Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to produce quality science literacy-based pop up books. This research was conducted at the Biology Education Laboratory of UR FKIP and SMPN 10 Pekanbaru in July 2020-February 2021. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D). Media development is carried out according to the ADDIE model with the Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation stages. This research was only carried out until the Development stage by validating by validators and limited trial phase I by Biology Education Students, FKIP UR, and limited trial phase II by students of SMPN 10 Pekanbaru. The assessment of the pop up book media developed includes 5 aspects, namely aspects of content, language, presentation, overall appearance and scientific literacy. The mean result of validation based on scientific literacy gets a score of 3.60 in the very valid category. The mean results of the limited trial phase I get a score of 3.82 and stage II get a score of 3.83 in the very good category. Based on these data, it can be concluded that the science literacy-based pop up book media that has been developed are categorized as quality media and can be used on a large scale.Key Words: Pop Up Book, Science Literacy, Execression System

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to describe the level of scientific literacy textbooks of biology class X. This research uses a qualitative approach with content analysis method or document. Population in this research is all textbook of biology of class X X 2013 Curriculum used in Pekanbaru City and sample is textbook of biology curriculum 2013 class X Irnaningtyas work of publisher of Erlangga selected by purposive sampling technique. The research data is obtained from the results of the scientific literacy analysis of textbooks using the assessment instrument based on four dimensions of scientific literacy, namely science as a body of knowledge, science as a way of thinking, science as a way of investigation and interaction of science and technology society. The stages of the analysis are divided into two stages: the feasibility phase of the textbook of biology lesson and the analysis of the scientific literacy level of biology textbooks. Data analysis using descriptive statistics method. The result of data analysis shows that the most dominant dimension is science as the body of knowledge with the percentage score of 52.77%, the dimension of science as a way of thinking of 20.43%, the dimensions of science as the way of investigation of 15.40% and the dimensions of science technology interaction and the community 10.94%. Overall the level of scientific literacy of textbooks of biology class X has an average of 25% with the category less good.Key words : Literacy, Scientific Literacy, Biology Textbook.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to develop quality student worksheets in terms of the implementation of the syntax of guided inquiry models and indicators of scientific literacy in the material of the circulatory system in humans for VIII grade students of junior high school. This research was conducted in two places, namely for the validation of student worksheets by the validator and a limited trial phase I was conducted at the Biology Education Campus of the Teaching and Education Faculty (FKIP) of Riau University and a limited trial phase II of the student worksheets that had been developed was carried out at SMPN 4 Pekanbaru. When the research began in April-October 2019. This study used an Reasearch and Development (RnD) with the ADDIE’smodel and was carried out in 5stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. In his research, we does by developments phase. Data collection instruments in the form of validation sheets and respondent sheets. The results of the LKPD validation with the guided inquiry model based on scientific literacy are at an average value of 3.51 with a very valid category. The results of a limited test score are 3.62 with a very good category. It can be conclude thatLKPD with a guided inquiry model based on science literacy is feasible to be implemented on a broader scale.KeyWords: Student’s worksheet, guided inquiry’s model, scientific’s literacy

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the growth of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) with the use of Azolla microphylla feed and its potential to produce a module design on the material for growth and development of living things in class XII odd semester KD 3.10 and KD 4.10. This research was conducted from May to August 2020 at Danau Selais LPPM Riau University. This study used 2 stages, namely. Phase I research used quantitative descriptive to determine the growth of tilapia on Azolla microphyla feed with different feeding percentages. Fish were grouped into 3 treatments and 1 control. Fish are reared in different cages with different percentage of feeding. The research parameters included absolute length growth, absolute weight growth, specific growth rate, and survival rate. Phase II research is a module teaching material design that uses 2 stages, namely, the Analyze and Design stages. The results of the experimental stage of research, feeding Azolla microphylla affected the growth of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). P3 treatment (giving 5% Azolla microphylla from fish biomass) is the best dose in increasing the growth of tilapia. Resulted in the absolute length growth of 4.24 cm, absolute weight 11.72 g, 4.68% relative growth, 0.021% specific growth rate and 99.4% survival rate. The P3 treatment resulted in a growth which was much lower than the P0 treatment (control).Key Words: Growth of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), Azolla microphylla,Design of learning modules

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to produce comic books as a media for science learning in global warming material for seventh class. The comic development process was carried out in the Biology Education Study Program of Riau University and limited trials were conducted at SMP IT FIS Pekanbaru. The time of study was July up to November 2018. The development model used the ADDIE model until the development stage. The research subjects in the research that will be developed are KD 3.9; Analyzing climate change and its impact on the ecosystem in this study which was consisted of 3 meetings. The instruments were validation sheets, response questionnaires and comic products that have been developed. Data collection was carried out by filling out a validation sheet by 5 validators (3 Biology Education lecturers and 2 middle school science teachers). The limited trial I was carried out to 10 students of 7th semester Biology Education in the Biology Education Study Program. Based on suggestions from respondents, the results of the trial I, the researchers made a revision. After the revision, a limited trial II was conducted which was carried out for 20 seventh grade students of SMP IT FIS Pekanbaru. The results of the average comic validation scores that have been developed are simplicity aspects 3.43, emphasis aspects 3.70, balance aspects 3.60, integration aspects 3.30, and comic design aspects 3.69. The average score of the validation results from the five aspects is 3.54 with a very valid category. The response of trial users 1 was 93.33% with a very good category and the response of users to trial 2 was 95.41% with a very good category. Based on the results of validation and trials, it can be concluded that the quality of comic books for junior high school students is very valid and it can be implemented, appropriate for students to be use as a source of learning, and as references for junior high school science teachers. Abstract

Beberapa mahasiswi kesulitan memahami definisi formal barisan konvergen. Mereka tidak mengetahui apa yang harus dilakukan untuk memahami. Pada makalah ini, dibahas kegiatan-kegiatan yang dilakukan mahasiswi calon guru matematika dalam memahami definisi formal barisan konvergen dengan menggunakan visualisasi. Kegiatan-kegiatan ini memberikan gambaran tahap-tahap memahami definisi dengan visualisasi. Kegiatan-kegiatan tersebut diperoleh berdasarkan hasil penelitian deskriptif-eksploratif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Untuk mendapatkan data, dipilih satu mahasiswi sebagai subjek penelitian. Untuk mendapatkan data yang alami, digunakan metode wawancara berbasis tugas dengan format semi-terstruktur dalam mengumpulkan data. Untuk memvalidasi data, digunakan triangulasi waktu. Untuk menganalisis data, digunakan reduksi, kategorisasi, sintesisasi, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa untuk memahami definisi formal barisan konvergen, mahasiswi: mengenali, membayangkan, memperlihatkan gambaran barisan konvergen, memperlihatkan gambaran atribut definisi, dan menyimpulkan.

Abstract

Gaya belajar memberikan kebiasaan dan dapat mempengaruhi pemrosesan informasi dalam berpikir. Jurnal ini membahas profil berpikir visual mahasiswa calon guru matematika dengan gaya belajar auditorial dalam menyelesaikan masalah trigonometri. Penelitian deskriptif-eksploratif digunakan dengan pendekatan kualitatif, yaitu: penentuan sumber informasi, pengembangan instrumen, pengumpulan, validasi, penafsiran, analisis, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Ketika memahami, pikiran mendapat input visual dari soal dan petunjuk, kemudian pembayangan mental yang muncul diolah dan direpresentasikan dalam bentuk gambar; 2) Ketika merencanakan, pikiran mendapat input visual dari gambar dan pengetahuan sebelumnya, kemudian pembayangan mental yang muncul membentuk ide; 3) Ketika melaksanakan, pikiran mendapat input visual dari hasil memahami dan merencanakan, kemudian pembayangan mental yang muncul diolah dan dimanfaatkan sesuai kebutuhan tiap aktivitas untuk menyelesaikan masalah; dan 4) Ketika memeriksa kembali, pikiran mendapat input visual dari gambar-gambar yang ada, kemudian pembayangan mental yang muncul digunakan sebagai dasar perhitungan ulang sehingga diperoleh kesimpulan.

Abstract

With the COVID-19 pandemic, the government has decided to get used to life with a new normal era. Education in the new normal era certainly requires new adjustments to the organization of learning including the provision of learning media. Magnetic Venn Diagrams (MAVENDI) are designed as learning media to increase student activity on the set material. The purpose of this study was to determine the results of the development of MAVENDI to improve student learning activities in the new normal era on the set material. The method used is research and development (R&D) with the 4D model which is focused on the development stage. A limited trial was conducted on 6 students and a field trial on 12 VII grade students of Singo Walisongo Magetan, East Java. Data collection using a validation questionnaire sheet, questionnaire responses and observations of student activity. The results of the development of this media were declared to be quite valid with a percentage of 88.59% based on an expert validation questionnaire, this media obtained high practicality criteria with a final score on a limited trial of P = 4.23 and on a field trial of P = 4.23 based on student response questionnaire. This media was declared effective by obtaining a percentage of 66.7% in limited trials, whereas in field trials obtained 64.7% with active criteria, based on observations of student activity.

Abstract

Tujuan dari kegiatan PKM ini adalah untuk memberikan pelatihan dasar manajemen bagi Usaha Mikro Kecil dan Menengah Desa Cilengka. Metode kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dimulai dengan tahap persiapan dan survei lapangan. Tahap survei ini dimulai dengan berdiskusi langsung bersama ketua Desa Cicalengka Kecamatan Pagedangan Kabupaten Tangerang untuk mengidentifikasi kebutuhan, peluang, dan tantangan yang dihadapi oleh para pelaku usaha UMKM. Kemudian, tahap sosialisasi dan pelatihan dilakukan oleh tim. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah pengetahuan peserta dalam hal ini pelaku usaha UMKM mengenai manajemen usaha sebelum kegiatan PKM mayoritas berada di kategori kurang memahami. Setelah kegiatan PKM dilaksanakan dan pemaparan materi disampaikan, diketahui bahwa pengetahuan peserta mengenai manajemen usaha setelah disampaikan semakin meningkat.

Abstract

Hygiene diartikan sebagai ilmu yg berkenaan dengan masalah kesehatan dan berbagai usaha untuk mempertahankan atau memperbaiki kesehatan.kebersihan lingkungan merupakan salah satu faktor yang sangat mempengaruhi tingkat kesehatan bagi lingkungan dan individu. Pemahaman tentang hygiene masih dikategorikan cukup, hal ini dapat terlihat dari kebiasaan anak-anak yang selalu membuang sampai sembarangan. Tujuan kegiatan ini ialah untuk memberikan pemahaman terhadap pentingnya menjaga kesehatan dan mendeteksi tingkat kebersihan terhadap siswa-sekolah menengah atas. Metode yang digunakan ialah berupa pemantauan kebersihan lingkungan dan penyuluhan. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa lingkungan sekolah menengah atas sudah masuk dalam kategori cukup bersih namun ada beberapa hal yang harus dibenahi yakni pengetahuan terhadap pentingnya menjaga kesehatan serta dampak yang akan diperoleh jika tidak bisa mengendalikan kebersihan secara berkesinambungan.
