Abstract

The Quran emphasizes the significant role of women in Islam and highlights their importance through various verses. It promotes equal treatment and opportunities for both genders, recommending education for women and acknowledging their crucial social contributions. Several Quranic verses discuss the rights and obligations shared equally by men and women, demonstrating that there is no inherent discrimination between them. Additionally, specific provisions within the Quran grant unique benefits to women during childbirth and childcare processes. Despite these principles of equality, some interpretations suggest limitations on women’s participation in public spheres. Ultimately, the Quran serves as a guiding framework for Muslims navigating contemporary challenges. This study employs a descriptive qualitative content analysis with thematic interpretation (Maudhu'i method) to analyze selected Quranic verses addressing similar topics. By examining these interconnected themes, we conclude that both sexes enjoy identical rights and roles; sometimes, women receive preferential treatment as evident from specific Quranic passages. While discussions around male responsibilities often focus on duties, those concerning females center on their entitlements. Keywords: Quran, Women, Rights, Equality

Abstract

Ada banyak peran yang telah dimainkan pondok pesantren dan tokoh-tokoh kyai kharismatiknya dalam membumikan nilai-nilai tasawuf, baik dalam tataran wacana maupun praktik, dengan menghidupkan tradisi literasi intelektual terhadap kitab-kitab karya tulis ulama besar di masa lampau, nasional maupun internasional. Dengan begitu, apa yang telah dirintis dan dibangun para kyai dan ulama melalui pondok pesantrennya telah menjelma sebagai corong ilmu dan praktik keagamaan Islam, juga sekaligus menjadi referensi dan respon positif terhadap isu-isu sosial dan budaya masyarakat yang dihadapi. Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif ini menggunakan studi pustaka ditujukan untuk mengeksplorasi profil Kyai Ihsan Jampes sebagai salah satu tokoh penting ulama nusantara dan perannya dalam membangun tradisi dan nilai-nilai pendidikan pondok pesantren. Komitmen Kyai Ihsan Jampes terhadap praktik-praktik bertasawuf dan berfiqih di sisi yang lain, menunjukkan bahwa sikap beliau berada pada kerangka cara berpikir moderat, yaitu selalu mengedepankan paradigma berpikir yang memandang persoalan tidak dalam bingkai ekstrem, baik ekstrem kanan maupun ekstrem kiri, yang dalam kerangka teologis menjadi potret ajaran Ahlussunnah wal Jama’ah.

Abstract

The problem of this research is the da'wah of Sunan Kalijaga, which was based on local culture in the midst of Javanese society, which still embraced Hinduism and Buddhism at that time. The spread of Islam in Java faced theological, religious, and moral challenges because it was a new teaching. The research method used is a qualitative-library study using literature in the form of books and scientific research. The data was analyzed through descriptive analysis focusing on Sunan Kalijaga's cultural da'wah axiology. The results showed that Sunan Kalijaga's cultural da'wah involved the acculturation of Javanese culture and Islamic values, with the principles of upholding the cultural values of the Palace, enriching Islamic literature, considering social, cultural, and political stability, and being protected by the government. This da'wah's creedal and moral values include religious moderation, increasing religious harmony, and faith in Allah, the Prophet, and the Qur'an.

Abstract

Social media not only creates a new public sphere for the expression of religious activities but also serves as a contested arena for religious discourse. In Indonesia, one of the key discourses under contention is moderate Islamic discourse. This article addresses two primary questions: First, what forms does contested moderate Islamic discourse take on social media, and what strategies are employed in these contests?.  Second, what factors contribute to the emergence of these contestations surrounding moderate Islamic discourse on social media?. Using Fairclough’s critical discourse analysis as a theoretical framework, this research explores qualitative data gathered through the observation of YouTube videos. The findings indicate that the contestation of moderate Islamic discourse on YouTube occurs not only between traditional and new religious authorities, as is often assumed, but also among traditional religious authorities themselves. These groups compete to articulate the true and ideal meaning of moderate Islam. The contestation is driven by a combination of ideological, economic, political, and socio-cultural factors that influence the digital sphere in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of the Tutur Uwur Sembur (TUS) instructional method in enhancing student academic achievement at MIS Unggulan Masjid Besar Jabalul Khoir, located in Grobogan Regency. Despite the madrasah's considerable institutional potential, student academic performance remains suboptimal. To address this issue, the study adopts a qualitative research approach employing a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with teachers, students, and parents; direct classroom observations; and analysis of academic records. Research instruments included structured interview protocols, observation checklists, and document analysis formats. The findings reveal that the application of the TUS method significantly contributes to increased student motivation, heightened classroom engagement, and overall improvement in academic outcomes. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the entrepreneurship education model through vocational skills at Manba'ul Hikmah and Al Musyaffa' Islamic Boarding Schools in Kendal Regency, focusing on the reasons for its implementation, the process, and the results achieved. The research is based on the important role of Islamic boarding schools in developing students’ religious knowledge, practical skills, and moral character to address the challenges of Society 5.0 and the Industrial Revolution 4.0. A qualitative approach was used with a case study design and a comparative descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, unstructured interviews, and documentation, with purposive sampling applied to select informants. The findings show that the entrepreneurship education model at both boarding schools successfully equips students with vocational and entrepreneurial skills such as agriculture, crafts, digital technology, culinary arts, and business management. Students become more economically independent, capable of managing school business units, and contribute to community economic empowerment. The program also enhances the operational efficiency of the institutions and integrates Islamic values into practical learning. Overall, this integrative entrepreneurship education model effectively prepares students for the workforce, fosters independence, and strengthens institutional sustainability. It can serve as a practical reference for other Islamic boarding schools seeking to develop students’ competencies in line with modern economic and technological demands while maintaining strong Islamic values

Abstract

Character education that cultivates love for the homeland is a fundamental pillar in shaping a generation with strong loyalty to the nation and state. The strengthening of this character is a collective responsibility involving families, schools, communities, and the government. The absence or negligence of any of these elements can negatively affect the formation of national identity among students. This study aims to explore strategies for enhancing nationalist character through cultural education and ideological literacy, particularly in response to the ideological threat posed by organizations such as Hizb ut-Tahrir Indonesia (HTI), whose doctrines contradict the ideology of Pancasila. This research employs a qualitative method with a library research approach by reviewing relevant academic literature. The analysis process includes data collection, reduction, display, and verification to ensure the validity of findings. The results indicate that fostering love for the homeland can be strengthened through the integration of local and national culture in the curriculum. Furthermore, students must be equipped with critical awareness of transnational ideologies such as HTI that are incompatible with the foundational values of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. Therefore, Islamic education holds a strategic role in building ideological resilience among the younger generation while preserving cultural heritage as part of national identity.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas moderasi beragama yang diterapkan oleh Sunan Kalijaga dalam menyebarkan ajaran Islam di Jawa. Sebagai tokoh yang menggabungkan ajaran Islam dengan kearifan lokal, Sunan Kalijaga menggunakan seni dan budaya, seperti wayang, tembang Jawa, dan gamelan, sebagai medium dakwah. Pendekatan moderat ini mencerminkan toleransi dan inklusivitas, yang memungkinkan Islam diterima oleh masyarakat tanpa menimbulkan konflik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif berbasis studi pustaka dengan sumber data utama dari karya-karya yang membahas Walisongo dan moderasi beragama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan moderat yang dilakukan Sunan Kalijaga relevan dengan upaya menjaga harmoni sosial dalam masyarakat multikultural dan tetap relevan untuk mengatasi tantangan ekstremisme agama di era modern.

Abstract

Islamic Nusantara Education is an educational system rooted in universal Islamic values and local wisdom. This article examines the characteristics of Islamic Nusantara education from a philosophical perspective, including educators, students, materials, educational tools, and the environment. The study employed a qualitative-descriptive approach based on literature. The results indicate that this educational model is capable of addressing contemporary educational challenges with an approach incorporating moderation, spirituality, and local culture. This article also offers contributions and suggestions for strengthening character education based on Islamic Nusantara values in the era of globalization.

Abstract

Model pendidikan madrasah di Indonesia memiliki posisi strategis dalam sistem pendidikan nasional sebagai lembaga yang memadukan nilai-nilai Islam dengan ilmu pengetahuan modern. Berakar dari tradisi pendidikan pesantren dan surau, madrasah berperan penting dalam membentuk generasi Muslim yang beriman, berilmu, dan berakhlak mulia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji karakteristik, implementasi, serta kontribusi model pendidikan madrasah terhadap pembentukan karakter dan wawasan peserta didik di era modern. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif-deskriptif dengan pendekatan kepustakaan (library research) melalui telaah berbagai literatur klasik dan kontemporer tentang pendidikan Islam, seperti karya Al-Ghazali, Az-Zarnuji, Abdullah Nashih Ulwan, dan Azyumardi Azra. Analisis dilakukan terhadap tiga jenjang pendidikan madrasah Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, Madrasah Tsanawiyah, dan Madrasah Aliyah  sesuai tahap perkembangan peserta didik. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa madrasah berhasil mengintegrasikan pendidikan agama dan ilmu umum melalui kurikulum yang menekankan pembentukan akidah, akhlak, dan intelektualitas peserta didik. Madrasah tidak hanya berperan sebagai lembaga transfer ilmu, tetapi juga agen pembinaan karakter dan transformasi sosial, yang melahirkan generasi berwawasan global dan berlandaskan nilai moderasi beragama (wasathiyah Islamiyyah). Dalam menghadapi tantangan era digital, madrasah perlu terus berinovasi melalui integrasi teknologi pembelajaran, peningkatan kompetensi guru, serta revitalisasi nilai-nilai pesantren agar tetap relevan dan berdaya saing. Dengan demikian, model pendidikan madrasah merupakan pilar penting pembangunan peradaban Islam Nusantara yang mampu mencetak generasi ulul albab generasi yang beriman, berakhlak, dan siap berkontribusi dalam masyarakat global yang multikultural.
