Abstract

Since 2016, citizens in Indonesia have faced free competition within the framework of the AEC (ASEAN Economic Community). For this reason, the first step in facing the AEC is to introduce younger generation, especially at the state's borders, to the opportunities and challenges within the AEC. After that, there must be efforts to cultivate entrepreneurial character along with selling products or services through digital marketing/marketplace. Based on the purpose, this community service activity is carried out by using counseling approach and by targeting students of SMA Negeri 1 Rupat Utara on the edge of the Malacca Strait. After its implementation, it is known that the students, from not knowing the AEC, become aware of the AEC. They are more motivated to face AEC by doing business after finishing school, continuing their education to college or working as a trained workforce. The conclusion of this activity is that the students of SMAN 1 Rupat Utara already have an entrepreneurial character. It's just that these characters must be honed and directed so that they are maximized in facing AEC.

Abstract

Coastal fisheries in Tanjung Medang Village, North Rupat District, Bengkalis Regency play an important role in shaping the economic characteristics and culture of its community. Physically, the North Rupat District is predominantly divided into residential areas along the inter-village roads and coastal areas that serve as the primary source of livelihood for most of its population. Now, North Rupat District has become a destination for both residents and visitors, impacting the existence of increasingly complex local economic resources and wisdom along the coastal areas of North Rupat District. Revitalization of coastal fisheries production factors is needed to improve economic life. Therefore, what model of economic development policy is needed to access traditional local economic resources to reduce local poverty? What kind of revitalization is required for traditional fishermen to utilize maritime economic resources fairly for the local population? The economic development policy for alternative marine economic resources involves integrating and collaborating the rights and obligations of state actors, private actors, and the public in maritime politics and economics. The revitalization of coastal fisheries production factors includes organizing the ecological integration of areas as traditional fishing grounds, tourism economic areas, and the originality of traditional culture across various disciplines, as well as fostering cultural integration among stakeholders and intergenerational concern among the Tanjung Medang community.

Abstract

The conflict between Russia and Ukraine has had a significant impact on wheat imports to Indonesia and trade cooperation between the two countries. Although economic cooperation between Ukraine and Indonesia has been established in recent years, tensions between Russia and Ukraine have resulted in serious disruption to these relations. This research uses a qualitative literature study method by collecting data from books, academic journals, official documents, laws, and related internet sources, namely research on the conflict between Russia and Ukraine and its effect on wheat cooperation with Indonesia. The results of this research are that the Russia-Ukraine conflict has an impact on Indonesian wheat imports and trade cooperation between the two countries. Despite economic cooperation, this conflict disrupted the relationship. Indonesia, the largest wheat importer, was affected by supply disruptions, price increases and shipping disruptions. The government needs to establish a flexible and efficient import policy and support domestic wheat farming. Collaboration with Ukraine and other parties is needed to increase Indonesia's food security. Keywords: Russia-Ukraine conflict, wheat imports, economic cooperation

Abstract

The increase in egg prices was triggered by the high price of local chicken feed. Then the government imports eggs on the grounds that the price of imported eggs is cheaper than local chicken eggs. It needs to be underlined by the government to limit the entry of egg imports so that local breeds of chickens do not accumulate, rot and farmers do not lose money. Even though the quality of local breed eggs is the same as eggs outside research in this writing is in the form of descriptive analysis, which is a method that serves to describe or describe the object under study through data or samples that have been collected as they are without conducting analysis and making conclusions that apply to the public. In other words, analytical descriptive research takes problems or focuses attention on problems as they are when the research is carried out, the results of the research are then processed and analyzed to draw conclusions. Indonesia in 2018 carried out a policy of importing eggs originating from the United States. This policy is taken based on several interests, which are as follow: First, the import of eggs is carried out to secure supply. National chicken egg production experienced a surplus in 2018-2019, however, the surplus figure was still relatively small. So the government imports eggs. Second, egg imports are carried out because egg prices continue to soar. The government took the decision to increase the import quota because the price of chicken eggs was still high. The development of purebred chicken egg prices at the consumer level per month for the 2017-2018 period fluctuated and tended to increase. Third, egg imports are carried out to prevent transmission of the avian influenza virus (Avian Influenza AI). Imports in the form of eggs are expected to prevent the transmission of avian influenza (AI). This is because imports in the form of live chickens have the potential to be contaminated with AI while transiting in a country, and fourth, eggs are a priority product of the Ministry of Trade's Strategic Plan (Renstra). Abstract

This research discusses how to implement the concept of ASEAN cooperation, namely ASEAN Our Eyes, in dealing with the issue of terrorism in the Philippines. ASEAN Our Eyes (AOE) is a regional collaboration to facilitate ASEAN in exchanging strategic information regarding ways to deal with transnational crime in the context of global security issues. ASEAN Our Eyes (AOE) was inaugurated on January 25, 2018 with six ASEAN member countries signing the cooperation, which was only ratified by all ASEAN members in October 2018 because not all ASEAN member countries immediately agreed to the ASEAN Our Eyes (AOE) cooperation concept. They argue that it is necessary to review this collaboration so that only in October 2018 will all ASEAN member countries ratify it. This research uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques through literature studies sourced from several books, journals, articles, and websites. This research uses the perspectives of institutional liberalism and cooperative security theory. The results of this paper indicate that the implementation of the ASEAN Our Eyes policy in the Philippines is going well with an effective impact. Abstract

The reduction of deforestation is a key indicator in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goals 13 (climate action) and 15 (life on land). This study aimed to analyze the contribution of Asia Pulp and Paper (APP) the largest forestry industry company in Indonesia in reducing deforestation through its Sustainability Roadmap Vision 2030 program. A descriptive qualitative approach was used, employing document analysis and content analysis of secondary data. The study adopted Ronald B. Mitchell’s regime effectiveness theory as the main analytical framework, which evaluates non-state actor contributions using three indicators: output, outcome, and impact. The findings showed that APP demonstrated normative alignment with the SDG framework through its zero-deforestation policy, sustainable supply chain certifications, and implementation of technology-based monitoring systems. These achievements were mostly evident at the output level, such as in policy formulation and reporting. However, at the outcome and impact levels, APP’s contributions have not yet been independently verified. This limitation is echoed in critiques from environmental organizations concerning challenges in supply chain monitoring and indigenous community engagement. Overall, the findings suggest that APP’s current role in regime effectiveness lies primarily in establishing normative legitimacy through policy adjustments and reporting systems. These efforts appear to be driven by the company’s independent self-interest—namely, to maintain its reputation, access global markets, and respond to regulatory and normative stakeholder pressures. Nevertheless, the ecological outcomes of these sustainability initiatives remain inconclusive and require further substantiation.
