Abstract

This study explores the experiences, challenges, and perceptions of Indonesian senior high school students, specifically those with Sundanese mother tongue backgrounds, as they utilize the "U-Dictionary" app to enhance their English pronunciation. Employing a qualitative case study approach with semi-structured interviews, the research investigates students' experiences with the app, their challenges, and their perceptions of its features and effectiveness. Additionally, it examines the influence of cultural factors, such as Sundanese phonology, on pronunciation acquisition. Grounded in Kolb's experiential learning cycle, the analysis focuses on how the app's functionalities, including pronunciation assistance, translation tools, and interactive feedback, contribute to pronunciation development. The findings indicate that students appreciated the app's interactive and user-friendly features, which facilitated their pronunciation practice and increased their confidence in speaking English. However, they faced challenges in accurately mimicking native pronunciation due to phonological differences and occasional inconsistencies in the app's feedback. Generally, students also perceived U-Dictionary as a powerful tool for pronunciation practice besides suggesting improvements in feedback accuracy and the inclusion of more tailored exercises. This study highlights the potential of mobile technology in supporting language learning for non-native speakers with specific linguistic backgrounds, providing valuable recommendations for app developers to enhance the app's functionalities and for educators to integrate such tools effectively into their teaching practices.

Abstract

This research presents the findings of a study on the use of learning mathematics by using model Missouri Mathematics Project to increase students' mathematical reasoning abilities. The study involved an experimental class and control class is taken from the eighth grade at SMP Negeri 1 Cimahi in the second semester of the academic year 2015-2016. Research using essay test instruments to evaluate students' mathematical reasoning abilitiy and use students' responses to determine the students' response to learning that is used. To compare the ability of the two classes, the researchers used one-way t test for two independent samples. While to analyze the hypothesis concerning the gain classroom experiments, the researchers used one sample t test. From the results of the pretest known that the mean score of control class of mathematical reasoning is 13,25 while the experimental class is 12,30. Through t test on the value of the note that the value tcount = -0,51. While the degree of freedom df = 5% and 56 known ttable = 2,0042 From both these data we know that - 2,0042

Abstract

ABSTRACT The level of vitamin B1 in tempe could be increased by modifying the surface of substrate during soybean fermentation. This research aimed to know the influence of substrate thickness during soybean fermentation into tempe to the levels of vitamin B1. The design of this research was completed randomized design with two replication. Vitamin B1 content was analyzed on raw soybeans, boiled soybeans, and tempe using spectrophotometer methods. The substrate thicknesses examined were 0.25 cm, 0.50 cm and 1.00cm. Vitamin B1 level on raw soybean was 0.7436 mg percent and on boiled soybean was 0.4898 mg percent, while in tempe with substrate thickness  0.25 cm, 0.50 cm and 1.00 cm, the vitamin B1 contents were 1.1413, 0.9044, and 0.7130 mg percent respectively. The thickness of tempe substrate affected on vitamin B1 content. A thinner substrate resulted on higher vitamin B1 level. Keywords: fermentation, tempe, vitamin B1   ABSTRAK Kadar vitamin B1 pada tempe dapat ditingkatkan dengan memodifikasi permukaan dari substrat dalam fermentasi kedelai. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh ketebalan substrat pada fermentasi kedelai menjadi tempe terhadap kadar vitamin B1. Disain penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan dua kali ulangan. Kadar vitamin B1 dianalisis pada kedelai mentah, kedelai rebus, dan tempe dengan menggunakan metode spektrofotometri. Ketebalan substrat yang diteliti adalah 0.25 cm, 0,50 cm, 1,00 cm. Kadar vitamin B1 pada  kedelai mentah adalah 0,7436 mg persen dan pada kedelai rebus adalah 0.4898 mg persen. Sedangkan kadar vitamin B1 pada tempe dengan ketebalan 0,25, 0,5 dan 1 cm secara berturut-turut adalah 1,1413 mg persen , 0,9044 mg persen dan 0,7130 mg persen. Ketebalan substar tempe berpengaruh pada kandungan vitamin B1. Semakin tipis substrat, akan menghasilkan vitamin B1 yang semakin tinggi. Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil pemeriksaan awal yang peneliti lakukan pada 15 orang anak tunanetra di temukan bahwa ada 13 orang anak (87%) terdapat karies gigi dan ada 2 orang anak (13%) bebas karies gigi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan tindakan menyikat gigi dengan status kebersihan gigi dan mulut anak Tunanetra di SLB Bukesra Kota Banda Aceh. Penelitian ini bersifat analitik dengan desain cross sectional melalui metode wawancara berupa tindakan menyikat gigi dan pemeriksaan OHI-S. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh anak tunanetra yang yang berada di SLB Bukesra Banda Aceh yang berjumlah 30 orang anak dan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik sampling jenuh. Dan analisa data menggunakan uji statistic yaitu uji Chi-square dengan menggunakan program SPSS. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa tindakan berupa teknik menyikat gigi masih dalam kriteria kurang baik dengan status kebersihan gigi dan mulut pada kategori buruk yaitu sebanyak 9 orang (30%) dengan nilai p=0,05, tindakan berupa frekuensi menyikat gigi masih dalam kriteria kurang baik dengan status kebersihan gigi dan mulut pada kategori buruk yaitu sebanyak 13 orang (43%) dengan nilai p=0,03 dan tindakan berupa waktu menyikat gigi masih dalam kriteria kurang baik dengan status kebersihan gigi dan mulut pada kategori buruk yaitu sebanyak 14 orang (47%) dengan nilai p=0,03. Kesimpulan yang dapat diambil bahwa hubungan tindakan menyikat gigi secara teknik, frekuensi dan waktu dengan status kebersihan gigi dan mulut anak tunanetra. Disarankan kepada anak tunantre agar lebih memperhatikan kebersihan gigi dan mulut, seperti menyikat gigi 2 kali sehari setelah sarapan pagi dan sebelum tidur malam.
