Abstract

CV VLJ is a distributor of mineral water and bottled water in Cilegon area, Indonesia selling various water brands and is supplied by four suppliers. CV VLJ often runs out of goods in the warehouse when consumers want to buy the goods they are looking for. As a result, consumers are disappointed and buy it at other distributors. This leads to lost sales. Therefore, this study aims to reduce the loss of sales and minimize the total inventory cost at each supplier. The determination of the order quantity and period is calculated using the EOQ, POQ, EOQ multi-item and multi-item EOI methods. The inventory total cost and lost sales can be calculated through the inventory table simulation. Based on the simulation results, sales losses can decrease by 88-99% for all four suppliers and total costs decrease by an average of around 33% compared to actual conditions.

Abstract

The LPG gas base carries gas to homes and shops using a two-wheeled motorcycle fitted with an iron basket to have gas. A design needs to be designed to make it easier to transport gas. This study aims to determine the weight of criteria that are important for consideration of design design for a gas conveyor. Quality Function Deployment (QFD) is a structured methodology used in product planning and development to obtain consumer needs and wishes specifications. Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) is a method for making alternative decisions based on specific criteria. The result of this study is the weighting of measures necessary for consideration of design for a gas conveyor of the most crucial sequence, namely: type of material used, weight, strength, size and dimensions, flexibility, maximum capacity, durability, comfort, attractive graphic design, efficiency (gallons, gas 3kg, 5.5kg, 12kg), and thickness

Abstract

Logistics service providers are the key stakeholder in Indonesian logistics activities that are growing significantly and face many challenges. In this research, a case study on a logistics service provider located in the city of Yogyakarta Indonesia is evaluated. The provider is currently experiencing rapid growth indicated by increasing delivery volume and scopes. However, optimal resource management has not been able to be adequately calculated, such as inefficient courier assignment and overloaded couriers' volume. Thus, this study aims to minimize total distances through optimal zone groups under several restrictions. An optimization approach is selected in this research by initially building a mathematical model using a standard form of linear programming. Then, the mathematical model is solved to generate minimum distances. The result indicated that the total minimum distances had been reached with considerable changes in delivery zone grouping, and the couriers' capacity was optimally utilized without overloaded capacity. These zone groups can be used as a reference for further research by taking into account some restrictions such as packages fluctuations as well as adding objective to minimize couriers' traveling time.

Abstract

Article history : The rapid growth of the tourism industry, especially in Indonesia, has positively impacted various other sectors. This growth has indirectly spurred the development of supporting businesses, predominantly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), such as tourist transportation rentals. Rising tourist demands for transportation necessitate that entrepreneurs in this industry adapt quickly, including investing in the latest vehicle units. However, investing in new vehicles is challenging, especially for small-scale rental owners. They must carefully calculate their investment, considering various potential risks. Therefore, this study recommends alternatives for new vehicle investments in tourist transportation rentals based on BWM and SAW. A case study on small-scale rental businesses in Yogyakarta has been selected. The results indicate that five criteria must be considered for new vehicle investments in tourist rentals: vehicle type (C1), fuel consumption (C2), engine specifications (C3), rental price (C4), product lifetime (C5), and price (C6). The optimal weights of these criteria are determined using BWM to rank five investment alternatives: KIZ, HIC, AVZ, BRI, and SGR. The findings suggest KIZ as the potential top investment priority, followed by AVZ, BRI, SGR, and HIC.

Abstract

The construction industry, particularly road construction, supports economic growth and enhances community mobility. One of the primary challenges is ensuring that the quality of hot mix asphalt (HMA), a critical component in road construction, aligns with customer needs and expectations. This study aims to evaluate customer satisfaction with HMA products produced by PT. SKS in Yogyakarta. The Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) approach was employed to identify gaps between the product's actual performance and the importance level expected by customers. Data were collected from 25 respondents using a Likert-scale questionnaire covering 20 service attributes, including guest facilities, product services, and quality control. The data were analyzed using a Cartesian diagram to map attributes into four priority quadrants. The findings revealed that the average performance score (3.93) was slightly lower than the average importance score (4.13), indicating gaps in several attributes. Attributes such as the availability of project safety shoes (Q8) and accessibility (Q9) fell into Quadrant A, requiring immediate improvement. Meanwhile, attributes like product quality (Q14) and delivery reliability (Q12) in Quadrant B must be maintained. This study concludes that enhancing the priority attributes in Quadrant A can significantly improve customer satisfaction. The findings provide strategic recommendations for the company to enhance efficiency, improve product quality, and meet customer expectations.
