Abstract

This study aims to develop media in the form of interactive PowerPoint with 2D animation. The purpose of developing this media is to improve students' critical thinking skills. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) study. The development model used is Four-D (4D) by Thiagarajan, et al (1974: 5) which has four (4) stages, namely Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate. The type of data used is qualitative and quantitative data. Data collection was carried out using the interview method and providing questionnaires in the form of expert test questionnaires (media expert test, material expert test) and product trials in order to produce a good product. The resulting media consists of 9 learning materials that contain vocabulary introduction, questions, conversations, and exercises. Based on the results of the questionnaire, the score obtained from the media expert test was 98.52 (very appropriate), from material experts, namely 91.66 (very appropriate). Then the score obtained from the results of the trial questionnaire with the teacher was 98.43 (very appropriate), as well as the limited trial with ten (10) class XI students majoring in nursing, namely 96% (very feasible). Thus, the developed interactive power point media equipped with 2D animation can be used as a support for learning Japanese, can attract students' interest in learning Japanese, and can improve students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to develop Animaker-based Video Animation learning media. The development of this learning media uses the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) developed by Luther which consists of several stages, namely the Concept, Design, Material Collecting, Assembly, Testing and Distribution stages. Data collection was carried out through interviews and questionnaires in the form of expert test assessment questionnaires (media expert tests and material expert tests) and limited trials. In this research, used qualitative and quantitative data. Animated videos developed 9 themes that have been adapted to the needs of teachers by presenting vocabulary introductions, short conversations and practice questions that are able to guide students' abilities in critical thinking. The results obtained from the media expert test were 100 (very appropriate), from the material expert test, namely 84.09 (very appropriate). Then, the results obtained from the teacher's trial were 100 (very appropriate) and the limited trial from students was 96.66% (very feasible). Thus it can be concluded that the developed learning media can be used in Japanese language learning for Hospitality majors.

Abstract

Abstract. Learning strategies in the Japanese language for young learners tend to be applied to children in Japanese mixed-married families or foreign children in Japan. However, this study tried to apply a learning strategy for a young learner who does not have a background in the Japanese environment or experience with Japanese people and culture. This study aims to describe a learning strategy by applying mnemonics to young learners in Japanese language acquisition, particularly in the Japanese character Hiragana. This research used qualitative descriptive design, with research instruments that include researchers, observation forms, and literature sources. The data collected in this study were analyzed using an interpretive approach. This study used a mnemonics-based digital tool application was used to assist the young learner in learning the Japanese character, Hiragana. This study shows that mnemonics can improve young learners' Hiragana acquisition. Learning strategy by applying mnemonics helps the young learner memorize each character and improves associative skills and Japanese vocabulary as a language acquisition process. Some characters are similar and confusing for beginners, and some Japanese characters do not exist in Indonesian, which makes it difficult for learners to pronounce them. The application greatly helps the subject memorize each character and improves associative skills and Japanese vocabulary as a language acquisition process. Through continuous reading practice, the subject can distinguish almost similar characters and help pronounce vocabulary. This application is very effective for parents who want to introduce Hiragana characters to young learners, with intensive reading practice and creating an environment that uses Hiragana. Keywords: learning strategy, mnemonics, Hiragana, young learner, language acquisition

Abstract

Educational Media is a determining factor in achieving the success of the learning process, especially in e-learning. E-learning is something new for teachers in Indonesia, especially Japanese high school and vocational high school teachers in Bali. There may be problems arising in the preparation and use of educational media. Therefore, it is important to know how the teacher determines the media in Japanese e-learning and teachers' perceptions of the use of these media. To obtain answers to these questions, a purposive online survey was conducted, followed by descriptive analysis. The survey was conducted on 117 Japanese high school and vocational high school teachers in Bali. The determination of the online learning platform is based on the results of discussions between related parties in education, especially students and teachers. The selection of educational media (teaching material) is tailored to the needs of delivering materials and the student conditions. Regarding teachers' perceptions of the use of media, there are differences in terms of the criteria for the gender of the teacher and the hours of experience of the teacher. Meanwhile, in the education level criteria, there is no difference in the perception of the teacher.
