Abstract

This research aims to discuss the implementation of gender and ecology mainstreaming policies in Sekolah penggerak in elementary schools and eco-green schools in Surabaya through an ecofeminist approach. This research uses a qualitative multi-case study approach, with the research subjects being four schools, namely SD Negeri 2 Benowo, SD Muhammadiyah 4 Surabaya, SD Al Khairiyah Surabaya, and SD Kristen Kalam Kudus Surabaya. The research results show that schools with the Adiwiyata or similar labels can better implement ecological awareness programs such as green and eco-green schools. They adopt programs such as hydroponics, recycling, and zero-waste healthy canteens and integrate them into the curriculum with relevant themes. Apart from that, these schools also apply the principles of gender-oriented, child-friendly schools. This research examines how gender mainstreaming and ecology are practised in schools. Both in the form of policies, learning design and related infrastructure. The results of this research illustrate that although there has been progress in implementing gender mainstreaming and ecology policies in schools, further efforts are still needed to increase students' understanding and awareness of these issues. In some aspects, gender and ecological approaches still seem symbolic and insubstantial.

Abstract

Learning in elementary schools involves various challenges and problems, especially those related to students' developmental characteristics. Teachers are expected to be able to design and implement learning that is appropriate to students' cognitive, social and emotional development. Students' learning motivation in elementary schools can be a serious obstacle, affecting the achievement of learning outcomes. Classroom management is considered the key to creating an effective learning atmosphere and motivating students. This research aims to determine the classroom management patterns implemented by elementary school teachers in the city of Surabaya regarding the problem of low student learning motivation. This research is qualitative research with a multi case study type, using the Explanatory Survey method. The informants consisted of 23 elementary school teachers in the city of Surabaya, selected using a cluster random sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through interviews, and data analysis was carried out descriptively qualitatively. The research results show that the main obstacle in learning is students' passivity and noise which is triggered by low learning motivation. Some teachers apply a Student-Centered Learning (SCL) approach to overcome this problem, placing students as active subjects. Classroom rules, learning contracts, and inspirational stories are considered effective classroom management strategies. Teachers also provide interactive feedback and emphasize an emotional approach to increase students' sensitivity.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries with a low level of literacy and numeracy skills. The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) continues to strive to realize a culture of literacy and numeracy and encourage Indonesian people to be able to improve literacy and numeracy skills. Literacy and numeracy are very important skills that are built early and practiced from an early age so that they like literacy and make children a fun habit. The method used in research is a qualitative approach, because researchers want to explore the development, application, and impact of learning media. The research took place at SD Muhammadiyah 24 Surabaya. In data collection researchers use observation, interviews and documentation. Researchers use triangulation techniques to check the validity of the data in this study and activities in data analysis, namely data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. This research is expected to contribute to the development of skills in facing 21st century education in the digital era, as well as produce scientific work that contributes to the development of science and technology.

Abstract

Nowadays, it has become a trust issue, about violence and sexual harassment in the Islamic boarding school environment. In addition to parenting patterns, a gender-fair approach is also an aspect that needs to be studied. This study aims to analyze the prevention of violence and a gender-equality approach in Muhammadiyah boarding schools in East Java. This research is a qualitative study. The subjects of the study were selected using a purposive method, they are the chief and caregivers of the boarding school in two Islamic boarding schools located in Sidoarjo Regency and Lamongan Regency, East Java. The research data collection technique was carried out using 3 (three) methods, observation, documentation, and interviews. The data analysis technique used descriptive analysis. The study showed that in terms of preventing violence, Muhammadiyah Islamic boarding schools use a parenting pattern strategy that prioritizes child-friendly principles, and minimizes physical punishment, with the concept of rahmatan lil alamin. Meanwhile, in terms of preventing sexual abuse, education is considered less massive and has not touched on the substantive realm across genders. Furthermore, a gender-fair approach is shown by equality in access to opportunities for male and female students in organizational leadership, as well as in the practice of preaching.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat tentang sosialisasi pendidikan seks pada guru dan murid untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan terkait kekerasan seksual pada anak sebagai upaya pencegahan terjadinya kekerasan seksual pada anak. Fenomena grooming ini menjadi sorotan khususnya bagi warga Indonesia belum lama ini yaitu tepatnya pada Juli 2019 lalu saat pelaku didapati melakukan kejahatan grooming saat dirinya masih menjadi narapidana eksploitasi dan kejahatan seksual terhadap anak. Pengabdian ini juga dilatarbelakangi oleh hasil dari Kasus pelecehan seksual pada anak yang semakin meningkat pertahunnya sehingga perlu dilakukan pencegahan melalui edukasi seks pada anak. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah pendampingan dan pelatihan yang terdiri dari tiga tahap yaitu persiapan, pelaksanaan dan monev. Setelah dilakukannya program pengabdian ini, kemampuan guru dan murid menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan seks dapat meningkatkan pemahaman guru dan murid terkait kekerasan seksual.

Abstract

Indonesia merupakan negara megabiodiversitas salah satunya adalah keberagaman tumbuhan. Tumbuhan memiliki manfaat penting dalam kehidupan masyarakat. Pemanfaatan ini penting untuk dikemas dalam bentuk inventarisasi. Inventarisasi memiliki manfaat dalam pengembangan pendidikan lingkungan atau ekopedagogi berbasis kearifan lokal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi inventarisasi pemanfaatan tumbuhan oleh masyarakat lokal, dan mendeskripsikan kerangka konseptual relevansi hasil inventarisasi sebagai sumber pembelajaran ekopedagogik berbasis kearifan lokal. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Paciran, pesisir Utara Kabupaten Lamongan Jawa Timur. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan analisis deskriptif. Pengumpulan data inventarisasi dilakukan melalui wawancara informan kunci, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan analisis relevansi inventarisasi pemanfaatan tumbuhan sebagai sumber pembelajaran ekopedagogik berbasis kearifan lokal dengan pendekatan studi pustaka. Temuan penelitian ini sebanyak 46 spesies tumbuhan dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat lokal, didominasi pemanfaatan sebagai obat. Informasi tersebut relevan dikembangkan sebagai sumber pembelajaran ekopedagogik berbasis kearifan lokal. Langkah-langkah yang ditempuh adalah merumuskan data potensi daerah dalam hal ini adalah inventarisasi pemanfaatan tumbuhan oleh masyarakat lokal, kemudian data yang tersedia dikembangkan menjadi sumber pembelajaran ekopedagogik melalui berbagai model pengembangan. Indonesia is a megabiodiversity country, one of which is the diversity of plants. Plants have important benefits in people's lives. This utilization is important to package in the form of an inventory. Inventory has benefits in the development of environmental education or ecopedagogy based on local wisdom. This study aimed to identify an inventory of plant utilization by local society, and describe the conceptual framework for the relevance of inventory results as a source of ecopedagogic learning based on local wisdom. This research was located in Paciran Village, north coastal area of Lamongan Regency, East Java. This research was a qualitative research with descriptive analysis. Inventory data collection was carried out through interviews of key informants, then the research was continued with an analysis of the relevance of inventorying the use of plants as a source of ecopedagogic learning based on local wisdom with a literature study approach. This study resulted that 46 plants species were used by local society, dominated by medicinal use. This information was relevant to develop as a source of ecopedagogic learning based on local wisdom. The steps taken were to formulate regional potential data and in this case was an inventory of plant utilization by local society, then the available data was developed into a source of ecopedagogic learning through various development models.

Abstract

Knowledge and preparedness in facing natural disasters is very important, especially for students who are in disaster-prone areas such as the coastal area of ​​Kenjeran, Surabaya. Based on interviews with the principal and teachers at SD Muhammadiyah 9 Surabaya, it is known that the low understanding of students and teachers about disaster mitigation triggers feelings of anxiety and fear about potential disasters that could occur at any time. To overcome this problem, this research implemented Virtual Reality (VR) technology as a medium for disaster mitigation education at SD Muhammadiyah 9 Kenjeran. VR technology was chosen because of its ability to provide a simulation experience that is close to real situations, so it is hoped that it can increase students' and teachers' understanding and resilience in facing crises. This service aims to provide counseling and outreach to teachers and students with VR learning media at SD Muhammadiyah 9 Kenjeran Surabaya. The approach to solving partner problems is to focus on students' understanding of disaster mitigation with VR-based education and the impact of post-disaster psychological problems. The research results show an increase in students' understanding of disaster mitigation measures, as well as an increase in self-confidence in facing disaster threats after implementing VR. Another positive impact is a reduction in students' anxiety and fear levels, which shows that VR-based simulations are effective in preparing students to face emergency situations. The conclusion is that the use of VR technology as a medium for disaster mitigation education can be an effective alternative for increasing students' readiness in facing disasters in coastal areas.

Abstract

Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi oleh masyarakat mitra yakni kelompok keluarga nelayan Bulak Kota Surabaya adalah permasalahan ekonomi dan rendahnya literasi keluarga. Terutama literasi tentang pencegahan kekerasan seksual. Fakta di lapangan juga menunjukkan bahwa angka lulusan SD di kecamatan Bulak, terutama di kelurahan Kedung Cowek masih tinggi disbanding dengan angka tamatan SMA atau perguruan tinggi. Beberapa hambatan orang tua dalam pendidikan seksual pada anak adalah minimnya pengetahuan orang tua tentang kekerasan seksual, stigma tabu, dan minimnya pemahaman tentang prosedur hukum perlindungan anak. Sehingga tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah untuk memberikan penyuluhan dan pola penyadaran parenting untukpencegahan kekerasan seksual pada anak melalui pendekatan psikologi dan pendidikan hukum. Hasil evaluasi relevansi program menunjukkan sebanyak 90% mitra merasa sangat puas dan puas. Pada penyampaian materi, Tingkat pemahaman mitra sebesar 85%. Sementara itu,  88% mitra merasa puas dengan kinerja tim di lapangan. Sebanyak 80% mitra optimis bahwa program akan memberikan dampak positif jangka panjang.

Abstract

Inclusive education is a form of educational service provided by the government for students with special needs. Inclusive education is a forum for equalizing the development of students' potential. Students with special needs often have obstacles in learning, such as those with dyslexia. The film Taare Zamen Par is a public exemplary media about the implementation of inclusive education and the problems that occur in dealing with children with special needs, such as the paradigm of society that still discredits children with special needs. The purpose of this study is to determine and evaluate the relevance of the humanistic theory approach in the implementation of inclusive education, through a study in the film Taare Zamen Par. This type of research is qualitative descriptive research. The method used in the analysis is the semiotic method. This study shows that the humanistic approach is relevant to be applied in the implementation of inclusive education. Referring to the results of the film review, it shows several forms of the humanistic approach, including; overcoming low self-esteem, getting to know students' personalities and their environment through sense and sensibility, building empathy, involving families as a support system, and exploring students' talents.

Abstract

Seeing a social sign, results in striving to derive the meaning from the sign when it is used. One of the events that appear in various types of social sign is a disaster. It creates various myths that also act as a social sign; one of them is a myth about the relationship between humans and nature. This study aims to explain the perception of the local community in the Sumber Mujur village of Semeru Mountain Slope about social signs made as myth postdisaster eruption in 2022. The myth that is believed by the local community proved to have relevance to ecological sustainability. This research uses qualitative methods through deep interviewing technique. Informants in this study are a local community in the Semeru Mountain area, East Java which is part of the 2021 Semeru eruption survivors. Based on existing findings, most myths grow in line with a scientific view. Although the background or ways of working is different, myth and logos have compatible relevance in the context of ecology sustainability. This study concludes that myths give impact on society's attitude so as to maintain ecological sustainability, as well as a form of cultural adaptation, both in terms of conservation awareness and mitigation.
