Abstract

Abstract

Indonesia is the world’s leading exporter of palm oil, fulfilling approximately 52% of global demand. The export of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) serves as a strategic component of the country's agro-based industry and remains the largest contributor to non-oil and gas foreign exchange earnings. Despite its significance, there remains limited empirical research examining the impact of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), Domestic Investment (DI), and the exchange rate on Indonesia’s CPO export value, particularly over the period 2000 to 2024. This study aims to fill that gap by employing secondary time series data sourced from the World Bank, Statistics Indonesia (Badan Pusat Statistik), and Bank Indonesia. The research applies a multiple linear regression analysis using the EViews 12 statistical software. The results reveal that FDI has a positive and statistically significant effect on Indonesia’s CPO export value. In contrast, Domestic Investment and the exchange rate show no significant partial influence. However, when analyzed simultaneously, FDI, DI, and exchange rate collectively exert a significant impact on CPO export performance. Furthermore, the analysis of export value trends from 2000 to 2024 shows a generally positive trajectory, highlighting the continued importance of policy support and investment in maintaining Indonesia's dominance in the global palm oil market.

Abstract

U.S. Quantitative Research policies significantly impact economic variables in Asia-Pacific, including inflation, interest rates, unemployment, and exchange rate depreciation, but the causal relationship remains unclear. Understanding these policies' impact is important for economic stability and growth amid global uncertainty. Using data from the World Bank and IMF, Granger's causality analysis was used to uncover the relationships between these variables. The findings show that U.S. inflation is unrelated to unemployment in the Asia-Pacific, but The Fed's interest rates correlate with inflation and unemployment in the region. Rising US interest rates could have a negative impact on unemployment, especially for countries that depend on foreign capital or have strong economic ties with the U.S. Policy recommendations include enhancing regional cooperation, implementing efficient monetary policy, diversifying the economy, investing in workforce education and training, and evaluating U.S. policies to maintain economic stability in the Asia-Pacific.

Abstract

This study is for observing the regional financial performance influence of regencies/cities in South Sumatera province. The research is implemented quantitatively by using the data panel double regression of the 2006 – 2015 time period. Regional financial performance covers fiscal decentralization, autonomy, effectiveness and efficiency. Based on a partial count, fiscal decentralization has a regression coefficient as large as 62.73185, which means fiscal decentralization has a positive and significant influence to economic growth. Then regional finance autonomy has a regression coefficient as large as -16.04656 which means that regional autonomy has a negative influence yet significant to economic growth. Observing from regional financial effectiveness which has a regression coefficient as large as -0.074855, which means that effectiveness has a negative influence and not significant to economic growth. Regional financial efficiency has a regression coefficient as large as -0.254122, which means that efficiency has a negative influence and not significant to economic growth. Based on the count as a whole it means that Fiscal Decentralization, Regional Finance Autonomy, Effectiveness, and Efficiency have significant influences to economic growth. This means regional financial performance is very influential to the economic growth of regencies/cities in South Sumatera Province in the 2006-2015 time period. Abstract

Income distribution disparity is an economic issue addressed within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as it can have adverse effects on a country's socio-political landscape. This study aims to determine the impact of healthcare expenditure, educational expenditure, social spending, and trade on income distribution disparities in Indonesia. This research is of a quantitative nature, utilizing secondary data obtained from various sources, including the Directorate General of Fiscal Balance (DJPK) and the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS). The analytical approach employed involves panel data regression analysis using the Random Effect Model (REM). The research scope encompasses all 34 provinces in Indonesia from 2010 to 2022. The findings reveal that both collectively and individually, healthcare expenditure, education expenditure, social protection spending, and trade significantly influence income distribution disparities in Indonesia. Specifically, investment in healthcare and education exhibits a negative correlation with income disparity, while social protection spending and trade displays a positive correlation.

Abstract

ASEAN economies have undergone significant structural transformation, driven by increasing foreign direct investment (FDI), trade openness, and renewable energy adoption. This study investigates the long-run relationship among these variables and their effects on economic growth across ten ASEAN countries from 1998 to 2022. Using panel data and an Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) approach, this research examines both short-run and long-run dynamics. The long-run estimation reveals that FDI negatively affects economic growth with a coefficient of -0.486, indicating crowding-out effects and institutional inefficiencies. Similarly, trade openness shows a significant negative impact (-0.010), reflecting vulnerabilities related to external shocks and structural imbalance. In contrast, renewable energy consumption exerts a positive and significant influence (0.224), supporting the green growth hypothesis. Short-run results differ, with both FDI and trade openness positively influencing growth, while renewable energy remains statistically insignificant. The model confirms long-run cointegration among variables, validating their interdependence in shaping growth trajectories. These findings highlight that while FDI and trade liberalization may yield short-term gains, their long-term benefits depend on institutional quality and policy design. The study contributes to policy discourse by emphasizing the strategic importance of investing in renewable energy infrastructure and enhancing domestic absorptive capacity to sustain inclusive and resilient economic growth in ASEAN.
