Abstract

User reviews on digital platforms hold valuable information that can be used to improve service quality. This study aims to explore the topics that appear in visitor reviews of Lake UNESA based on rating categories with a topic modeling approach using the Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) method. The analysis process follows the stages in the Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD) framework, starting from the selection of Google Maps review data, text preprocessing (cleaning, letter normalization, tokenization, word normalization, and stopword removal), and data transformation into bag-of-words representation through bigram-trigram formation and dictionary-corpus creation. Topic modeling is performed using LDA, and the results are evaluated and interpreted through pyLDAvis and wordcloud visualization. Model validation is carried out through Word Intrusion Task and Topic Intrusion Task testing, with accuracy levels of 0.91 and 0.88, respectively. The results show that LDA is able to identify topics optimally. Each rating category produces different topics that represent visitor perceptions of aspects that are not yet available, still k-aspects such as atmosphere, cleanliness, culinary, and facilities. These findings are expected to provide data-based insights to support the development and management of Lake UNESA more effectively.

Abstract

Toko Anugerah Rianto is a business engaged in retail, namely cosmetics since 2016, located in Rungkut, Surabaya. Of course, in running his business, the business owner has his own challenges in running it. Based on the results of interviews conducted with business owners, the obstacle in running their business is controlling the availability of stock in the warehouse. This obstacle is caused by the absence of recording incoming and outgoing goods so that stock-outs and inaccurate availability often occur. This problem causes consumers to wait for stock to be available. The purpose of this research is to design an inventory information system that can overcome the problems of the business being run. This design uses the Research and Development (R&D) method which consists of 4D (define, design, develop, disseminate). The stock inventory management method applied in this study is the First In First Out (FIFO) method where the first item in is the first item out to avoid expired goods. The result of this research is a website-based inventory information system that is a solution to the problems of Anugerah Rianto Store to support accurate data collection of incoming and outgoing goods.

Abstract

This study aims to forecast inventory needs at CV. Irmandiri Pustaka using the Holt-Winters Multiplicative method. The company distributes Student Worksheets (LKS), with seasonal demand that rises at the start of each semester. Accurate forecasting is crucial to manage inventory efficiently and avoid overstocking or shortages. Holt-Winters was chosen for its ability to capture both trend and seasonal patterns. The forecast uses sales data from January 2024 to June 2025. Forecast accuracy is evaluated using Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE), Mean Absolute Deviation (MAD), and Mean Squared Error (MSE). Initial parameter settings produced high errors, prompting optimization through Excel’s Solver feature. The optimized parameters α = 0.01, β = 0.01, and γ = 0.04 reduced the MAPE to 25.19%. These results show that the Holt-Winters method can provide reliable inventory forecasts, especially after the second seasonal cycle, and serve as a helpful tool for inventory planning decisions.

Abstract

The rapid growth of transactions in the fashion retail industry produces large volumes of customer data whose behavioral patterns remain difficult to exploit when segmentation is performed manually and descriptively. Uniform mass marketing is particularly ineffective for premium fashion, where preserving brand exclusivity demands a more personal approach. This study develops a customer segmentation model that does not stop at grouping customers by transaction value, but also reveals the shopping-style preferences embedded within each segment, and presents the results through an analytical dashboard for business stakeholders. Recency, Frequency, and Monetary (RFM) parameters were derived from transaction data and transformed using logarithmic scaling and a Robust Scaler to handle skewed distributions and outliers. The parameters were then grouped with K-Means clustering, whose optimal number of clusters was determined through the Elbow Method, Silhouette Score, and Davies-Bouldin Index. Within each resulting cluster, Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) was applied independently to uncover hidden purchase topics, which were interpreted as fashion-style personas. The findings show that 1,152 customers were divided into four tiers, with K=4 as the optimal configuration, supported by a Silhouette Score of 0.5952 and a Davies-Bouldin Index of 0.5644. LDA identified distinct style personas across tiers, with topic coherence shaped by each segment's vocabulary diversity. The resulting Streamlit dashboard passed all 45 functional test scenarios, confirming that integrating value-based and preference-based analysis yields richer customer profiles for targeted marketing.

Abstract

Price instability of medium rice has important implications for food security and agricultural policy in Indonesia, making accurate price forecasting essential for decision-making. This study investigates the forecasting capability of the Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) and Prophet models for predicting producer-level medium rice prices in East Java Province. Monthly producer price data spanning January 2020 to December 2025 were collected from the East Java Open Data Portal. The research followed the Cross-Industry Standard Process for Data Mining (CRISP-DM), covering problem identification, data exploration, preprocessing, model development, performance assessment, and forecasting deployment. Forecast accuracy was measured using Mean Absolute Error (MAE), Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), and Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE). Experimental results reveal that ARIMA(1,1,1) achieved the highest predictive accuracy, recording an MAE of 238.37, an RMSE of 293.11, and a MAPE of 1.88%, whereas Prophet produced larger prediction errors, with values of 2,062.14, 2,113.86, and 16.46%, respectively. Based on these results, the ARIMA model was selected to estimate producer-level medium rice prices for the 2026 forecasting period. Overall, the study demonstrates that ARIMA is better suited to the characteristics of the analyzed dataset and has the potential to support data-driven agricultural price monitoring and food price stabilization policies.
