Abstract

This study aims to describe the condition of Luwu language shift among children in Palopo city. Furthermore, it was seen whether the attitude factor and the role of parents affect the use of Luwunese. To answer these issues, the researchers involved the societies of Palopo who live in the districts of Wara, East Wara, Bara, and Tellu Wanua as the population of this study. Then, this study involved 120 samples consisting of; 1) 60 children around 6 – 12 year old (primary school age) in which 10 children were chosen from each district; and 2) 60 older people (30-50 years old, married). Data collecting techniques were in forms of observation, questionnaires and interviews through note taking and recording as the research instruments. The findings showed that the language shift occurred among children in Palopo city based on the data percentage analysis obtained from the questionnaires. The use of Luwunese by parents was the roles of parents in providing significant influences on the language shift occurring in children shown by the percentage calculation where almost the respondents showed a lack of Luwunese use by children and parents in their family interactions. The parents’ positive attitude towards the use of Luwunese indicated by the questionnaire percentage had no impact on Luwunese preservation; whereas, the Luwunese shift occurred in Palopo city.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to find out and understand self-confidence with social anxiety before free prisoners at Muaro Padang IIA Class Correctional Institution. Variable Dependent in this study is self-confidence and the independent variable is social anxiety. This research is a population research.The sample in this study is prisoners who are free under the guidance of Muaro Padang Class IIA Correctional Institution, which amounts to 72 people. The research method used is quantitative research methods. Measuring instruments used are the self-confidence scale and social anxiety scale, then the data are analyzed using Pearsoncorrelation techniques Product Momentand interpreted based on theories related to the research variables. The results of this study are based on aspects - Aspects of Self Confidence according to Ghufron and Risnawita (2014) and aspects of Social Anxiety according to La Greca and Lopez (1998). Test of validity and reliability usingtechnique Cronbach's Alpha. The results of the validity coefficient on the self-confidence scale ranged from 0.300 to 0.643, while the reliability coefficient was 0.899. The results of the validity coefficient on the social anxiety scale ranged from 0.348 to 0.843, while the reliability coefficient was 0.916. The results of data analysis showed the magnitude of the correlation coefficient of -0.627 with a significant level of p = 0.000 (p <0.01) with an effective contribution of 39% and the remaining 61% was influenced by other factors. This means that there is a negative relationship between confidence in prisoners' social anxiety before being free under the guidance of Muaro Padang Class IIA Correctional Institution.   Keywords: Self Confidence, Social Anxiety, Prisoners

Abstract

Baja ASSAB Vanadis HQ 705 merupakan baja yang dipakai dalam aplikasi otomotif sehingga dalam penggunaanya memerluakan kriteria kekerasan dan ketangguhan tertentu. Pada penelitian ini pengelasan SMAW dilakukan pada masing-masing tiga sampel dengan jenis kampuh las yang berbeda yaitu square grove, single v-grove dan double v-grove, kemudian dilakukan pengujian kekerasan dan impact untuk mengetahui ketangguhan material tersebut. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan ada korelasi antara harga kekerasan dengan kemampuan menahan beban impact, dimana semakin tinggi nilai kekerasan maka semakin tinggi juga kemampuan menahan beban impact dari material tersebut. Kekerasan dan kekuatan impact yang paling tinggi diperoleh pada sambungan las double v-grove dan yang terendah pada sambungan square grove.

Abstract

Wuat wa’i merupakan suatu tradisi warisan nenek moyang orang Manggarai Tradisi ini diwariskan secara turun temurun yang harus dijaga dan dilestarikan dengan baik. Sebagai sebuah warisan Wuat wa’I memiliki nilai-nilai yang baik yang terkandung di dalamnya. Selain sebagai sumber nilai-nilai dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat, tradisi waut wa’i merupakan salah satu warisan budaya dari para leluhur. Tradisi Wuat Wa’i merupakan kebiasaan yang terus dipakai sejak nenek moyang Manggarai ada hingga generasi sekarang. Dalam penelitian ini, ada dua hal yang akan diteliti  yaitu (1) tentang nilai-nilai apa saja yang terkandung pada mantra waut wa’i sebagai tradisi masyarakat di Desa Suka Kiong Kabupaten Mangarai Barat Flores NTT (2) Fungsi apa saja yang terkandung dalam mantra wuat wa’i sebagai tradisi masyarakat di Desa Suka Kiong Kabupaten Manggarai Barat Flores NTT. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian jenis  kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif. Penelitian  ini  mendekripsikan  tentang nilai-nilai dan fungsi yang terkandung dalam mantra wuat wa’i di desa Suka Kiong. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah berupa nilai kepribadian, nilai sosial, nilai budaya dan fungsi yang terkandung di dalam mantra wuat wa’i system proyeksi, sebagai pengesah kebudayaan, sebagai pendidikan, sebagai alat pemaksa berlakunya norma.

Abstract

One of the problems with agriculture in urban areas is that food access is difficult, while soil conditions for agricultural land are limited and less productive. Currently, the whole world is faced with the Covid-19 pandemic, including in urban areas, so that easy access to food and the availability of safe, cheap, healthy, and nutritious food are essential. Urban farming through hydroponic technology is one of the efforts to procure household food independently. It is expected to support the economy of independent communities—this study aims to analyze the levels of public perception of the application of hydroponic technology. The research was conducted in Tarakan City from April to June 2021. Determining respondents was carried out intentionally, considering that the community had obtained information about hydroponic technology. Data analysis that has been used in answering the research objectives is descriptive qualitative data analysis using a Likert scale to measure the level of public perception of hydroponic technology. The story of perception is determined based on respondents' answers about their knowledge of several perceptions about hydroponic technology. The characteristics of the research respondents consisted of an average age of 30 years, the formal education of the respondents graduated from high school, the average number of family members was four people with the main occupation being non-farmers. The results showed that the public had a heightened perception of the application of hydroponic technology (81.11 percent). The highest perception value is found in the perception that plants grown hydroponically are healthier, the quality of the results is maintained, maintenance is easy and more practical. It has a high selling price compared to those grown conventionally.

Abstract

This study aims to understand learning management at Islamic Boarding School Nur El Haq Komba, especially in the Arabic and English learning management from planning, implementing, to evaluating learning. Another goal is to understand the obstacles encountered in the learning process at the Islamic Boarding School and how to solve the obstacles. Based on the type of data, this research is qualitative type. Data collection techniques used are documentation, observation and interviews. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The data sources used are primary data and secondary data. The results of the study show that learning management at the Nur El Haq Komba Islamic Boarding School in general has adopted a khalaf (modern) learning system. In learning foreign language, the manager gives the same portion to the use of Arabic and English, but in the portion of the learning hours, learning Arabic is more than learning English. The learning obstacles that usually occur include the tight schedule of learning while in the dormitory, the infrastructure that still needs to be improved, and the mastery of the teachers in teaching still needs to be developed. Abstract

Indonesia's rich multicultural diversity often presents challenges such as prejudice and violence, emphasizing the need for effective multicultural education to foster unity among teenagers. This study uniquely addresses this gap by developing multicultural-based English teaching materials aimed at enhancing students' vocabulary, cultural understanding, and speaking skills. Conducted at SMAN 9 Luwu with 30 eleventh-grade students and experienced teachers, the research employed the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The analysis phase highlighted a significant need for multicultural education materials, specifically to improve speaking skills. During the design and development phases, the materials were carefully crafted to incorporate multicultural themes and improve language proficiency. In the implementation phase, the materials were tested in a classroom setting, and data were collected through observations, questionnaires, and assessments. The results demonstrated substantial improvements in students' speaking abilities, with expert evaluations confirming the effectiveness and cultural relevance of the materials. The evaluation phase provided both formative and summative assessments, revealing that students not only enhanced their language skills but also developed a greater appreciation for cultural diversity. This research highlights the importance of integrating multicultural perspectives into educational resources, enhancing language proficiency and cultural competence. The findings support broader adoption of multicultural education strategies to promote equity and excellence.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to (1) describe the characteristics of an ideal teacher based on the results of a literature review, and (2) create a competency map and indicators for an ideal teacher. Data of this study were obtained from various primary sources including literature reviews, documents and results of interviews with 10 experienced teachers. The data were analyzed qualitatively by using thematic analysis. This study shows that there are at least seven main competencies that should be possessed by a teacher which include (1) Intellectual competence (2) Pedagogical competence (3) Professional Competence (4) Intrapersonnel competence. (5) Interpersonal Competence (6) Leadership Competence and (7) Spritual Competence. This study also proposed 66 (sixty six) indicators as the characteristics of the seven competencies of ideal teacher.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan karakteristik guru ideal berdasarkan hasil kajian pustaka, dan (2) membuat peta kompetensi dan indikator guru ideal. Data dari penelitian ini diperoleh dari berbagai sumber primer antara lain kajian pustaka, dokumen dan hasil wawancara dengan 10 orang guru berpengalaman. Data dianalisis secara kualitatif dengan menggunakan analisis tematik. Kajian ini menunjukkan bahwa setidaknya ada tujuh kompetensi utama yang harus dimiliki oleh seorang guru yang meliputi (1) Kompetensi Intelektual (2) Kompetensi Pedagogik (3) Kompetensi Profesional (4) Kompetensi Intrapersonal. (5) Kompetensi Interpersonal (6) Kompetensi Kepemimpinan dan (7) Kompetensi Spiritual. Penelitian ini juga mengusulkan 66 (enam puluh enam) indikator sebagai ciri dari tujuh kompetensi guru ideal.

Abstract

This research aims to develop an interior design plan for the computer laboratory at SMKN 1 North Luwu. The research methodology employed in this study is research and development (R&D). The research process consists of several steps, including analyzing potential issues and challenges, accomplished through an extensive review of existing literature and on-site field studies. Data is collected through methods, including observations, interviews, and documentation. The content of the design development encompasses several crucial aspects. First, it involves the creation of a design concept for the laboratory, which is then translated into detailed 2D working drawings and 3D perspective drawings. These design proposals are rigorously assessed and validated by experts and practitioners. The outcomes of this research effort include a comprehensive interior design plan tailored specifically for the computer laboratory at SMKN 1 North Luwu. This design plan is presented through detailed 2D drawings and 3D modeling using V-ray SketchUp 2020. The validation process of the design resulted in a score of 141 with a percentage of 97.9%, indicating that the product design is highly suitable as an exemplary model for managing the computer laboratory at SMKN 1 North Luwu, with a classification of "excellent."
