Abstract

Violence against women has now become a serious threat and is part of human rights violations. The Convention on the elimination of all forms of discrimination against Women (CEDAW) is one of the international conventions under the United Nations concerning the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women both in the social, political, economic and cultural fields. Russia is one of the parties to the CEDAW convention, which prohibits violence against women both in the public and private spheres and establishes such violence as a form of discrimination. But based on the fact that domestic violence is one of the most frequent discrimination against women in the Russian Federation, it causes Russian women to die and experience severe trauma. In this study the author uses the theory of Radical Feminism. according to kate millet through his theory, "sexual politics" (sexual politics) shows how the position of men is more dominant than women in patriarchal society. Sexual politics is defined as the politicization of power based on gender or gender. The hegemony of masculinity and the subordination of femininity are illustrated through inequality in the distribution of character, role, and status between feminine and masculine. The Government of the Russian Federation is less responsive in dealing with violence or discrimination faced by women in the household. This is influenced by patriarchal cultural factors that are still deeply rooted since the Empire until the current federation. In the legal regulations the Russian government itself does not bind strong rules against perpetrators of domestic discrimination, the Government's legal rules do not work in accordance with the CEDAW convention and the government does not maintain data on cases of female violence that occur in Russia.  Keywords: Domestic Violence, Women, Russian Federation, CEDAW, Human Rights.

Abstract

This study discusses the dispute settlement process between the two countries through dispute settlement body WTO. World Trade Organization (WTO) is a global international organization that specifically regulates issues in trade between countries. WTO itself replaces the role of GATT 1947 as an international trade institution. In 2017, Australia declared that Indonesia had dumped A4 paper which is exported to its country. Indonesian government is accused of providing subsidies to paper producers through a policy of prohibiting log export that causes Particular Market Situation (PMS). The WTO is a mediator between Indonesia and Australia. The WTO acts as a forum for dispute resolution, there are three results from this study. First, the Dispute Settlement Body states that Australia had violated two articles in the WTO Anti-Dumping agreement and the allegations of Particular Market Situation (PMS) hadn’t been proven. Second, Australia is recommended to adjust the calculation of the amount of margin dumping that has been set on Indonesia's A4 copy paper products since 20 April 2017. Third, the two countries agreed to implement the recommendation within eight months. Keywords: WTO, Dumping, Particular Market Situation, Trade Dispute, Dispute Settlement Body

Abstract

This research of this thesis is aimed to recognize the obstacles which are cause the failure of SAFTA in SAARC economy integrating process. The purpose of this thesis more specificly can be seen such as: 1. Describing the failure of SAFTA in improving the intra-regional trading liberalitation of SAARC in 2007-2010. 2. Describing the obstacles of improving the intra-regional trading liberalitation of SAARC. Data collection techniques that do a library research of the literature relevant to the subject matter in the object of research, whether it be books, journals, articles sourced from the internet or newspapers. Data analysis technique used the qualitative analysis. Relevant data collected and analyzed qualitatively, by linking these phenomena with one to another, to get final conclusions. In spite of South Asia free trade cooperation by South Asian Preferential Trade Agremeent (SAPTA) in 1995 and South Asian Free Trade Agreement (SAFTA) in 2006, there is still low percentage of intra-regional trade, especially export volume, compared with their total world export. However, its ratio percentage was 4-6% , whereas Eropa Union was 57-65%, ASEAN was 22-25%, and NAFTA was 48-55% within 2000-2010.The main cause is the incomplementary of their products export both in economy and political perspective. It means that they yield the similiar products, in particularly textile products, so that they have to relocate and sell their export products to outside regional countries, such as United States and Eropa Union, instead of making trade with SAARC members. Keywords : SAARC, SAPTA, SAFTA, incomplementary of their products , industrial policy, and trade policy
