Abstract

This study aims to explore the impact of the scientific approach on students' critical thinking skills in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) learning at Class 4C of SD Wachid Hasyim Surabaya (SD Plus), involving 16 students. The scientific approach includes observing, questioning, experimenting, reasoning, and communicating stages to encourage active student participation. This study employs a qualitative method with data collection techniques, including observation, interviews, and documentation. Observations were conducted to record students' critical thinking skills during the learning process. Interviews with the teacher and students provided in-depth insights into the application of the scientific approach. Documentation strengthened the data from observations and interviews. The results indicate that the scientific approach enhances students' critical thinking skills, as shown by their ability to formulate problems, create hypotheses, analyze data, and conclude learning outcomes. These findings offer essential insights into teaching strategies that promote critical thinking skills in elementary school students.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the active participation of students in the Phase B elementary school IPAS learning using the gallery walk method. The type of research used in this study is descriptive qualitative. The data collection techniques in this study were conducted using observation, interviews, and documentation. Meanwhile, the data analysis techniques used by the researcher are data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion/verification. Based on the research that has been conducted, it was found that the gallery walk method can encourage the creation of interaction, collaboration, active participation, and understanding of the learning material among students. This method can also serve as an alternative means of active participation for students. Students show active involvement in group discussions, critical thinking skills, and active participation. This study recommends the implementation of the gallery walk method as an engaging and effective alternative learning strategy to optimize students' active participation.

Abstract

Learning media is one of the key elements in supporting learning continuity. The purpose of this research is to produce valid, practical, effective media in the context of learning. This research is a development research (Research and Development), namely the development of learning media in the form of domino card states of matters IPAS Class IV SD with the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). The results of the validity test conducted by two media experts showed an average percentage of 94% and also 98% and the category “very valid”. while the test of the material expert reached a percentage of 98% in the same category. For the practicality test, researchers involved teachers and students to conduct a practicality test assessment with the percentage results from teachers and students of 89% in the “very practical” category. The effectiveness test of this media was conducted on grade IV students by conducting a learning outcome test which obtained a percentage of classical completeness of 79% with the category "very effective. Thus, based on these results, the domino card states of matter learning media can be said to be feasible to use because it has been tested for validity, practicality, and effectiveness.

Abstract

Pembelajaran Matematika sering dianggap sebagai momok yang menakutkan bagi peserta didik. Berdasarkan fenomena tersebut, penelitian ini ditulis dengan tujuan mendeskripsikan penerapan Model Team Games Tournament (TGT) berbasis media Snake and Ladders Carpet dalam pembelajaran di kelas 3 SD Simomulyo 1 Surabaya. Model TGT merupakan pendekatan pembelajaran kooperatif yang mendorong peserta didik untuk bekerja sama dalam kelompok dan bersaing dalam permainan, sementara media Snake and Ladders Carpet digunakan untuk menerapkan pembelajaran yang interaktif dan menyenangkan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan analisis sintaks TGT yang meliputi penyajian kelas, belajar dalam kelompok, permainan, pertandingan, dan penghargaan tim. Peneliti melaksanakan penelitian pada tanggal 19 November2014 dengan informan guru kelas dan 2 peserta didik. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yakni wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi, dengan teknis analisis data model Miles and Huberman meliputi pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi/penarikan kesimpulan. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan media Snake and Ladders Carpet dapat meningkatkan keterlibatan peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran, serta memfasilitasi kolaborasi dan pengembangan keterampilan sosial peserta didik. Selain itu, media ini mendukung gaya belajar visual, auditori, dan kinestetik melalui metode diferensiasi. Penerapan Model TGT berbantu media Snake and Ladders Carpet berdampak positif dalam pemahaman materi, partisipasi peserta didik, dan suasana belajar yang menyenangkan dan interaktif.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the learning motivation of students in learning Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) through reinforcement techniques with the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection methods in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects included classroom teachers and students of class V. The results of this study showed that the application of reinforcement techniques in the PBL model increased the enthusiasm and active participation of students from the beginning to the end of the learning process. In addition, reinforcement techniques help students better understand the material being taught and have a positive impact on the final summative results obtained. In conclusion, reinforcement techniques combined with the PBL model can be an effective method that can be applied by teachers to help students' motivation to learn in the classroom.

Abstract

Monotonous learning methods, confusing curriculum, lack of student motivation and low academic achievement of students. The teacher's task is very vital in fostering student motivation by creating interesting and meaningful learning. One of the media that can be used in the learning process is the traditional engklek game media. This study aims to develop traditional engklek game media that meets the criteria of valid, practical, and effective in phase B science learning at elementary school level. The type of research used is research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE model consisting of 5 stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation. At the Development stage, the researcher conducted a validity test by two material experts and two media experts showing that this media is very valid, with a percentage of 97% from material experts and 96% from media experts. At the Implementation stage, the researcher conducted a practicality test assessed through student and teacher responses, resulting in a score of 84% from students and 89% from teachers. At the Evaluation stage, the researcher tested the effectiveness of the media as measured by student learning outcomes, which showed a percentage of 72%, indicating that the media was effectively used. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the hopscotch game media is very feasible from the valid, practical, and effective aspects as a learning media in improving student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the legal culture and the existence of women in grassroots democratic contestations in Sumenep Regency. Legal culture refers to the perceptions, attitudes, and behaviors of the community toward prevailing laws, which are often influenced by social, cultural, and historical factors. The existence of women in grassroots democratic contestations is crucial, as women play a vital role in social and political development at the local level.This research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing data collection techniques such as in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document studies. The findings reveal that, despite growing awareness of the importance of women's participation in grassroots democracy, structural and cultural barriers still constrain their roles. Key obstacles include a strong patriarchal culture, limited access to education and information, and a lack of support from the social environment.Nonetheless, there are local initiatives striving to strengthen women's roles through various empowerment and legal education programs. Efforts to enhance women's participation in grassroots democracy in Sumenep Regency must adopt a holistic and sustainable approach, focusing not only on legal aspects but also on social and cultural transformation.Based on the research findings, it is recommended that local governments strengthen affirmative policies supporting women's involvement, expand access to political and legal education, and promote cross-sectoral collaboration in creating inclusive and gender-responsive participatory spaces. The active role of civil society organizations is also crucial in fostering legal culture change and enhancing women's leadership capacity at the local level.
