteristics of breeders 'skills studied were farmer education level, age of breeders, and length of breeding in feeding balance, composition of feed and frequency of local feeding as well as breeders' knowledge of local feed. Materials and Methods. The research method used is a survey method. The determination of the sample area was carried out by purposive sampling method, namely taking areas that have a group of beef cattle breeders in Bawang District. Respondents were collected using the census method, namely by selecting members of the livestock farmer groups who were active and kept livestock in the last one year. The total number of respondents was 40 people, and the test used was the descriptive test and the Spearman rank correlation test. Results. The results showed that the level of knowledge of breeders in Bawang District was in the medium category. Skills in moderate feed composition, not skilled in determining the balance of feed and very skilled in frequency of feeding. The results of the spearman rank correlation analysis between breeders' knowledge and local feeding skills have a significant relationship with a strong correlation value of 0,411. This illustrates that with sufficient knowledge, the skills of farmers are sufficiently supportive in providing local feed to livestock. Knowledge has a positive influence on breeders' skills, so that increased knowledge about local feed will also be followed by increasing farmer skills in local feeding. Conclusion. The conclusion of the study is that there is a correlation between breeders' knowledge and local feeding skills in the highly skilled category of feeding frequency.
