Abstract

Di Indonesia tanaman Capsicum annuum dikonsumsi dalam bentuk segar maupun sebagai produk olahan. Kebutuhan C. annuum di Indonesia yang semakin meningkat menyebabkan banyaknya permintaan komoditas tersebut di pasaran. Penurunan hasil panen dapat dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor pada saat budidaya, salah satunya yaitu keberadaan organisme pengganggu tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak metanol biji Annona muricata terhadap tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun total, dan jumlah buah total pada tanaman C. annuum. Perlakuan yang diujikan dalam penelitian merupakan ekstrak metanol biji A. muricata dengan konsentrasi P0 (0%), P1 (0,25%), P2 (0,5%), P3 (1%), P4 (2%), P5 (4%). Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 6 Perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Aplikasi ekstrak biji A. muricata dilakukan dengan cara disemprot menggunakan sprayer pada saat tanaman berumur 2 MST (Minggu Setelah Transplanting) hingga 11 MST, dengan interval 1 minggu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemberian ekstrak metanol A. muricata tidak memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap parameter tinggi tanaman dan jumlah daun total akan tetapi berpengaruh nyata terhadap produksi jumlah buah total pada perlakuan konsentrasi ekstrak 1%. Panen pertama menghasilkan 49 buah dengan bobot total 977 g, dan rata-rata bobot sebesar 19.94 g/tanaman untuk setiap buah. In Indonesia, the Capsicum annuum plant is consumed fresh or as a processed product. The increasing need for C. annuum in Indonesia has resulted in a large demand for this commodity in the market. Decreased yields can be influenced by various factors during cultivation, one of which is the presence of plant-disturbing organisms. This study aims to determine the effect of giving the methanol extract of Annona muricata seeds (the first word should not be abbreviated) on plant height, total leaf number, and total fruit number in C. annuum plants. The treatment tested in the study was methanol extract of A. muricata seeds with concentrations P0 (0%), P1 (0.25%), P2 (0.5%), P3 (1%), P4 (2%), P5 ( 4%). The design used was a randomized block design (RBD) with 6 treatments and 4 repetitions. The application of A. muricata seed extract was carried out by spraying using a sprayer when the plants were 2 WAP (Week after Transplanting) to 11 WAP, with an interval of 1 week. The results showed that the administration of methanol extract of A. muricata had no significant effect on the parameters of plant height and total leaf number however, it had a significant effect on the total number of fruit production in the 1% extract concentration treatment. The first harvest produced 49 fruit with a total weight of 977 g, and an average weight of 19.94 g/plant for each fruit.

Abstract

Tanaman cabai merupakan tanaman sayuran dan rempah-rempah yang menjadi komoditas penting di berbagai wilayah Indonesia. Produktivitas tanaman cabai harus ditingkatkan agar produksi tetap stabil karena sebagian besar masyarakat Indonesia gemar mengkomsusi cabai merah. Namun, produksi tanaman cabai di Indonesia menurun salah satunya yaitu adanya serangan hama. Penggunaan pestisida nabati menjadi suatu strategi dalam menekan serangan hama tanpa menimbulkan dampak yang lebih besar terhadap lingkungan. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengevaluasi sejauh mana formulasi pestisida nabati berbahan Barringtonia asiatica mampu menekan serangan hama pada tanaman cabai. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) non-faktorial dengan enam tingkat konsentrasi ekstrak B. asiatica, yaitu B1 = 0% (kontrol), B2 = 0,125%, B3 = 0,25%, B4 = 0,5%, B5 = 1%, dan B6 = 2%. Setiap perlakuan diulang empat kali sehingga diperoleh 24 unit percobaan, dengan masing-masing unit berisi tiga tanaman, sehingga total terdapat 72 tanaman sampel. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa konsentrasi 2% merupakan formulasi yang paling mampu menurunkan intensitas serangan hama, meskipun belum efektif menekan kejadian serangannya. Selain itu, perlakuan ekstrak B. asiatica tidak memberikan pengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman, seperti tinggi, diameter batang, jumlah daun dan buah, warna daun, maupun bobot buah, serta tidak menimbulkan efek negatif terhadap pertumbuhan maupun hasil panen cabai.   Chili peppers are a vegetable and spice crop that are an important commodity in various regions of Indonesia. Chili pepper productivity must be increased to maintain stable production because most Indonesians enjoy consuming red chili peppers. However, chili pepper production in Indonesia is declining due to pest attacks. The use of botanical pesticides is a strategy to suppress pest attacks without causing greater impacts on the environment. This study was conducted to evaluate the extent to which a botanical pesticide formulation made from Barringtonia asiatica can suppress pest attacks on chili peppers. The study used a non-factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with six levels of B. asiatica extract concentration, namely B1 = 0% (control), B2 = 0.125%, B3 = 0.25%, B4 = 0.5%, B5 = 1%, and B6 = 2%. Each treatment was repeated four times to obtain 24 experimental units, with each unit containing three plants, for a total of 72 sample plants. The results showed that a 2% concentration was the most effective formulation for reducing pest attack intensity, although it was not yet effective in suppressing the incidence of attacks. Furthermore, the B. asiatica extract treatment did not affect plant growth, such as height, stem diameter, number of leaves and fruit, leaf color, or fruit weight, and did not negatively impact chili growth or yield.
