Abstract

Remission constitutes a right granted to inmates who meet specific requirements as a form of recognition for good behavior during imprisonment. This study aims to examine the requirements for granting remission to correctional inmates and analyze the societal impacts when remission is given to convicts of corruption, terrorism, and narcotics offenses. The research employs a normative juridical approach through a literature study. The findings demonstrate that remission possesses a clear legal foundation encompassing both general and specific requirements, particularly for perpetrators of serious crimes. General requirements include serving at least six months of imprisonment, demonstrating good behavior, and actively participating in guidance programs. For special crime perpetrators, additional requirements apply, including becoming justice collaborators, paying fines and compensation, and participating in deradicalization programs. However, granting remission to special crime convicts generates negative impacts on public perception of justice, deterrence effects, and the integrity of law enforcement. The research concludes that a more selective and accountable remission policy supported by public oversight is necessary to align with the objectives of correctional guidance and legal justice.

Abstract

The perfume industry in Indonesia has grown significantly as public awareness of self-care increases, supported by lifestyle developments among Millennials and Generation Z and the influence of social media. Saff & Co.is a local brand that has shown positive growth, although its e-commerce market share fluctuated during 2022–2025. This study aims to identify consumer characteristics, perfume consumption and purchasing behavior; analyze the influence of price, product quality, brand image, and social media influencers (SMI) on purchasing decisions; examine the effect of SMI on brand image; and assess the mediating role of brand image between SMI and purchasing decisions. Data were collected from 167 respondents through an online survey using voluntary sampling in the Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek) area. Descriptive analysis shows that most respondents learned about Saff & Co.through social media, select perfumes primarily based on scent, and prioritize product quality over other factors when purchasing. SEM analysis indicates that product quality, price, and brand image significantly influence purchasing decisions. SMI do not directly affect purchasing decisions but have a significant indirect effect through brand image. The company should focus on improving product quality, managing prices that align with consumer value perceptions, and selecting credible influencers to consistently strengthen brand image.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of service quality on student satisfaction and its subsequent effect on student loyalty at Politeknik Negeri Jakarta (PNJ). A survey method was employed, with a sample of 312 respondents selected using purposive sampling. The collected data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with LISREL software to assess the relationships between the variables. The findings reveal that service quality has a positive and significant impact on student satisfaction, which, in turn, significantly influences student loyalty. Specifically, the dimensions of service quality, such as tangible aspects, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy, were found to play critical roles in shaping students' perceptions of satisfaction and their subsequent loyalty to the institution. These results provide valuable insights for Politeknik Negeri Jakarta, suggesting that improvements in service quality can lead to enhanced student satisfaction and foster long-term student loyalty. Based on these findings, the study recommends that the institution focus on continuous improvement of its service quality, particularly in the areas identified as most influential, to build stronger relationships with students and improve overall institutional performance.

Abstract

This study examines the application of restorative justice in traffic accidents during the investigation stage. The main focus of this research is to analyze the regulations and implementation process. The goal is to comprehensively describe how restorative justice policies are regulated by law and how they are practiced in the field, particularly by investigators. The research method used is a juridical- normative method with a qualitative approach. Data were obtained through literature review and in-depth interviews with relevant parties. The results indicate that restorative justice can be applied in resolving traffic accident cases, especially those resulting in minor losses or minor injuries. This regulation is contained in various regulations, such as Police Regulations and Circular Letters that serve as guidelines for investigators. The implementation process involves mediation between the perpetrator, the victim, and other relevant parties to reach a peaceful agreement. This agreement often includes compensation, an apology, or other mutually agreed-upon forms of reparation. The application of restorative justice aims to restore conditions to normal, restore social relationships, and avoid lengthy formal judicial processes. However, its implementation still faces challenges, such as unequal public legal awareness and the criteria for cases that can be resolved through restorative justice.
