Abstract

This research uses the Monte Carlo density distribution model to study the structure and mass distribution of galaxies and the dark matter phenomenon. Through computer simulations, the research developed a mathematical model with parameters such as rho0, rc, beta, and others, to describe the structure and mass distribution of galaxies. The results show that the model can reproduce various galaxy structures, including groups, clusters and filaments, and influence the behavior and characteristics of individual galaxies. This research provides a deeper understanding of dark matter and its impact on the evolution of the universe. It has implications for improving our understanding of dark matter and the use of Monte Carlo density distribution models to study galaxies. This study provides new insights into the evolution of galaxies and their relationship with dark matter in cosmology. Using both physics and mathematical concepts, this research helps to understand the phenomenon of dark matter and the structure of galaxies, and provides a basis for further research on dark matter and galaxy evolution.

Abstract

This study explores key aspects of cosmology, starting with the foundational FLRW equations that describe the universe's evolution, emphasizing its homogeneity and isotropy. We incorporate mass viscosity into these equations, shedding light on its role in shaping the universe. Observations of Type Ia supernovae inform our understanding of cosmological parameters, including the Hubble rate and dark energy's effects on cosmic expansion. Cosmic Microwave Background fluctuations are analyzed for insights into cosmic structure. Baryon Acoustic Oscillations provide additional data for estimating critical parameters. We also examine the Hubble Parameter to understand its relation to cosmological parameters. Lastly, we introduce statefinder analysis, unveiling the universe's behavior through key indicators like "r" and "s." This study offers comprehensive insights into cosmology and the universe's evolution.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Problem Based Learning on Student Learning Outcomes in Momentum and Impulse Material in SMA Negeri 14 Medan A.Y.2018 / 2019. This study used the quasi-experimental method with the research design of two desaign pretest-posttest groups. The population of this study was all students of class X SMA 14 Medan. The sampling technique used cluster random sampling consisting of two classes with a total sample of 66 students. The instruments used were essay tests totaling 9 validated items and observation sheets for student learning activities. Analysis can be done by testing normality, homogeneity and t. The results of the study showed that there were differences in student learning outcomes taught by using problem-based learning models with a posttest average value of 76.79 compared to students who were taught with conventional learning with a posttest average value of 67.73. From these results, it can be concluded that the problem-based learning model is better used in improving student learning outcomes.Keywords: Learning Activities, Learning Outcomes, Problem Based Learning

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the problem based learning (PBL) model on students' creative thinking skills in simple harmonic materials in the second semester X class of SMA Negeri 1 Batang Kuis. The research method used was quasi-experimental with the design of two group pre-test post-test. The population of this study was all class X IPA 4 as the experimental class applied PBL model and in class X IPA 3 as the control class applied a conventional model, each class as many as 32 students. The data of this study were obtained using an instrument in the form of an essay test consisting of a test of creative thinking skills, each amounting to 5 items that have been declared valid. Analysis can be done using normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis testing. The finding of the data analysis obtained the average posttest value of creative thinking skills experiment class 68.5 and the average value of the control class 59.18. The posttest data t test results There are significant differences in creative thinking skills between students who learn to use the PBL model and students who learn to use conventional models.Keywords: Creative Thinking Skills, Problem Based Learning, Simple Harmonic

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the effect of the Inquiry Training Model on students' critical thinking skills. This research design uses two group pretest-posttest technique. All of Student Class X in SMA Negeri 1 Stabat was the population of this research. Then two classes were selected as samples of the study, one class as an experimental class is taught using the Inquiry Training learning model while the other class as a control is taught using a conventional learning model. The research data collection instrument was in the form of 5 validated essay tests which would later be analyzed using the t test. The results of the study indicate that the inquiry training learning model has a significant impact on increasing students' critical thinking skills compared to students learning with conventional models on momentum and impulse material.Keywords: Inquiry Training, Critical Thinking Skill, Momentum and Impulse

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di Desa Kolam Kecamatan Percut Sei Tuan Kabupaten Deli Serdang, Sumatera Utara. Permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra yaitu teknologi pengolahan masih tradisional sehingga mitra mengalami kesusahan dalam memenuhi kuantitas yang dibutuhkan dalam waktu singkat, khususnya teknologi dalam pemerasan dan penggiling bahan baku, dan penyusunan laporan keuangan. Sehubungan dengan permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra, maka pada program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini akan diwujudkan dengan mentransferkan alat/mesin penggiling jamu, pelatihan pembukuan dan manajemen keuangan. Metode yang digunakan untuk mencapai tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah metode pendidikan, sosialisasi, pendampingan peningkatan produk, pelatihan pembukuan dan manajemen usaha. Hasil kegiatan ini berupa telah diberikannya alat TTG Mesin penggiling jamu, serta diadakannya pelatihan serta pendampingan manajemen usaha dan pembukuan keuangan. Tingkat keberhasilan dari kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat di buktikan dengan peningkatan produksi, pendapatan dan pengetahuan mitra

Abstract

The availability of effective and standardized documentation Standard Operational Procedure (SOP) and business processes of Medan State University (Unimed) creates an effective and efficient bureaucracy, maintains the quality and consistency of campus services and achieving the campus vision. In fact, there are still unstandardized SOP and business processes based on two Ministerial Regulations (PERMENPAN RB) No. 19 in 2018 and No. 35 in 2012. Due to the limited number of human resources who understand, it is necessary to improve the ability of human resources to compile effective and standardized SOP and business processes. This workshop activity reached out to all faculty and postgraduate program participants. The tool used to develop SOP and business processes is the Bizagi application

Abstract

Program Kemitraan Masyarakat ini dilaksanakan pada usaha bakery, Novri Bakrie dan Dapoer Bunda B&B, yang berlokasi di Desa Sidomulyo, Kecamatan Binjai, Kabupaten Langkat, sekitar 35 km dari Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat Universitas Negeri Medan, dengan jarak tempuh sekitar satu jam perjalanan menggunakan mobil. Para mitra menghadapi beberapa tantangan, yaitu: 1) Produk yang dihasilkan belum mampu memenuhi kebutuhan penjualan karena keterbatasan kapasitas peralatan yang dimiliki, 2) Peralatan produksi yang sudah usang, sederhana, dan tidak higienis, 3) Minimnya modal usaha yang menyebabkan mitra tidak mampu mengganti peralatan yang ada saat ini, 4) Manajemen usaha yang masih sederhana dan catatan pembukuan yang kurang memadai, serta 5) Pembukuan yang masih dilakukan secara manual. Metode pendekatan yang digunakan dalam program pengabdian ini meliputi pelatihan, pendampingan, dan demonstrasi penggunaan alat. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah penyerahan alat Teknologi Tepat Guna (TTG) berupa oven roti, disertai praktik penggunaannya, serta pelatihan dan pendampingan dalam manajemen usaha dan pembukuan yang lebih terstruktur, rapi, dan praktis.

Abstract

Research has been done on the Characteristics of Concrete with a Mix of Red Sand Grain Size 80 Mesh Post-burning. This study aims to determine the characteristics of concrete with a mixture of red sand grain size 80 Mesh Post-burning on the compressive strength, porosity and structure of the concrete. The test object is a cube of 15 cm x 15 cm x 15 cm with concrete quality K-225. In this study, variations in the composition of 80 mesh size red sand were made of 0%, 2%, 3% and 4%. After the concrete is 24 hours old, the mold is opened and given a sample code and treated in an immersion water bath. After going through an immersion period of 28 days, the concrete was burned in an oven with temperature variations of 400℃, 550℃, 700℃ and 850℃ and tested. The test methods used are compressive strength, porosity and Scanning Electron Microscope Energy Dispersive X-Ray (SEM-EDX). From the test results obtained the maximum average compressive strength obtained in concrete with a mixture of red sand of 4% with a temperature of 550℃. From the results of the porosity test, there was a decrease in the concrete with the addition of red sand by 4%. From the results of the SEM test, the concrete structure with a mixture of red sand has fewer and smaller cavities. From the results of the EDX test on concrete with a mixture of red sand, Calcium (Ca) and Stibium (Sb) elements have increased intensity when compared to normal concrete. From the XRD test results obtained elements - elements SiO2 (Silicon Oxide), Ca(OH)2 (Calcium Hydroxide) and CaO3 (Calcite) with the highest intensity is SiO2.

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat ini berfokus pada peningkatan produktivitas UMKM May's Kitchen di Desa Mangga Dua, Kecamatan Tanjung Beringin, Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai, melalui penerapan teknologi tepat guna. Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi mitra adalah keterbatasan teknologi produksi, khususnya dalam proses pemanggangan kue kukus, yang berdampak pada kualitas dan daya saing produk. Untuk mengatasi hal ini, tim pengabdi mengimplementasikan pendekatan terpadu meliputi edukasi, pelatihan, dan pendampingan intensif. Inti dari program adalah introduksi oven pemanggang kue kukus berkapasitas 6 loyang dengan 1 rak berbahan stainless steel. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan efisiensi produksi hingga tiga kali lipat, disertai perbaikan signifikan pada kualitas dan konsistensi produk. Evaluasi pasca-program mengindikasikan peningkatan pengetahuan mitra sebesar 85% mencakup aspek teknis operasional, food safety, dan quality control. Analisis ekonomi memproyeksikan penurunan biaya produksi hingga 20% dan potensi peningkatan margin keuntungan 15-20%.
