Abstract

Technological advancements in the industrial sector have led to rapid developments in 3D printing technology, enabling the creation of three-dimensional prototype models. Various filaments, including polyethylene terephthalate glycol, nylon, and polylactic acid, have been widely adopted in the industry. However, filaments composed of metal mixtures are relatively scarce in Indonesia, primarily available only through select online shops worldwide. The production and sale of such filaments present lucrative opportunities within the manufacturing industry. In this research, an experimental study was conducted to examine the hardness of test specimens fabricated using PLA-brass filament. The objective was to identify the optimal hardness value of the specimens. The study focused on three key parameters: nozzle temperature, layer height, and print speed, each at two different levels. The Taguchi L4(2³) experimental design was employed, along with S/N ratio and ANOVA analysis, to evaluate the results. The findings revealed that specific combinations of parameters yield favorable hardness values, as determined by the Taguchi Method. The optimal set of parameters for achieving good hardness values was determined to be a nozzle temperature of 230°C, a layer height of 0.2 mm, and a print speed of 40 mm/s. These results enhance the understanding of PLA-brass filament properties and facilitate the utilization of 3D printing technology in the manufacturing industry.

Abstract

Panel surya dapat mengubah energi matahari menjadi listrik, Penggunaan panel surya masih memiliki kendala, salah satunya adalah efisiensi daya keluaran yang masih rendah. Salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan efisiensi daya keluaran panel surya adalah dengan mengatur temperatur panel surya. Temperatur panel surya yang terlalu tinggi akan mengurangi efisiensi panel surya, sehingga diperlukan sistem pendinginan untuk menjaga temperatur panel surya tetap pada temperatur yang optimal. Variasi laju aliran pada tubular cooler serta pelapisan kaca film digunakan pada penelitian ini. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh tubular cooler dan kaca film pada panel surya terhadap daya keluaran, efisiensi maupun temperatur yang dihasilkan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimental dengan menggunakan sistem pendingin tubular cooler dan kaca film pada panel. Pengambilan data dilakukan selama 6 hari dikondisi luar lapangan. Tingkat kegelapan kaca film divariasikan dan membaginya menjadi dua kelompok penelitian. Pada penelitian pertama digunakan kaca film 0% dan variasi laju aliran 1,2 L/menit, 1,6 L/menit dan 2 L/menit. Pada kelompok penelitian kedua menggunakan kaca film 20% dan variasi laju aliran 1,2 L/menit, 1,6 L/menit dan 2 L/menit. Hasil penelitian pada kelompok pertama menunjukkan panel surya mengalami penurunan temperatur terbesar hingga 11,69%. Penuunan temperatur yang terjadi, menghasilkan peningkatan daya keluaran hingga mencapai 31,88% dibanding panel tanpa pendingin. Pada penelitian kelompok kedua, penggunaan kaca film 20% sangat efektif dalam menurunkan temperatur panel hingga 15,84%, tetapi mengalami penurunan daya keluaran. Penurunan ini disebabkan karena adanya pengurangan intensitas matahari yang diterima oleh panel.

Abstract

Plastic is a polymer that has unique and extraordinary characteristic properties. With a binder (plastic) can be combined with metal elements, namely aluminum. Aluminum is chosen as an alloy material because it has good strength and tenacity. Metal alloy plastic can be processed by a method called injection molding. Injection molding is a process used in making plastic products. This research was conducted with barrel temperature, injection pressure and cooling time process variables. While the response variable is warpage defects. This study aims to determine the effect of variations in process parameters is barrel temperature, injection pressure, cooling time on warpage defects in injection molding products with Al-PP alloy material, and find out the optimum variation of parameters in the injection molding process. The results showed that barrel temperature had an effect of 91.62% on the value of warpage defect response, this condition can be observed as the level barrel temperature increases, the value of warpage defects also increases. The effect of 6.43% injection pressure on the value of warpage defects due to an increase in each injection pressure level will reduce the chance of warpage defects. The effect of cooling time parameters is 1.78% on the value of warpage defects, which means that the longer the cooling time, the greater the response or warpage produced. The optimum variation of parameters in the injection molding process in the ASTM A370 test specimen in barrel temperature parameters at level 1 is 150 oC, the injection pressure parameter at level 3 is 11 bar and the cooling time parameter at level 1 is 15 seconds.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the addition of Stern flap to the performance of fisheries surveillance patrol vessels using Computional Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Stern flap is an additional component on the hull installed at the stern of the ship and serves to reduce the resistance that occurs on the ship. The design or simulation used to compile this research is a literature study, with the Computational Fluid Dynamics method using ANSYS Workbench for Student 2023 R2 software simulation. This study discusses the analysis, simulation, and research results related to hydrostatic and aerodynamic resistance on patrol boat models with and without the use of stern flaps at speed variations from 10 knots to 25 knots. The results show that the use of stern flaps increases hydrostatic resistance at low speeds, but can reduce aerodynamic resistance at high speeds. The comparison shows a significant increase in hydrostatic resistance at low speed with the highest value at 10 knots of 54%, while a decrease in aerodynamic resistance occurs at high speed, especially at 25 knots with a decrease of 23%. These results provide important insights in patrol boat design for performance optimization at various operational speeds.

Abstract

Teknologi 3D printing merupakan sebuah alat percetakan modern yang sudah berkembang dalam dunia manufacturing. Dalam penelitian ini, dilakukan inovasi dengan menggunakan filamen yang terdiri dari PLA dan kuningan. Penentuan kombinasi parameter 3D printing menjadi kunci untuk mencapai kekuatan bending paling optimal pada hasil cetakan. Parameter yang diatur meliputi suhu nozzle temperature, print speed, dan layer height. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Taguchi L4(23), serta pengolahan data menggunakan ANOVA. Kombinasi parameter optimal pada penelitian ini menggunakan suhu nozzle temperature 240 ⁰C, layer height 0,2 mm dan print speed 20 mm/s dengan nilai kekuatan bending sebesar 8.72MPa dan terendah 2.66 MPa. Faktor yang berkontribusi terhadap nilai bending adalah nozzle temperature dan layer height dengan kontribusi sebesar 45.29 % dan 20.91 % keduanya memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan. Kontribusi print speed sebesar 9.09 % tidak signifikan.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the understanding and skills of residents of RT 07, Sukodono Village, Sidoarjo, in applying hydroponic technology as a solution for managing limited land and supporting food security. This activity consists of lectures and discussions, as well as the installation of a hydroponic system. During the lectures and discussions, residents were given an understanding of the basic principles of hydroponics, its benefits, and how to apply it in limited land. Discussions were held to explore more deeply the challenges and potential of applying hydroponics in a household environment. The final stage, the installation of the hydroponic system, involved residents directly in the creation and installation of a simple but effective hydroponic system. Although there was no harvest to report at the time of the activity, residents successfully understood and installed the hydroponic system correctly. This success shows that residents of RT 07, Sukodono Village have the potential to manage hydroponic gardens independently. This activity made a significant contribution to increasing food self-sufficiency at the local level, even though challenges in terms of maintenance and limited resources remain.
