Abstract

Abstract: Using the UTAUT Model to Understand the Behavioral Intention to Use Mendeley Among Undergraduate Students of the Second Semester: Mixed Research Method. Objective: This study aims to uncover the factors that influence behavioral intention to use Mendeley among second-semester students at Tanjungpura University using the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT). Furthermore, this study deepens the findings of the UTAUT factors with qualitative research. Methods: This study utilised a mixed research method: quantitative-qualitative. Sixty students using the Mendeley application who were studying in the second semester at the Faculty of Engineering, Tanjungpura University, in 2023 became respondents in this study. Quantitatively, data were collected through a survey with the help of Google Form which was then analysed using the Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) statistical testing method. Qualitatively, this study utilised open-ended interviews with selected students to explain the findings of the quantitative research. Findings: Based on SEM analysis, the factor that has a high influence on Behavioural Intention (BI) is Social Influence (SI) followed by Performance Expectancy (PE), and finally Effort Expectancy (EE). These findings are confirmed in qualitative research which reveals that the biggest influence of Mendeley adoption is environmental influence, namely encouragement from lecturers and from peers and the influence of the performance of the Mendeley application which helps citation and bibliography. Conclusion: This study concludes that students responded positively to the Mendeley application, perceived it as an application that can help write academic texts, easy to learn, and recognized that the factors of support from lecturers and peer influence as the main factors of the reasons for adoption. The low EE factor was caused by several usage problems experienced by students when connecting Mendeley and Microsoft Word which often caused errors. Keywords: RMS, mendeley, behavioral intention, UTAUT, mixed method.DOI: http://doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v14.i1.202441

Abstract

Perkembangan dunia pendidikan saat ini sangat sejalan dengan perkembangan teknologi. Salah satu perkembangan tersebut adalah pembelajaran berbasis Virtual Reality. Virtual Reality adalah media yang berbentuk 3D yang disimulasikan bagi pengguna untuk mengeksplorasi dan berinteraksi terhadap lingkungan virtual yang seperti nyata. Virtual Reality dapat diimplementasikan di bidang pendidikan termasuk pada pembelajaran pada perguruan tinggi. Tujuan penelitian kualitatit deskriptif ini adalah untuk mengungkap kesiapan pemanfaatan Virtual Reality dalam pembelajaran di perguruan tinggi. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa tanggapan mahasiswa yang dikumpulkan menggunakan teknik wawancara semi terstruktur kepada sumber data penelitian yakni mahasiswa Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia, FKIP, Universitas Tanjungpura angkatan 2022-2023 yang sedang menempuh semester keempat berjumlah delapan orang. Data yang telah didapatkan selanjutnya dianalisis dengan teknik analisis data tematik untuk menemukan tema-tema yang sesuai dengan temuan penelitian. Penelitian ini berhasil mengungkap tema mengenai kemampuan, pengetahuan, kesiapan, serta minat dan sumber daya. Secara umum, masyarakat siap dengan kehadiran Virtual Reality dalam perkuliahan termasuk pada perkuliahan pendidikan guru Bahasa Indonesia.

Abstract

Sebagai bahasa negara, sudah seharunya bahasa Indonesia dipergunakan secara baik dan benar sesuai dengan kaidah berbahasa yang tepat. Jika dilihat pada perkembangan teknologi yang semakin maju membuat pengaruh sehingga dapat merusak penggunaan bahasa Indonesia. Hal ini dipengaruhi karena perilaku yang tidak baik yang digunakan oleh remaja pada generasi Milenial yang berempat tinggal di kota-kota besar. Generasi Milenial diharapkan dapat menjunjung tinggi penggunaan bahasa Indonesia, tidak melunturkan bahasa daerah, tidak menggunakan bahasa gaul dikehidupan sehari-hari dan menjadikan penggunaan bahasa asing sebagai pedoman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan sikap bahasa remaja di era generasi Milenial yang ada di daerah Kota Pontianak dengan teknik pengumpulan data wawancara semi terstruktur. Dengan menggunakan bentuk penelitian kualitatif-deskriptif. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah tanggapan secara lisan mengenai bahasa yang dipergunakan remaja generasi Milenial pada kehidupannya sehari-hari. Data dalam penelitian ini dikumpulkan melalui narasumber penelitian remaja Melayu Kota Pontianak yang mempergunakan bahasa Indonesia dengan baik dan remaja Melayu Kota Pontianak yang masih mempergunakan bahasa asing, bahasa daerah, dan juga bahasa gaul dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan yang dilakukan oleh peneliti mengenai sikap bahasa generasi Milenial Melayu Pontianak terhadap bahasa Indonesia dengan menggunakan kajian sosiolinguistik, maka ditemukan bahwa lebih banyak remaja yang sudah menjadi narasumber memilih poin positif pada penggunaan bahasa Indonesia. Dengan jawaban yang bernilai positif baik pada pertanyaan wawancara yang ada, maka pilihan tersebut dapat dikatakan bahwa para remaja di generasi Milenial memiliki sikap bahasa yang baik, dikarenakan hal ini dipengaruhi oleh lingkungan disekitarnya.

Abstract

This research discusses the problem of the use of diction and language style in the writing of short stories of class IX students of SMP Negeri 1 Sungai Raya. The purpose of the research is to describe the use of diction based on its meaning, lexical, and language style in the writing of short stories of grade IX students of SMP Negeri 1 Sungai Raya. The method used is descriptive method in qualitative form. The data source of this research is the ninth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Sungai Raya. Data collection techniques used written test techniques with observation, assignment, field survey, data retrieval, and documentation. The research resulted in the use of diction based on its meaning, namely: denotative as many as 13 students while connotative as many as 22 students, the use of diction based on lexical as many as 14 students in the form of synonyms and as many as 18 students in the form of antonyms, while language styles were used as many as three language styles, namely: comparison, affirmation, and opposition in writing short stories of 32 students in class IX E.

Abstract

The research conducted on the film Susah Sinyal by Ernest Prakarsa was research with the aim of describing the types of presuppositions contained in the dialogue of the film Susah Sinyal by Ernest Prakarsa. This research uses a descriptive method in the form of qualitative research. The data source used in this research is the film Susah Sinyal by Ernest Prakarsa which was released in 2017. The data for this research is all the dialogue spoken by the characters in the form of words, phrases and sentences that give rise to the presuppositions contained in the film Susah Sinyal by Ernest Prakarsa. This research uses documentary study data collection techniques. The results of this research found 214 speech data that gave rise to presuppositions, consisting of 78 existential presupposition speech data, 14 factive presupposition speech data, 33 lexical presupposition speech data, 27 nonfactive presupposition speech data, 49 structural presupposition speech data, and 13 counterfactual presupposition speech data. It can be concluded that the most existential presuppositions and the least counterfactual presuppositions are found in the film Susah Sinyal by Ernest Prakarsa.

Abstract

Digital developments make it easy for students to organize and collect literature through the PoP and Mendeley applications. Therefore, this workshop aims to provide understanding and ability to workshop participants in operating PoP and Mendeley to help the literature review process. The workshop was held on September 25, 2023 which was attended by 26 students of Indonesian Language Education Study Program, FKIP, Untan. This workshop was carried out with the help of methods 1) lecture, 2) practice, and 3) question and answer. In this workshop, participants were guided to practice the application of PoP and Mendeley directly. The pretest results showed that the participants did not know the application of PoP and Mendeley as a reference organizer and reference collection tool. After the training, there was an increase in students' ability to input citations, bring up bibliographies, and change citation styles using the Mendeley application and succeeded in providing test participants with an understanding and ability to function PoP as a research metadata collection tool. The interest of the test participants was very high and the workshop has succeeded in giving confidence to the participants that the Mendeley and PoP applications will be useful for them in the future, especially in writing academic texts, which shows that this workshop has succeeded in increasing students' knowledge and ability to utilize PoP and Mendeley in the reference collection process.

Abstract

In general, the purpose of this research is to gain a deeper understanding of the use of metaphor in the song lyrics of the album Untuk Dunia, Cinta, dan Kotornya by Nadin Amizah, and to reveal important aspects of literary style that can enrich public knowledge, particularly in the field of stylistics and the study of song lyrics as literary works. This research uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach, and the data is obtained through document study and non-participant observation techniques. The data analysis is carried out qualitatively, using Ullman’s theory of metaphor as the analytical framework. This research identifies three types of metaphors used in the lyrics: anthropomorphic metaphors 13 instances, metaphors from concrete to abstract 16 instances, and synesthetic metaphors 10 instances. No animal metaphors were found in the analyzed data. Based on the findings, it is evident that metaphor from concrete to abstract is the most dominant, followed by anthropomorphic and synesthetic metaphors. These results show that Nadin Amizah’s lyrical writing style is rich in abstract, emotional, and subjective elements, which reflect the unique characteristics of her musical works. It is hoped that this study can serve as a reference for further research in stylistic analysis and lyric-based literary studies.
