Abstract

The use of Antibiotic Growth Promoters (AGPs) in the poultry industry led to farmers’ dependence on antibiotics. Therefore, a safer alternative feed additive, such as fulvic acid, was needed. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of fulvic acid extracted from oil palm empty fruit bunches (FA-OPEFB) as a feed additive on broiler chickens’ digestive tract and intestinal morphology. A total of 150 broiler chickens were used in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of three treatments and five replications: P0 (drinking water without FA-OPEFB), P1 (drinking water with 0.1% FA-OPEFB), and P2 (drinking water with 0.2% FA-OPEFB). Observed variables included the relative weight and length of the digestive tract and intestinal morphology. The results showed that the addition of FA-OPEFB in drinking water significantly affected the ileum percentage, villus height, crypt depth, and villus surface area. It was concluded that 0.2% FA-OPEFB in drinking water reduced the relative weight and length of the ileum and improved intestinal morphology in broiler chickens. Key words:           broiler chicken, digestive tract, fulvic acid, intestinal morphology, OPEFB

Abstract

This study explores the relationship between economic and environmental performance and firm value in the consumer non-cyclical sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2020–2023. The sample consists of companies that consistently published sustainability reports. Economic performance is measured using Economic Value Added (EVA) is a comprehensive and to reflect long-term value creation, Meanwhile, environmental performance is evaluated based on ESG ratings published by the BGK Foundation. To determine firm value, Tobin’s Q is used as the main indicator, with leverage introduced as a control factor to account for capital structure influence. A quantitative method is employed, utilizing secondary data. A total of 18 companies were purposively selected, resulting in 72 observations over four years. The analysis uses panel data regression, beginning with descriptive statistics, followed by model selection, classical assumption tests, and hypothesis testing. The findings indicate that EVA has a significant positive effect on firm value, suggesting that strong economic performance enhances market valuation. In contrast, ESG scores are found to negatively influence firm value, implying that higher environmental disclosures may not align with investor expectations in this context. Simultaneous testing confirms the overall significance of the independent variables, while leverage does not show a notable impact.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to enhance the capacity of social enterprise actors in Batam City through training and mentoring on the use of digital applications. Social enterprise is a form of enterprise that is not only profit-oriented but also has a social mission to create a positive impact on the community. Prior to the training, the implementation team conducted interviews and data collection to identify the level of digital literacy, technology needs, and challenges faced by the social enterprise actors. The data collection results showed that most social enterprise actors have high motivation to develop but are still limited in their mastery of digital technology and online marketing. The digital application training activities, carried out by lecturers and students of the Batam State Polytechnic, were then focused on the use of Microsoft Excel and Canva digital applications. These two applications were chosen based on the priority needs of the Social Enterprises, which are expected to assist in financial management, promotion, and increasing the operational efficiency of their social businesses. Through this training, social enterprise actors are expected to be able to optimize digital technology to expand the social and economic impact of their businesses. This activity is a strategic step in driving digital transformation based on community empowerment.
