Abstract

It turns out that the large opportunity for using social media as product promotion cannot be fully utilized by UMKM. Most of them do not understand the benefits and important role of online media, have difficulty creating attractive promotional image content, have limited knowledge of application technology, and have limited creativity in graphic design. Attractive promotional content is one of the main keys to digital marketing. Canva is an application technology that offers convenience in graphic design. The existence of the Canva application can certainly be utilized by UMKM in creating image content as product promotion because its use is relatively easy. Implementation of community service activities is carried out face to face using digital learning methods and active learning using project based learning as additional media. This activity was attended by the community as UMKM actors under the auspices of the 26 Ilir Literacy Village, Palembang City.

Abstract

Abstract. Coconut plants in areas that experience ebb and flow cycles and waterlogging face several obstacles if not managed optimally. For this reason, appropriate cultivation extension and introduction of optimal planting patterns to be able to increase maximum income from coconut farming are very necessary. The results showed an increase in farmers' understanding of intercropping knowledge increased from 36.4% (4 people) to 90.9% (10 people), understanding of the benefits increased from 27.3% (3 people) to 81.8% (9 people), and belief in the economic value of intercropping increased from 45.5% (5 people) to 72.7% (8 people). As many as 10 out of 11 farmers expressed interest in implementing land optimization through intercropping techniques, although one farmer was still hesitant due to limited capital, age of the farmer, and age of the plants that no longer allow for adaptation to new cultivation methods. The extension activities that have been carried out have succeeded in changing farmers' perceptions and interests, opening up opportunities for increasing farmer productivity and income. For sustainability, extension activities are needed according to needs, namely training and knowledge in market analysis and field practice.

Abstract

Abstract

This community service aimed to increase the understanding of the management, members and the community about the importance of the role of Pangeran Jaya Cooperative in strengthening the economy by choosing and running a business in accordance with the wants and needs of the members and the community of Ogan Komering Ilir District. The service activities were carried out at Pangeran Jaya Cooperative, Talang Pangeran Village, Teluk Gelam Subdistrict, Ogan Komering Ilir District. The location of the study was selected purposively. The method used counseling and interactive discussions with all participants to increase their understanding on the important role of Pangeran Jaya Cooperative both as business partners and partners in meeting family needs. The study found out that during its establishment from 2015 to 2022, Pangeran Jaya Cooperative did not carry out the role and function of its cooperative business (category E/inactive), lack of knowledge and understanding of the management and members. The business run by the cooperative was not in accordance with the needs of members and the lack of accountability and transparency of the management showed that it never held an annual member meeting (RAT) resulting in the non-running of the cooperative. In an effort to revitalize the Cooperative, capacity building is needed for both cooperative institutions and human resources to increase the service capacity and develop partnership cooperation with other institutions/business entities.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the importance of exploring traders' preferences in purchasing pineapples from farmers as an effort to strengthen the marketing chain and increase the competitiveness of local pineapple products in Senuro Village. The purpose of this study was to identify the factors that influence traders' decisions in purchasing pineapples in Senuro Village, Tanjung Batu District, Ogan Ilir Regency. This study used a survey method with a descriptive approach, involving four traders as samplings who were selected purposively. Data were collected through structured interviews using questionnaires, then analyzed descriptively and qualitatively to interpret patterns of trader preferences. The results showed five main factors that influence traders' decisions, namely quality, supply continuity, price, trust and relationships, and marketing risk. Quality is the most dominant factor because it is directly related to the fruit grading system, selling value, and market acceptance. Supply continuity is also important to maintain business stability, especially for traders who supply to markets outside the region. Price plays a secondary role after quality is met. In addition, trust between farmers and traders and the ability to manage marketing risks also influence the sustainability or strengthening of cooperative relationships.

Abstract

The agricultural sector's sustainability is seriously threatened by climate change, especially in vulnerable places like Perigi Village, which is primarily made up of peatlands. Due to a lack of knowledge about climate change adaptation and mitigation, farmers face decreasing productivity, seasonal uncertainty, and the risk of land fires. Through training, outreach, technical support, and the use of basic technologies based on climate-smart agriculture, the Climate-Smart Agriculture Farmers Education and Action Movement programme seeks to increase farmer capacity. Extension, hands-on training, agrosilvofishery systems, educational media, and the formation of Climate-Smart Agriculture Farmers Groups are some of the techniques employed. The program's results demonstrate a significant increase in farmer knowledge, the ability to apply adaptive techniques, and the creation of regional organisations that support collective efforts to reduce climate risks. This activity has an educational, social, ecological, and economic impact on the community and can be replicated as a model for village empowerment. This curriculum emphasises the importance of collaboration between academics, village administrations, and farmers in order to create sustainable agriculture and community resilience to climate change.
