The five steps of the ADDIE model—analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation—are used in research and development as part of the research design. It used Ellis's (2017) Task Based Approach as a model to create the module. This research uses instruments such as observation, a questionnaire and interview for need analysis, expert validation, and a questionnaire for student and teacher perception. That designed module was tested on ten students of SMP Negeri 1 Bone-Bone. Therefore, the students' perception results obtained an average score of 3.64 which shows that the English module design is suitable for SMP Negeri 1 Bone-Bone. These results are supported by the results of the student questionnaire at SMP Negeri 1 Bone-Bone which are summarized as follows: the module consists of three themes, covering student needs, attractive design and layout, various integrated activities and skills, and providing guidelines for use. Abstract

This study aims to contribute theoretically to the development of educational science and provide practical insights for Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Towuti and similar institutions in evaluating teacher performance to enhance educational quality. The research employs an evaluative approach using the discrepancy model, conducted through qualitative methods, including observation, interviews, and document analysis, focusing on the performance evaluation of Arabic language teachers at MTsN Towuti. The findings reveal that Arabic teachers excel in lesson planning, as evidenced by the comprehensive administrative preparations at the start of the academic year. However, while overall performance was good during the implementation phase, challenges such as ineffective classroom management, monotonous teaching methods, and insufficient encouragement for creative thinking were noted. In the assessment phase, teachers demonstrated strong performance in designing assessment tools, applying diverse strategies to monitor student progress, and providing constructive feedback, aligning with school and national standards. The evaluation concludes that the teachers' performance in planning, implementation, and assessment is generally good, adhering to established standards. The study recommends that these strengths be maintained and further enhanced. The implications suggest that stakeholders should pay greater attention to teacher qualifications, advocating for more extensive training and certification programs. Practically, the findings serve as constructive feedback for Arabic language teachers to improve their performance further.

Abstract

This study evaluates the implementation and outcomes of religious moderation education in three madrasahs—MIS Bokin, MIS Rantepao, and MTs Rantepao—located in North Toraja Regency. Employing the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model and a qualitative approach, the research explores how religious moderation principles are integrated into Islamic Religious Education (PAI) lessons and extracurricular activities. Data were gathered through observations, interviews, and document analysis, involving principals, teachers, and students as key informants. The findings indicate that religious moderation education is embedded effectively into both curricular and extracurricular activities. Through PAI lessons, teachers integrate values such as tolerance, harmony, and critical thinking using innovative methods like Active Debate and Everyone Is a Teacher Here. These approaches enable students to internalize moderation values naturally. Extracurricular activities, such as interfaith collaborations during religious holidays, provide practical applications of these principles, fostering mutual respect and inclusivity among students. The outcomes reveal enhanced national commitment, tolerance, and critical thinking skills among students. The programs address contemporary challenges, such as the spread of radical ideologies, by creating a positive and inclusive school environment. A systematic implementation process, supported by continuous evaluation, ensures the programs’ effectiveness and adaptability to the needs of students. This study concludes that religious moderation education at these madrasahs serves as an exemplary model for fostering harmony and coexistence in diverse educational contexts. Recommendations include consistent program evaluation, leveraging technology for broader outreach, and expanding these practices to other educational institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the design and assess the level of practicality of using a teacher performance assessment application in madrasas as a digital solution that can improve efficiency, objectivity, and transparency in the academic supervision process. The approach used in this study is a quantitative descriptive method with an evaluative component, where data are collected through observation, documentation, and the distribution of questionnaires. The application consists of four integrated dashboards, specifically designed for principals, assessors, teachers, and students. Each dashboard is designed according to the function of its users, such as setting supervision schedules, filling out digital assessment sheets, uploading documents, and evaluating the learning process by students. The results of the practicality test showed a level of practicality of 95% for principals, 98% for assessors, 98% for teachers, and 97% for students, all of which are in the “very practical” category. These findings indicate that this application is practical and easy to implement in the madrasah school environment. This study provides implications that the use of teacher performance assessment applications can improve efficiency and transparency in the academic supervision process in madrasas. In addition, this application also encourages fairness and equality in teacher performance evaluation, which can ultimately contribute to improving the quality of education in madrasas.

Abstract

Integrating local culture into language material leads to improving the students’ reading skills. Conducted in South Sulawesi's Luwu Regency, the research employs the ADDIE model for development and assessment. Participants included five English teachers and 25 eighth-grade students from (Junior High School) SMP Negeri 4 Belopa. During the analysis phase, teacher interviews and student questionnaires revealed a strong demand for culturally relevant materials, with 92% of students and 100% of teachers expressing a need for Luwu-based content. Subsequently, the design phase involved selecting texts reflective of local culture, guided by the needs analysis. The development phase produced an initial draft of a reading book comprising four chapters: "Heroes of Luwu," "Folklores of Luwu," "Enchantment of Luwu Tourism Objects," and "Traditional Foods of Luwu." Expert evaluations rated the content and language quality as 'good' with an average score of 83.75. Based on expert feedback, the draft underwent revisions. In the implementation phase, the revised reading materials were introduced in English classes at SMP Negeri 4 Belopa. Teachers rated the materials' effectiveness with an average score of 3.64 (agree), while student feedback was highly positive at 3.96 (strongly agree) on a 4-point scale, indicating the materials' practicality in an educational setting. The final evaluation phase involved refining the book based on teacher and student feedback, culminating in the dissemination of the final draft to several junior high schools within Luwu Regency. This study underscores the positive impact of culturally tailored educational materials on student engagement and skill development in language learning.
