Abstract

This study aims to produce e-modules accompanied by mindmaps on Protista material for class X SMA/MA which is practical. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) using the ASIE model, namely analyze, strategize, implement, and evaluate. The research subjects were 1 biology teacher and 18 students with a data collection instrument in the form of a practicality questionnaire. The results showed that (1) e-modules accompanied by mind maps that have been developed are very practical as evidenced by the percentage value of the practicality test by teachers in the aspect of ease of use of 96.67% with a very practical category, the aspect of learning time efficiency of 100% with a very practical category, and the benefit aspect of 100% with a very practical category. (2) e-modules accompanied by mind maps that have been developed are very practical as evidenced by the percentage value of the practicality test by students in the aspect of ease of use of 89.2% with a very practical category, the efficiency aspect of learning time of 84.95% with a very practical category, and the benefit aspect of 92.2% with a very practical category.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students, during the implementation of learning teachers still tend to use discussion methods, lectures, questions and answers, and scientific approaches. Discussion activities that take place in the learning process have not gone well, because during discussion activities not all group members are involved in answering questions and completing assignments given by the teacher. This will have an impact on students' understanding of the material being studied. This study aims to determine the application of the Group Investigation learning model assisted by Digital Mind Map (GI-DMM) on the Biology learning outcomes of SMAN 1 Sutera Phase F students. This type of research is experimental research and the research design used is Randomized Control Group Pottest Only Design. The population in this study was all F FASE SMAN 1 Sutera in the even semester registered in the 2023/2024 academic year consisting of 9 classes with a total of 265 students. The sample determination was carried out using a purposive sampling technique, namely sampling based on certain considerations, the experimental class F FASE F1 and the control class F FASE F3. The formative assessment research instrument is assessed from the conclusion in the form of a digital mind map, and the summative assessment is assessed in the form of multiple choice questions in the form of a written test. The data analysis technique uses a hypothesis test (t-test). The results of the study on the formative assessment in the experimental class obtained an average value of 88.11 and the control class 80.88. Hypothesis testing using the t test obtained t count 2.89> t table 1.67, meaning that the Hypothesis (H1) is accepted. While in the summative assessment in the experimental class the average value is 62.5 and the control class 55.7. Hypothesis testing using the t test obtained t count 1.82> t table 1.67 meaning that the Hypothesis (H1) is accepted. From both assessments, the experimental class was higher than the control class. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of digital well-being, knowledge of learning media, and teaching material satisfaction on students’ science knowledge and critical thinking skills through an integrative approach using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Data were collected through an online questionnaire administered to 366 respondents, followed by construct validity and reliability testing. The results show that digital well-being has a significant positive effect on science knowledge, but is nonsignificant and even tends to be negative in its relationship with critical thinking skills. In contrast, knowledge of learning media and satisfaction with teaching materials were found to have positive, significant effects on both science knowledge and critical thinking skills. In addition, scientific knowledge is an important predictor of critical thinking skills. Effect size analysis indicates that digital well-being, learning media knowledge, and teaching material satisfaction explain 32.7% of the variance in science knowledge (R² = 0.327). In comparison, satisfaction with science knowledge and teaching materials explains 25.6% of the variance in critical thinking skills (R² = 0.256), indicating a model with moderate predictive strength. These findings confirm that media literacy, satisfaction with teaching materials, and digital well-being work simultaneously to strengthen the foundation of science knowledge while promoting higher-order thinking skills. However, the influence of digital well-being on critical thinking is indirect. This study can serve as a reference for educators and policymakers in designing science learning strategies that balance technology use, strengthen media literacy, and provide relevant teaching materials. Keywords: digital well-being, knowledge of learning media, teaching materials satisfaction, science knowledge, critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Dalam proses pembelajaran pembagian kelompok yang belum heterogen dan media yang belum variatif dapat menimbulkan kebosanan siswa dalam belajar serta kurangnya keterlibatan aktif siswa dalam menemukan konsep secara mandiri. Salah satu model pembelajaran yang dapat diterapkan sesuai dengan permasalahan yang terjadi adalah model discovery learning. Media video merupakan media pembelajaran yang menyenangkan dan video mampu membantu peserta didik dalam memahami materi pembelajaran serta membantu guru dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan model pembelajaran discovery learning berbantuan media video terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa SMA fase E pada mata pelajaran Biologi. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi experimental (menguji hubungan sebab-akibat antar variabel) dengan desain penelitian posttest-only control grup design. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 kelas (kelas ekperimen 33 peserta didik  dan kelas kontrol 34 peserta didik) yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling (sesuai kriteria tertentu). Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen tes berupa soal pilihan ganda yang mengukur keterampilan berpikir kritis. Berdasarkan hasil uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas menunjukkan data berdistribusi normal dan data homogen, maka dilakukan uji hipotesis dengan menggunakan uji t didapatkanmaka hipotesis ( diterima. Kesimpulannya, bahwa penerapan model DL (Discovery Learning) berbantuan media video berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa SMA Fase E.

Abstract

The low level of biological literacy among students shows the importance of exploring and integrating the dimensions of scientific, cultural and digital understanding in learning. This study aims to analyze the influence of scientific culture understanding on students' biological literacy, by exploring the mediating role of digital mindfulness and local wisdom literacy. The study used a quantitative approach with an explanatory design and Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis. The sample consisted of 495 biology education students from three universities in Makassar, selected using a purposive sampling technique. The research instrument was a four point Likert scale closed questionnaire to measure four main constructs. The results of the analysis showed that scientific culture understanding had a significant effect on biological literacy directly and indirectly through digital mindfulness and local wisdom literacy. The strongest relationship was found between scientific culture understanding and local wisdom literacy, while the contribution of digital mindfulness was weak but significant. The R² value for biological literacy of 0.440 indicated a moderate model contribution. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the importance of integrating cultural, technological, and scientific approaches in biology learning in higher education. This study provides theoretical contributions to the development of local context based scientific literacy as well as practical recommendations for educators and policy makers in designing quality and effective curricula.Abstrak. Rendahnya tingkat literasi biologi di kalangan mahasiswa menunjukkan pentingnya untuk mengeksplorasi dan mengintegrasikan dimensi pemahaman sains, budaya dan digital dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh scientific culture understanding terhadap literasi biologi mahasiswa, dengan mengeksplorasi peran mediasi dari digital mindfulness dan literasi kearifan lokal. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain eksplanatori dan analisis Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Sampel terdiri dari 495 mahasiswa pendidikan biologi dari tiga universitas di Makassar, yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian berupa angket tertutup skala Likert empat poin untuk mengukur empat konstruk utama. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa scientific culture Understanding berpengaruh signifikan terhadap literasi biologi secara langsung, maupun tidak langsung melalui digital mindfulness dan literasi kearifan lokal. Hubungan paling kuat ditemukan antara scientific culture Understanding dan literasi kearifan lokal, sedangkan kontribusi digital mindfulness tergolong lemah namun signifikan. Nilai R² untuk literasi biologi sebesar 0.440 mengindikasikan kontribusi model yang moderat. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya integrasi pendekatan budaya, teknologi, dan ilmiah dalam pembelajaran biologi di pendidikan tinggi. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi teoritis terhadap pengembangan literasi sains berbasis konteks lokal serta rekomendasi praktis bagi pendidik dan pengambil kebijakan dalam merancang kurikulum yang berkualitas dan efektif.

Abstract

Dalam proses pembelajaran biologi pendidik sudah menggunakan media ajar berupa power point (PPT) dan buku cetak. Buku cetak hanya digunakan  di kelas, dimana dalam proses pembelajaran peserta didik hanya menggunakan buku cetak, satu kelompok  hanya dapat 1 buku cetak. Dalam proses pembelajaran pendidik sudah menggunakan beberapa model pembelajaran seperti Problem Based Learning (PBL), untuk meningkatkan proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan lembar kerja peserta didik (LKPD) pada materi bakteri fase E SMA/MA yang valid. Metode penelitian menggunakan model pengembangan 4D (Define, Design, Develop, dan Disseminate), namun dibatasi hingga tahap Develop. Pada define bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan pengembangan yang terdiri dari analisis ujung depan, peserta didik, tugas, konsep dan tujuan pembelajaran. Pada tahap design bertujuan untuk merancang  Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik  (LKPD). Pada tahap develop bertujuan  dilakukan untuk uji validitas dengan pengisian angket oleh 2 orang dosen dan 1 guru biologi. Sedangkan angket praktikalitas diberikan kepada 1 guru biologi dan 31 siswa di SMAN 1 Sutera. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif melalui persentase. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa LKPD yang dikembangkan memiliki tingkat validitas sebesar 91.09% (kategori sangat valid). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa LKPD berbasis problem based learning pada materi bakteri dinilai layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran karena telah memenuhi kriteria valid

Abstract

This study aims to develop a discovery learning-based e-module on the human digestive system for Phase F students of grade XI SMA/MA. The background of this research is the limited availability and quality of teaching materials, as well as the lack of active student involvement in the learning process. In addition, the digestive system material contains abstract concepts that require interactive and innovative learning media to enhance students’ understanding. Therefore, the development of a discovery learning-based e-module is expected to support student-centered learning. This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the 4-D model, which consists of define, design, and develop stages. The study was limited to the development stage. The subjects of this research included three validators, two biology teachers, and 30 students of grade XI at SMA Negeri 1 Painan. The instruments used were validity and practicality questionnaires, and the data were analyzed using percentage techniques.The results showed that the developed e-module achieved a validity level of 87.24% (very valid). The practicality test results showed scores of 89.77% by teachers and 93.01% by students (very practical). Thus, the discovery learning-based e-module is feasible to be used as a teaching material in biology learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi dengan kurangnya keterlibatan siswa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Metode pembelajaran yang digunakan guru berupa metode diskusi dan tanya jawab. Kegiatan diskusi kelompok belum berjalan dengan baik, hal ini karena siswa cenderung bersikap pasif dan tidak terlibat dalam menyelesaikan tugas yang diberikan guru yang berdampak pada rendahnya hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan Group Investigasi berbantuan Digital Mind Map (GI-DMM) terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas XI fase F SMAN 3 Pariaman. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen dengan rancangan penelitian Randomized Control Group Posttest Only Design. Populasi dalam penelitian adalah selurul siswa kelas XI fase F natural sains pada semester genap yang terdaftar pada tahun ajaran 2023/2024 yang terdiri atas 3 kelas. Pengambilan sampel kelas eksperimen kelas F6 dan kelas kontrol kelas F5 menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Intrumen penelitian pada penilaian formatif pada kelas eksperimen penilaian Digital mind map dan kelas kontrol narasi dan penilaian sumatif berupa soal pilihan ganda. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji hipotesis (uji -t). Berdasarkan hasil belajar di ketahui rata rata penilaian formatif pada kelas eksperimen = 85,28 dan kelas kontrol = 80,28. Uji hipotesis menggunakan uji t di peroleh t hitung = 3,42 t tabel = 1,67, maka hipotesis H1 diterima yaitu berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar pada penilaian formatif. Rata rata penilaian sumatif pada kelas eksperimen 73,25 dan kelas kontrol 66,74. Uji hipotesis menggunakan uji t di peroleh t hitung = 2,63 t tabel = 1,67, maka hipotesis H1 di terima yaitu berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar pada penilaian sumatif. Disimpulkan bahwa Model pembelajaran Group Investigasi berbantuan Digital Mind Map (GI-DMM) dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar pada penilaian formatif dan penilaian sumatif siswa SMAN 3 Pariaman.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the influence of the SIRI learning model, namely learning based on integrated problem solving in Indonesian Siri' culture in improving the critical thinking skills of biology students. This experimental research was conducted with a pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design and involved 109 biology students at Universitas Negeri Makassar, Universitas Pendidikan Mandalika, and Universitas PGRI Sumatera Barat, Indonesia. Data was collected using a critical thinking skills essay test. A critical thinking skills rubric was used to assess student answers and the results were analyzed using ANCOVA at a significance level of 0.05. Research findings show that there is an influence of the SIRI learning model on the critical thinking skills of biology students. The LSD test results show that the critical thinking skills of the SIRI class are significantly different from those of the PBL class and conventional class. It was concluded that the SIRI learning model could improve biology students' critical thinking skills.
