Abstract

Background: Neonatal placement increases the need of perinatology room. The mortality rate of neonates in the perinatology room reached a progressive rate in Indonesia in 2021. Some severe conditions in neonates placed in the perinatology room included asphyxia, low birth weight, sepsis, and infection. The importance of segregating the neonatal ward in perinatology as a special treatment room for emergency conditions is to achieve optimal health and to reduce the mortality in neonates. Objective: The study aimed to determine the factors associated with the neonatal ward at Prof. Hospital Dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto. Methode: This was an analytical observational study with a cross-sectional design. The study was carried out from March 24th-April 24th, 2022. The population in this study was 100 respondents. There were two groups of 50 respondents selected from the non-perinatology room and the perinatology room using a consecutive sampling technique. Result: The result showed that four significant factors were found that were associated with neonatal ward placement in perinatology based on the Bivariate analysis and Chi-Square test with 95% CI and a p-value of 0.05. They include birth weight (0.014), APGAR score (0.001), gestational period (0.003), and type of delivery (0.009). Then, the results of a multivariate analysis of the four factors indicated that the type of delivery was the most dominant (B=1.371). Conclusion: In this study, the variable of the type of delivery done by cesarean section was the most dominant factor in the placement of the neonatal ward in perinatology.

The phantom innovation of antenatal care is a visual aid that resembles the body shape of pregnant women used for Leopold examinations. Method: The research method used Quasi Experiment using a posttest-only control group design approach. The population in this study were students of nursing assistants in XI and XII Grades at SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Purwokerto. The sample in this study amounted to 52 people. The sampling technique used was the total sampling technique. The data analysis used was univariate and bivariate analysis with the Mann-Whitney test. Results: The results showed that there is an influence of the Phantom ANC UMP innovation on the respondents Leopold examination knowledge and skills obtained from statistical test result the asymp sig value. (2-tailed) knowledge 0.00 and asymp value sig. (2-tailed) skill 0.01 which means the p value <0.05. Conclusion: The student's knowledge and skills regarding Leopold's examination were higher in the group using Phantom ANC UMP media than in the group using powerpoint media.

Abstract

Background: Menstrual pain or dysmenorrhea often disrupts women's physical comfort. Interventions are needed to alleviate dysmenorrhea by designing special underwear for menstrual pain relief, aiming to reduce menstrual pain and enhance the comfort of menstruating women. Method: This research employed the Research and Development (RD) methodology, comprising ten stages: Stage I (problem potential), Stage II (data collection), Stage III (product design), Stage IV (design validation), Stage V (product revision), Stage VI (product trial), Stage VII (product revision), Stage VIII (wearability trial), Stage IX (product revision), and Stage X (mass production). Due to time constraints, the researcher has condensed the stages into 6 steps. Respective experts conducted product trials. Wearability trials involved sixth-semester nursing students at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto. Results: : The clothing expert scored 47 and 46 in the expert development test, signifying "very feasible." The maternal health expert scored 43, indicating "very feasible," and the medical physicist expert scored 45, indicating "very feasible." Conclusion: CEDARRIS is suitable for the comfort of menstruating women.

Abstract

Adolescence is a developmental stage where an individual progresses from the onset of secondary sexual characteristics to sexual maturity. During puberty, noticeable changes included rapid body growth, the appearance of secondary sexual characteristics, emotional fluctuations, and, most significantly for adolescent girls, the onset of menstruation. A lack of support from close family members in managing self-care during menstruation is a reproductive health issue that can lead to health disturbances. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between family support and self-efficacy towards menstrual hygiene management in female adolescents in grade XI of SMA N 1 Sidareja. This quantitative study was a cross-sectional correlational design. The study was conducted at SMA N 1 Sidareja from October 2023 to July 2024. The sample consisted of 105 eleventh-grade female students, selected using cluster random sampling followed by systematic random sampling. The research instruments included questionnaires assessing family support and self-efficacy in menstrual hygiene management Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test. The Chi-Square test results indicated a significant correlation between family support and self-efficacy in menstrual hygiene management among adolescent girls at SMA N 1 Sida`reja (p-value = 0.005). This shows that there is a significant relationship between family support and self-efficacy towards menstrual hygiene management with a correlation that has a positive direction, meaning that the better the family support, the higher the self-efficacy towards menstrual hygiene management. It can be concluded that there is a significant correlation between family support and self-efficacy in menstrual hygiene management among eleventh-grade girls at SMA N 1 Sidareja.
