Abstract

This paper aims to explain the inter relationship between urbanization and slum and squatter settlement phenomena in urban areas, focusing on two cases in Jakarta and Yogyakarta. Marginality theory and dependence theory are to explain the two phenomena above, because these theories have different assumption and different explanations about slum areas. Thus, the solutions offered are different too. The result of Tadjuddin and Taylor research into the slum and squatter settlement in Yogyakarta and Jakarta suggest that the phenomena of the slum settlement in this cities could not be explained by a single theory, either marginality theory or dependence theory.

Abstract

Nowadays, Urban Heat Island (UHI) occurs in big cities worldwide. The UHI phenomenon needs to be introduced in school because this phenomenon occurs around the students. Surakarta, one of the big cities in Indonesia, has been threatened by the UHI phenomenon, so enrichment materials related to the UHI phenomenon are needed for students in schools. This research will develop the UHI e-module as an enrichment teaching material on the impact of global climate change and research on climate and its utilization. This paper aims to present an e-module development research methodology on UHI based on the phenomenon of UHI threats in Surakarta City and its effect on student achievement and collaboration skills. Design and Development Research (DDR) uses the Borg and Gall model. The methodology of the research development is divided into three phases: the needs analysis phase, the design and development phase, and the implementation and evaluation phases. The difference in this research is the geographical space-based study approach in the development of material based on the UHI phenomenon in Surakarta City and urban and rural spatial sampling techniques.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah melakukan kajian tujuan, langkah, dan turunan kemampuan yang diperlukan dalam pembelajaran kebencanaan untuk tingkat Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) di Kabupaten Klaten. Kajian instruksional menggunakan systematic instructional design (ISD) dengan model Dick & Carey. Panduan Pembelajaran Kebencanaan di Kabupaten Klaten yang telah ditetapkan penggunaannya melalui Peraturan Bupati Klaten Nomor 6 Tahun 2014 adalah dokumen utama yang dikaji. Kajian menggunakan tiga alat analisa, yaitu analisa ujung depan (front-end analysis), analisa tujuan (goal analysis), dan analisa ketrampilan subordinat (subordinat skill analysis). Data diperoleh melalui kajian pustaka dan focused group discussion (FGD) para ahli bidang (subject matter experts/SME) pembelajaran dan kebencanaan di Kabupaten Klaten. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tujuan pembelajaran kebencanaan merupakan mandat kebijakan pemerintah. Tujuan pembelajaran kebencanaan mengacu tiga kemampuan, yaitu siswa mampu melakukan kajian risiko bencana, upaya mitigasi bencana, dan kesiapsiagaan bencana di lingkungan sekolah dan tempat tinggalnya. Hasil kajian dijabarkan dalam diagram kajian instruksional pembelajaran kebencanaan dengan hirarki dan prosedur pembelajaran. Turunan kemampuan meliputi 1) informasi verbal terkait istilah, lokasi, dan pengetahuan dasar kebencanaan, 2) keterampilan intelektual dalam menerapkan prosedur manajemen bencana, 3) strategi kognitif dalam merumuskan dan menyajikan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan manajemen bencana, 4) ketrampilan motorik dan 5) sikap dalam pengurangan risiko bencana.

Abstract

Since the nineteenth century, scientists have studied the Urban Heat Island (UHI). The negative effects of UHI could be mitigated with the help of interdisciplinary studies, but none have been performed so far. UHI research in schools has some holes that could seriously hinder students' grasp of climate change. The purpose of this research is to ascertain whether or not the Urban Heat Island module is necessary for enhancing students' understanding of climate change in the classroom. The Greater Solo Area Region's 72 geographic teachers were chosen at random for this study. Preliminary data on teachers' familiarity with UHI in the Greater Solo Area shows that, on average, they know very little about UHI. About 47 percent of the teachers surveyed had no understanding at all of UHI, while the remaining 25 percent had a moderate amount of knowledge, seven percent had high understanding, and three percent had very high understanding. Results from a test given to educators in both the suburbs and the city corroborated these observations. All teachers agreed that the UHI enrichment module created using a contextual approach was necessary as a supplementary medium for climate change material, as indicated by the results of the teacher needs assessment tests.

Abstract

One of the national heroes who fought for education in Indonesia was Ki Hajar Dewantara. The various thoughts that Ki Hajar Dewantara contributed brought progress to education in Indonesia. The five basics of education, according to Ki Hajar Dewantara, encompass guiding, the nature of nature, the nature of the times, manners, and the among system. Many previous studies have discussed the “among system.” Therefore, in this study, the researchers aim to outline Ki Hajar Dewantara's "guiding" basics of education at elementary school. The method used in this research was qualitative with a case study approach. Data collection was carried out by observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques employed the Milles and Huberman model, including data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The research findings demonstrated that Ki Hajar Dewantara’s educational concept of "guiding" at Muhammadiyah Alam Surya Mentari Elementary School could be seen from (a) the learning objectives, namely guiding the nature of students to become human beings with character by teaching honesty, good manners, and leadership; (b) the learning process, which guides each student to learn optimally according to each student's readiness, learning profile, and diverse interests by using various methods, media, and scaffolding in learning; and (c) habituation activities before learning, such as reading Qur’an, stretching, praying Dhuha in the congregation, and praying together.

Abstract

An earthquake is a type of natural disaster which occurs due to the movement of tectonic plates. The time and location of an earthquake cannot be predicted, so people living in earthquake-prone areas should have good knowledge of earthquake disasters as capital in anticipating earthquake disasters. Various efforts need to be made to increase knowledge about earthquake disasters, one of which is through education. In the education sector, efforts to increase knowledge about earthquake disasters can be done through the integration of game-based learning in schools. One of the schools that is vulnerable to earthquakes is SMP Negeri 1 Polanharjo, Klaten Regency. This school is one of the schools that was affected by the earthquake disaster in Klaten Regency in 2006. The aim of this activity is to (1) increase knowledge about earthquake disasters through the implementation of game-based learning media (disaster SOS and puzzles) for social studies teachers and students at SMP Negeri 1 Polanharjo and (2) increase the capacity of teachers and students in dealing with earthquake disasters. The targets of this activity are social studies teachers and OSIS administrators at SMP Negeri 1 Polanharjo. The implementation method is through socialization and practice in using game-based learning media, namely disaster SOS and puzzles. The results of the activity showed that (1) the implementation of game-based learning media (disaster SOS and puzzles) can increase the motivation of teachers and students in studying earthquake disasters and (2) this media can increase the capacity of teachers and students regarding earthquake disasters.

Abstract

Adopsi teknologi dalam pembelajaran menjadi suatu keharusan bagi guru, tidak terkecuali guru geografi. Adopsi teknologi dapat berupa pemanfaatan sumber belajar digital dalam pembelajaran geografi. Pemanfaatan sumber belajar digital oleh guru geografi sudah dilakukan oleh beberapa peneliti dan hasilnya tidak begitu menggembirakan Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat adopsi teknologi dalam pembelajaran SIG oleh guru geografi di Kabupaten Sukoharjo. Kabupaten Sukoharjo dipilih karena wilayah ini berbatasan langsung dengan wilayah urban Surakarta dengan fasilitas pendukung digital yang baik. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh guru geografi di Kabupaten Sukoharjo yang berjumlah 33 guru. Seluruh populasi dijadikan sebagai sampel. Pengukuran tingkat adopsi teknologi informasi oleh guru geografi di Kabupaten Sukoharjo dilakukan dengan menggunakan model The unified  theory of acceptance and use of  technology  (UTAUT). Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data menggunakan statistic deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sumber belajar digital yang paling banyak digunakan oleh guru geografi dalam pembelajaran SIG adalah YouTube, disusul dengan sumber peta dan Google Earth. Tingkat adopsi teknologi pada pembelajaran SIG oleh guru geografi di Kabupaten Sukoharjo termasuk dalam kategori sedang dengan skor rata-rata 64,5. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa perlu adanya pelatihan mengenai pemanfaatan teknologi dan sumber belajar digital untuk pembelajaran SIG bagi guru geografi di Kabupaten Sukoharjo.

Abstract

Penelitian yang dilaksanakan oleh Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto mengeksplorasi efektivitas integrasi nilai-nilai karakter Mohammad Hatta dalam program pendidikan antikorupsi. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi pengaruh nilai-nilai integritas, kejujuran, dan tanggung jawab terhadap etos antikorupsi di kalangan mahasiswa. Melalui metode kualitatif yang mencakup wawancara, observasi, dan analisis dokumen kurikulum, penelitian ini mengungkapkan hasil positif dari integrasi nilai-nilai tersebut, meskipun ada beberapa hambatan dalam implementasinya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai-nilai ini telah berhasil diinternalisasi dalam kurikulum dan praktik pembelajaran, dengan dosen dan mahasiswa sama-sama mengakui manfaatnya. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pengembangan materi dan metode pembelajaran yang lebih adaptif dan relevan dengan tantangan kontemporer. Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto telah mengambil inisiatif untuk mengadopsi pendekatan pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif melalui studi kasus, role-playing, dan simulasi, serta integrasi teknologi untuk menanamkan nilai-nilai antikorupsi. Implementasi temuan ini diharapkan tidak hanya memperkuat dasar etika mahasiswa tetapi juga membekali mereka dengan keterampilan praktis untuk menjadi agen perubahan sosial yang positif dan bertanggung jawab.

Abstract

The implementation of the independent curriculum at the elementary school level through the implementation of the project of strengthening the profile of Pancasila students (P-5) requires schools to apply character values as they should. However, elementary schools do not yet fully understand the concept of character values conveyed by Muslim figures and their implementation in schools. This research aims to describe character education according to Al-Ghazali and the implementation of character education in schools. This research method is done qualitatively by means of literature study and descriptive study through learning observation at school and interviews with teachers. The collected data was then analyzed qualitatively with the stages of reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. The results show that the character education carried out at Semai Elementary School is in accordance with the moral values conveyed by Al-Ghazali in the aspects of moral education, methods of moral formation, and character values that emerge such as having faith and good character, independence, critical reasoning, creative, mutual cooperation and global diversity.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kemampuan belajar metacognisi terhadap hasil belajar geografi, menganalisis pengaruh self-esteem terhadap hasil belajar geografi, dan menganalisis pengaruh kemampuan belajar metacognisi dan self-esteem terhadap hasil belajar geografi siswa di SMA Negeri 2 Sukoharjo. Pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan kuesioner untuk mengukur kemampuan belajar metacognisi dan self-esteem, sedangkan variabel hasil belajar geografi diperoleh dari nilai raport mata pelajaran geografi selanjutnya dianalisis dengan teknik statistik yaitu uji hipotesis berupa uji korelasi product moment tunggal dan berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh signifikan antara kemampuan belajar metacognisi terhadap hasil belajar geografi, terdapat pengaruh signifikan antara self-esteem terhadap hasil belajar geografi, dan terdapat pengaruh signifikan antara kemampuan belajar metacognisi dan self-esteem terhadap hasil belajar geografi siswa dengan nilai sig. 0,036 < 0,05. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan belajar metacognisi dan self-esteem berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar geografi siswa.
