Abstract

This study was aimed to determine the nutrient status and population of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) on the second cropping cycle of corn-based cropping patterns which utilized indigenous mycorrhizal fungi on sandy soil. The experiment was conducted at the Akar-Akar village in Bayan district of North Lombok, in a Randomized Block Design, with 4 replications and 6 treatments of cropping cycles (P0 = corn-soybean as a control, in which the corn plants were not inoculated with AMF; P1 = corn-soybean, P2 = corn-peanut, P3 = corn-upland rice, P4 = corn-sorghum, and P5 = corn-corn, in which the first cycle corn plants were inoculated with AMF). Results indicated that the status of N, P, K and organic-C increased significantly up to 112%, 148%, 88%, 88% at 60 DAS and 66%, 135%, 54%, 60% at 100 DAS, respectively in the second cropping cycle of sorghum compared to control. Uptake of N, P, K and Ca the sorghum plants at 60 DAS of the second cropping cycle reached 200%; 550%; 120% and 490%, respectively a higher than in the control. Mycorrhizal populations (spore number and infection percentage) were highest in the second cycle sorghum, achieving 335% and 226% respectively, which were significantly higher than those in the control.

Abstract

Agroforestry plays a strategic role in maintaining the ecological function of dry lands while improving community welfare in a sustainable manner. The aims of this research are to: (1) describe the concept, benefits, principles, and constraints of agroforestry application on dry land in Pringgabaya District, East Lombok; (2) analyze relevant agroforestry models and their impacts on agroecosystem sustainability; and (3) analyze farmers' perceptions and adoption levels of agroforestry systems. The method used is a descriptive method, while data collection uses survey techniques and literature studies. The results of the study indicate that: (1) Agroforestry is a sustainable land management system that integrates trees, agricultural crops, and/or livestock in a spatial and temporal order designed to increase synergistic interactions; The benefits of agroforestry include: soil and water conservation, increased fertility, income diversification, resilience to extreme climates, and increased biodiversity; The main principles of agroforestry include: spatial-temporal integration, selection of appropriate species, closed nutrient cycles, resource conservation, and local wisdom. The main constraints of agroforestry in this area include; biophysical aspects (undulating, hilly and mountainous topography, with shallow and rocky soil, limited water availability, low rainfall (1,000-2,000 mm/year), and low soil fertility); socio-economic aspects such as limited capital, technology, knowledge, market access, and minimal policy support; (2) Models relevant to dry land in Pringgabaya District, East Lombok include: alley cropping, silvopasture, agrisilviculture, agrosilvopasture, productive yards, and windbreak agroforestry. Their impacts on sustainability include ecological aspects (soil conservation, water efficiency, and fertility), socio-economic (income, local capacity, food security), climate (microclimate and mitigation), and biodiversity. Farmers' perceptions of agroforestry are very positive, with an adoption rate reaching 81.22%.

Abstract

The corn food commodity is one of the leading commodities of West Nusa Tenggara. In addition, NTB is also one of the target areas for increasing national maize production. This study aims to determine the yield yield of several varieties of maize given a mixed package of organic, inorganic and mycorrhizal fertilizers. This research was conducted from May to August 2020 in Midang Village, Gunung Sari District, West Lombok Regency, Microbiology Laboratory and Soil Physics and Chemistry Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Mataram University. The method used in this study was a randomized block design with 5 treatments, namely V1 (P8IS variety), V2 (P8DPP variety), V3 (Gumarang variety), V4 (Lamuru variety), V5 (Sukmaraga variety). Each treatment was repeated 3 times in order to obtain 15 experimental plots. The results showed that maize varieties given organic, inorganic and mycorrhizal fertilizers had a significant effect on growth, yield of maize, nutrient status and nutrient uptake, number of mycorrhizal spores and root colonization by mycorrhizae. Sukmaraga variety has better growth and yield than other varieties, this is reflected in the growth parameter indicators and yield parameter indicators, namely harvest dry ear weight per plant (271.5 g), dry ear weight per plant (255 g), length ear (16.5 cm), ear diameter (5.3 cm), seed dry weight per plant (180 g), and weight 1000 seeds (288 g).

Abstract

Pemenang Barat Village is one of the villages in the North Lombok Region whose land is dominated by sandy soil, has a dry climate and low rainfall. This sandy soil is porous, poor in nutrients and organic matter. This condition causes plant growth and yield to be low and can even cause harvest failure. Through this community service activity, "Instruction on the Making of Ameliorant as a Soil Improvement Material has been carried out in the West Pemenang Village". Activity methods are lecture, discussion, question and answer, demonstration and practice. This extension activity went well, the extension participants were active and enthusiastic in participating in the discussion. The results of this counseling can be concluded that there has been an increase in participants' understanding and skills regarding making ameliorant as a soil improver that can increase soil fertility.

Abstract

The issue of low sweet corn yields and the underutilization of organic waste highlights the need for sustainable agricultural innovation. This community service program aimed to introduce and apply the use of cow manure waste enriched with mycorrhizae to improve sweet corn yields in the "Karya Usaha Bersama" farmer group, Moncok Karya, Ampenan. The program was implemented using an andragogical approach (Adult Education Method), consisting of: (1) education on the benefits and application of mycorrhiza-based cow manure (20% theory), (2) training in the production and application of biofertilizer, (3) field demonstrations and participatory action research (80% practice), and (4) evaluation of farmers’ understanding, enthusiasm, and the impact on crop yield. The results showed improved farmer knowledge and skills in processing organic waste into biofertilizer, enhanced soil fertility, and increased sweet corn productivity. This activity also raised awareness among farmers about the importance of environmentally friendly and sustainable agricultural practices.

Abstract

Teratak Village, located in Batukliang Utara District, Central Lombok Regency, holds great potential for agricultural product processing, particularly bananas. The abundance of raw materials presents an opportunity to develop multi-flavored banana chips as a flagship product. Community empowerment efforts focus on flavor innovation, packaging, and digital marketing to enhance product competitiveness. Innovations include developing flavors such as chocolate, doger, and taro. Additionally, packaging plays a crucial role in increasing product value, with training provided on creating attractive, functional, and eco-friendly packaging. Informative label designs and customized packaging sizes are expected to expand market reach, including entry into supermarkets and souvenir shops. In the digital era, online marketing serves as a key strategy. The community is trained to utilize social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook, along with digital marketing strategies, to boost product visibility. Through digital marketing, Teratak Village's banana chips have the potential to gain wider recognition both nationally and internationally. This program aims to enhance community skills and creativity, create new job opportunities, and strengthen Teratak Village's identity as a center for high-quality banana chip production. This integrated approach is expected to support sustainable economic development and provide long-term benefits to the community.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dosis biourin fermentasi Trichoderma harzianum terhadap penyakit layu fusarium pada beberapa varietas bawang merah. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimental dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) Faktorial yang terdiri dari dua faktor yaitu dosis biourin dan varietas. Faktor dosis biourin antara lain q0= Tanpa aplikasi biourin+ inokulasi jamur Fusarium sp.; q1= 5 ml/tanaman+inokulasi jamur Fusarium sp.; q2= 15 ml/tanaman+inokulasi jamur Fusarium sp.; q3= 25 ml/tanaman+inokulasi jamur Fusarium sp.; dan q4= 35 ml/tanaman+inokulasi jamur Fusarium sp. Faktor varietas antara lain v1= Varietas Keta Monca dan v2= Varietas Bali Karet. Terdapat 10 perlakuan dari kombinasi varietas dan dosis biourin. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dosis biourin yang paling efektif dalam menekan layu fusarium pada tanaman bawang merah adalah 35 ml (q4). Pemberian biourin fermentasi T. harzianum sebanyak 35 ml menunjukkan dampak signifikan terhadap berangkasan segar, berangkasan kering, bobot umbi segar, dan bobot umbi kering bawang merah. Varietas Keta Monca menunjukkan berat umbi segar dan berat umbi kering yang lebih baik sedangkan varietas Bali Karet menunjukkan berangkasan segar dan berangkasan kering yang lebih baik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa efektif pemberian amelioran mengandung mikoriza untuk meningkatkan hasil dan serapan nitrogen dan fosfor tanaman jagung manis (Zea mays saccharata Sturt). Percobaan ini dilakukan di Moncok Karya, Kecamatan Ampenan, Kota Mataram, Laboratorium Mikrobiologi dan Laboratorium Fisika dan Kimia Tanah Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Mataram. Percobaan disusun menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok yang terdiri dari atas lima perlakuan amelioran, yaitu PO: Kontrol (tanpa amelioran), PA: arang sekam padi + mikoriza, PK: kompos + mikoriza , PS: pupuk kandang sapi + mikoriza, dan PC: campuran arang sekam padi, kompos, pupuk kandang sapi dan mikoriza (1.1.1.1). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan aplikasi amelioran campuran arang sekam padi + kompos + pupuk kandang sapi + mikoriza (1:1:1:1) efektif meningkatkan tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, konsentrasi P tersedia dan N total tanah, serapan N dan P oleh tanaman, jumlah spora dan kolonisasi pada akar serta bobot brangkasan basah dan kering tanaman di tanah pasiran. Formulasi amelioran campuran arang sekam padi + kompos + pupuk kandang sapi + Mikoriza (1:1:1:1) memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap peningkatan pertumbuhan dan hasil jagung manis yang tertinggi. Untuk meningkatkan konsentrasi hara tanah, serapan hara tanaman, pertumbuhan dan hasil jagung manis dapat menggunakan formulasi amelioran campuran arang sekam padi + kompos + pupuk kandang sapi + mikoriza (1:1:1:1).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh berbagai teknik pengolahan tanah yang ditambahkan bioamelioran terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tumpangsari jagung dan kedelai di lahan kering. Percobaan ini dilakukan di Desa Pemenang Barat Kecamatan Pemenang Kabupaten Lombok Utara. Pengamatan mikoriza dan status hara tanah dilakukan di Laboratoriom Mikrobiologi, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Mataram. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan yaitu Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan empat ulangan dan lima perlakuan teknik pengolahan tanah, yaitu O0 : tanpa olah tanah, O1 : tanpa olah tanah hanya disemprot herbisida pra tumbuh menggunakan herbisida Gramoxone 276 SL dengan konsentrasi 30ml/liter air, disemprot secara merata sebelum tanam pada petak perlakuan, O2 : pengolahan tanah minimum hanya dicangkul saja pada petak tempat tanam, O3 : pengolahan tanah sederhana yang dicangkul dan diratakan, O4 : pengolahan tanah intensif dengan cara dicangkul, digemburkan, dan diratakan.. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan (1) Perlakuan pengolahan tanah intensif dan lengkap (dicangkul, digembur,diratakan) dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan hasil panen tumpangsari jagung dan kedelai. (2) Perlakuan pengolahan tanah intensif dan lengkap (dicangkul, digembur, diratakan) dapat meningkatkan perkembangan mikoriza arbuskula (MA) dengan meningkatnya jumlah spora mikoriza di dalam tanah dan persentase kolonisasi MA pada akar. (3) Perlakuan pengolahan tanah intensif dan lengkap (dicangkul, digembur, diratakan) dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan hasil bobot biomassa basah dan kering jagung dan kedelai.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas beberapa sumber amelioran terhadap peningkatan serapan NP tanaman dan produktivitas jagung manis (Zea mays var. saccharata) di tanah pasiran. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental yang dilakukan di Moncok Karya, Kelurahan Pejeruk Karya, Kecamatan Ampenan, Kota Mataram, dan Laboratorium Mikrobiologi, Laboratorium Fisika dan Kimia Tanah Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Mataram dari bulan Februari sampai Juni 2024. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK), yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan dengan 3 ulangan yang terdiri dari yaitu A0 (tanpa amelioran) AA (amelioran arang sekam padi), AK (amelioran kompos), AS (amelioran pupuk kandang sapi) dan AP (amelioran pupuk subur). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa efektivitas beberapa sumber amelioran dengan perlakuan pupuk kandang sapi memberikan nilai tertinggi pada masing-masing parameter pengamatan.
