Abstract

Individual mechanism to avoid reality is represented by the weakness in seeing themselves objectively. Avoiding behavior is discussed in two part :defense mechanism and defense tactic. Defense mechanism meaning as unconscious behavior coming out from a person to fulfilling his needs, or behavior that avoid (not accept) something he doesn’t want. Defense tactic has the same concept with defense mechanism but different on the source. The important thing is the counselee should not make a self defense. It can be done by an effective communication between the counselor and counselee. The counselor ability in counseling basic skill will be a preventive way that avoid the counselee in defense mechanism and tactic .Keywords : defense mechanism, defense tactics

Abstract

Early development of counseling and psychotherapy is influenced by psychodynamic, respectively influences cognitive / behavioristik, and humanistic perspectives into the paradigm system of guidance and counseling. Paradigm shift aimed at the effectiveness of guidance and counseling not provide justification that the earlier theories are not well. Another important thing that must be understood by the counselor are all theories of counseling and psychotherapy have contributed in accordance with the concept and view of man with the attributes of the Problem. Shift towards preventive-seen significant growth for the period in which the learners should be given an equal opportunity to thrive.

Abstract

Group counseling is one kind of counseling service strategies. The difference concept of both group counseling and individual is that the group counseling emphasizes toward social interaction of the members. The group counseling discuses integrated approach which combines group dynamic interaction and counselors’ personal competencies. The goal of group counseling is to change the group behavior members based on that group interaction. The group processes are applied for children group teenagers, adults and elderlyadapted to their development characteristics.Keywords: counseling, groups counseling

Abstract

Moral awareness is a condition where the individual understands and comprehends the actions taken, both in the past, present, and future and realizes how the impact of behavior carried out both for oneself, others, and the surrounding. The purpose of this study is to find out how is the strategies of guidance and counseling teacher to increasing the moral awareness of students so far. This research is a qualitative type of phenomenology research. The data were collected through observation and interviews. The participants of the interviews were guidance and counseling teachers who teach in high schools which were chosen randomly. The data which were obtained from interviews were analyzed using the Miles & Huberman qualitative research model. The results showed the guidance and counseling teachers’ strategies in increasing moral awareness mostly through group guidance, group counseling, individual counseling, and responsive services with lecturing method, discussion, short film, and modeling.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop a new scale, Smartphone addiction scale for Student (SAS-S) was developed to measure the level of smartphone addiction in high school students. A total of 32 item scales were developed through literature studies. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) is used to examine the structure of factors formed in this scale. The results show the Smartphone addiction scale for Student (SAS-S) has 22 good items from 6 factor structures that are formed, including: (1) Self Control Disorder, (2) loss of time, (3) sleep disturbances, (4) can not be without smartphones, (5) changes in feelings and, (6) concerned smartphone. SAS-S is a good scale that can be used by any high school student. Another point also shows that the scale of smartphone addiction for high school students has a strong level of validity and reliability.

Abstract

In the last decade, the problem of child sexual violence is very prevalent, therefore the need for the application of sex education in elementary school children. This is done to provide knowledge about sex education that is tailored to the stage of child development and to avoid the danger of predators of violence and sexual abuse. Providing knowledge about sex education will be better if there are supporting media in its delivery. Regarding the good media in teaching sex education to elementary school children there are currently two namely electronic and print media. Although there are two media to introduce sex education, but they have not shown maximum results, both media have their advantages and disadvantages. This paper aims to review the literature in the delivery of sex education in elementary schools using electronic and print media. The results or reviews in this discussion are expected to provide information that can be used as a theoretical and methodological basis for further research in the use of sex education delivery media for elementary students.

Abstract

Persoalan bias gender menimbulkan berbagai permasalahan, seperti marginalisasi, subordinasi, stereotip, beban kerja, dan kekerasan. Pergeseran paradigma dalam konseling yang semula berorientasi pada intrapsikis bergeser ke arah ekstrapsikis yang akan mempengaruhi keadaan emosional dan phisik lebih baik, membawa implikasi mendasar pada pelaksanaan konseling. Artikel ini melakukan kajian pandangan gender, khususnya feminis, pada kasus kekerasan dalam rumah tangga.

Abstract

Since the enactment of the large-scale repatriation of students at several Islamic boarding schools, followed by PSBB, regional quarantine, to the new normal, it cannot be denied that students and Islamic boarding schools have become an integral part affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The process of good adaptation in responding to challenges with the strength of determination and adversity in the context of psychology is called resilience. This study aims to determine the use of a gratitude journal to increase student resilience in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. The research method used is literature study. The findings of this study are as a form of expression or a form of gratitude, students in Islamic boarding schools are already accustomed to expressing in the form of prayer. Few are aware of the importance of expressing gratitude appropriately and consistently. Making a gratitude journal can be an effective medium for expressing gratitude every day. Also as material for reflection and evaluation to be better tomorrow. Counselors at Islamic boarding schools can use a gratitude journal in providing guidance and counseling services, both in individual and group settings.
