Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of students' concept understanding. This research method is RD research with a one group pretest pottest development design. The development model used is the ADDIE model. The population of this study were all students of class VII MTsN Bangkalan with a sample of class VII-H students totaling 29 students selected through purposive sampling technique. The data collection techniques used are questionnaires, interviews, observations, and tests. 1) The results showed that the validity of the media aspect was 93.47% and the material aspect was 91.67% with a very valid category for both aspects. 2) The result of the N-Gain value of students' concept understanding is 0.75 with a high category.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine students' learning styles as well as the average and types of errors based on Nolting's theory in solving light and optical instrument problems in terms of learning styles. This research uses quantitative descriptive methods. The population and sample are all class VIII students for the 2023/2024 academic year, totaling 26 people. Sampling used nonprobability sampling technique with saturation sampling type. Data collection uses tests, questionnaires and documentation. The research results show that: 1). 5 types of learning styles used by students; visual, auditory, kinesthetic, visual auditory, and auditory kinesthetic. The visual learning style is dominantly used in the classroom. 2) Average errors for types of learning styles, namely; a) The average visual learning style is 8, the type of error that is most often made is Careless Errors with 26 errors (31%). b) The average auditory learning style is 8, the type of error that is most often made is Careless Errors with 17 errors (28%). c) The average kinesthetic learning style is 10, the type of error that is most often made is Careless Errors with 15 errors (38%). d) The average visual auditory learning style is 5, the type of error that is most often made is Concept errors with 3 errors (60%). e) The average auditory kinesthetic learning style is 6, the type of error that is most often made is Concept errors with 6 errors (50%).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kevalidan, peningkatan pemahaman konsep peserta didik, dan respons peserta didik terhadap media pembelajaran monopoli berbasis role playing pada materi bumi dan tata surya kelas VII SMP. Desain pengembangan yang digunakan adalah ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Subjek uji coba dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 8 peserta didik kelas VIII. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 14 peserta didik kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Socah. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan terdiri dari lembar validasi media, tes pemahaman konsep dan angket respons peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Media pembelajaran monopoli berbasis  role playing valid digunakan yang memiliki hasil rata-rata validitas pada aspek media 91,96% dengan kategori sangat valid dan rata-rata hasil validasi aspek materi sebesar 94,44% dengan kategori sangat valid. (2) hasil pemahaman konsep peserta didik mengalami peningkatan  dengan skor N-gain sebesar 0,73 dengan kategori tinggi. (3) Nilai rata-rata hasil respons peserta didik sebesar 86,10% dengan kategori sangat positif. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran monopoli berbasis role playing valid digunakan dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep peserta didik.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini berfokus untuk meningkatkan keterampilan generik sains siswa melalui penerapan learning cycle 7E berabtuan tarsia puzzle pada materi interaksi makhluk hidup dengan lingkungannya. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan desain pre-eksperimental one group pretest-posttest dan dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 3 Lamongan kelas VII tahun ajaran 2021/2022. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik nonprobability sampling jenis purposive sampling. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 31 siswa. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik tes keterampilan generik sains siswa yakni pretest  dan posttest. Data kemudian dianalisis menggunakan N-Gain untuk mengukur peningkatan keterampilan generik sains siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa indikator keterampilan generik sains siswa mempunyai rerata N-Gain sebesar 0,59 dengan kriteria sedang.

Abstract

The lack of contextual learning in the field of science is one of the constraints in teaching and learning science. Contextual learning can be achieved by integrating local wisdom from the students' surroundings into science lesson plans. This approach serves as a bridge for introducing and preserving local wisdom by making it familiar to students. Through science learning based on contextual approaches, students can easily find real-life examples of scientific concepts that they study and observe in their daily lives. This research aims to describe the study of ethnobotany, or the types of natural materials found in one of Madura's local wisdom traditions, specifically the Madura Sonok cow herbal medicine. The findings of this study show a correlation between indigenous knowledge and scientific knowledge. The local community's knowledge of utilizing specific natural materials for livestock consumption, believed to have specific properties and benefits, is connected to scientific concepts in the study of natural materials or their classification. There are many types of scientific concepts that can be integrated with ethnobotany in the context of Madura Sonok cow herbal medicine, such as topics related to temperature and heat, elements, compounds, and mixtures, as well as the classification of living organisms. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques based on field data (interviews with key informants) and supported by relevant articles. The data analysis employed in this study is inductive analysis. This research was conducted in the area known for the local wisdom of Sonok cows, specifically in West Waru, Pamekasan. The conclusion of this study is that the process of making Madura Sonok cow herbal medicine demonstrates connections with three distinct scientific disciplines: chemistry, physics, and biology.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengidentifikasi unsur etnosains yang terdapat pada tradisi Sapi Sonok Madura yang dapat dijadikan sebagai sumber belajar IPA di tingkat SMP. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan September 2024 di Dusun Tobalang 2, Desa Waru Barat, Kecamatan Waru, Kabupaten Pamekasan. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif induktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) hasil kajian etnosains dapat dilihat pada perbedaan Sapi Sonok dengan sapi pada umumnya, perawatan, dan karakteristik agar dapat mengikuti kontes; dan 2) hasil kajian etnosains terhubung dan berkaitan erat dengan materi konsep IPA SMP. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Sapi Sonok Madura dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu sumber pembelajaran yang relevan dalam mata pelajaran IPA di tingkat SMP.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the feasibility, response, media readability, and students' understanding of Nature of Science. This type of research is a pure development with the ADDIE development model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate). The research was conducted at Kanzul Ulum Junior High School grade VII with a total of 27 students for the 2023-2024 school year. The research instrument used a validation questionnaire of media experts, material experts, responses, readability, and Nature of Science comprehension tests. Based on the research, conclusions were obtained: (1) The results of material feasibility and media feasibility obtained a score of 1 with very valid criteria (2) The results of students' responses in individual trials 86.71%, small group trials 84.37% with very good criteria. Meanwhile, the large group test 77.83% with good criteria (3) The results of media readability in the individual trial 87.29%, the small group trial 85.88% with very good criteria.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of students' concept understanding after using the Bonggolan booklet. The material used in the booklet is the classification of living things. This study uses Research and Development (RD) type of research with the ADDIE development model. The population in this study is students of SMP Negeri 31 Gresik in the 2024/2025 academic year. The subjects of this study are students of class VII-C totaling 31 students. The research instrument used is a student concept understanding test sheet. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the improvement of students' concept understanding with an N-Gain score of 0.76 is categorized as high. Thus, the Bonggolan booklet on the classification of living things material can improve students' concept understanding. The conclusion of the study shows that the developed Bonggolan booklet is very valid to be used as a science learning material and can improve students' concept understanding.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the percentage of misconception levels of junior high school students using a five tier diagnostic test on the classification of living things. This type of research is quantitative descriptive with a population of class VII students at SMP Negeri 3 Bangkalan for the 2022/2023 academic year. The samples used in the research were classes VII-A and VII-D based on purposive sampling techniques. Data collection was carried out by administering five tier diagnostic test questions. The research results showed that: 1) Students experienced M (Misconception) 37.73%, SC (Scientific Conception) 17.27%, ASC (Almost Scientific Conception) 2.73%, LK (Lack of Knowledge) 26.64%, NU (No Understanding Conception) 15.18%, and UnC (Un-Code) 0.45%, 2) The percentage of classification of misconception levels based on calculations using standard deviation and the mean of students is in the low misconception category of 27.27%, moderate misconception amounted to 52.73%, and high misconceptions amounted to 20%. Based on the results of the research and data analysis carried out, it can be concluded that the high percentage of students' misconceptions indicates that the material on the classification of living things is quite difficult for students at SMP Negeri 3 Bangkalan to understand.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kevalidan, keterbacaan dan respons siswa terhadap produk yang dikembangkan berupa e-magazine konteks soto Madura pada materi unsur, senyawa dan campuran. Penelitian ini menggunakan model ADDIE. Penelitian dilakukan pada siswa kelas IX-A untuk uji coba terbatas dan VIII-F MTsN Bangkalan untuk tahap implementasi. Instrumen penelitian meliputi lembar validasi, lembar angket keterbacaan, dan lembar angket respons siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan e-magazine konteks soto Madura pada materi unsur, senyawa dan campuran dinyatakan valid dengan nilai validitas 95,14% pada aspek media dan 87,50% pada aspek materi. Hasil keterbacaan siswa terhadap e-magazine mendapatkan kategori sangat baik dengan rata-rata 89,80%. Hasil respons siswa terhadap penggunaan e-magazine mendapatkan kategori sangat tinggi dengan rata-rata 88,83%. Berdasarkan perolehan nilai tersebut menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan e-magazine konteks soto Madura pada materi unsur, senyawa dan campuran dinyatakan sangat valid digunakan dalam pembelajaran, dan sangat baik dari segi keterbacaan serta mendapatkan repons sangat tinggi dari siswa.
