Abstract

Abstract. Learning Community in Learning English Speaking Skills High School Class XII LPP Umi Makassar. One of the methods that can be applied in an effort to develop students' ability to speak is learning community (community learning and studying together). Learning community is a concept of creating shared learning in school, the learning process between teachers and teachers, teachers and students, students with students, and even among the school community with the community outside the school. This study aimed to describe the extent to which the effectiveness of the learning community in learning English speaking skills high school students of class XII LPP UMI Makassar measured using desaian research that is experimental type of pretest-posttest control group design experiments. Furthermore, data were collected using observation and oral tests were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results showed that the learning community is effectively used in improving the skills of English speaking high school students of class XII LPP UMI Makassar. It is based on the results of data analysis showed that the average test speaking skills of students who take classes that implement the learning in the learning community is higher than the results of the test speaking skills of students who take the learning in the classroom learning community that does not apply.

Abstract

The writer is interested in examining directive discourse between lecture and studentsin indonesian learning process as general subject in indonesia muslim university. The problem statement of this research is how the politeness forms from lecturer to students, students to lecturer, and students to students in Indonesian Language Subject at Universitas Muslim Indonesia.  The purpose of this study is to describe the form of politeness in the interaction of lecturers to students, students to lecturers, and students to students. This study focused on lecturers who teach general Indonesian language subject at the Faculty of Letters and first semester students, especially those who program general subject in Indonesian. The collected data will be analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. Based on the results of the research found, forms of language politeness in the interaction of lecturers to students in the form of declarative sentences,namely obeying the maxim of wisdom, praise, and agreement; interrogative sentences, namely obeying the maxim of wisdom; imperative sentence, namely obeying the maxim of wisdom; the exclamation sentence, namely obeying the maxim of wisdom; and language politeness in the interaction of students to lecturers in the form of declarative sentences, namely obeying the maxim of generosity and agreement; interrogative sentences, namely obeying the maxim of generosity; the exclamation sentence, namely obeying the maxim of wisdom; and the form of politeness in the interaction of students to students in the form of declarative sentences, namely the maxim of wisdom, generosity, agreement and sympathy; interrogative sentences, namely the maxim of wisdom and sympathy; imperative sentence, namely the maxim of wisdom; exclamation sentence, namely the maxim of wisdom. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the use of politeness in the formal setting is very useful for people's lives, including in the education side.

Abstract

This study aims at describing the types of problems experienced by students while participating in online learning, online learning media that students prefer, and evaluation of the implementation of online learning according to students at the Indonesian Muslim University during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study uses a survey method. The research sample is the students of the Faculty of Letters. The data collection technique used in this study is Google form questionnaire and analyzed by using quantitative descriptive statistics. The results show that the types of problems experienced by students while participating in online learning are generally caused by two factors, namely internal factors: unable to focus on attending lectures, problem on internet network, lack of cost to buy internet quota, and external factors: class schedules change frequently, the use of less effective learning media, redundant assignments. Online learning media that are generally preferred by students are Zoom Meeting, UMI Kalam e-Learning, and WhatsApp. According to students, some points that need to be evaluated in online learning include: lecturers often change class schedules and immediately organize face-to-face learning, lecturer learning strategies are less effective, giving excessive assignments, internet connections often in problems, students need to receive internet quota fund, and lecturers are still less skill in using digital learning media.

Abstract

Seorang penulis tidak hanya dituntut untuk menguasai permasalahan yang akan ditulisnya, mealinkan harus menguasai unsur-unsur pokok dari menulis. Strategi image streaming dapat dijadikan sebagai strategi yang efektif dan sesuai jika digunakan dalam pembelajaran menulis narasi dalam bentuk teks cerpen.Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian pra-eksperimental dengan desain penelitian One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Teknik yang digunakan dalam mengumpulkan data adalah teknik tes tertulis yang dibagi menjadi dua yaitu pretest dan posttest. Dari hasil pretest penulisan cerpen mahasiswa, didapatkan hasil bahwa nilai yang telah diperoleh seorang mahasiswa sangat bervariasi dan rata-rata nilai yang telah diperoleh mahasiswa tersebut sebelum menerapkan strategi image streaming berada pada kategori kurang terampil. Sehingga, setelah mendapatkan perlakuan, mahasiswa lalu diberikan posttest. Posttest yang diberikan bertujuan untuk mengetahui keterampilan menulis narasi dalam bentuk teks cerpen setelah mendaptkan perlakuan. Nilai dari keterampilan menulis narasi dalam bentuk teks cerpen telah mengalami peningkatan setelah mendapat perlakuan dan nilai rata-rata yang telah diperoleh mahasiswa berada pada kategori cukup terampil. Dengan demikian, uji hipotesis pada tabel tes statistik menunjukkan nilai signifikansi pretest dan posttest sebesar 0,000. Terlihat bahwa nilai tersebut <0,05, maka disimpulkan strategi image streaming ini dapat berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan menulis narasi dalam bentuk teks cerpen. Penelitian ini menunjukkan hasil belajar mahasiswa dalam menulis narasi dalam bentuk teks cerpen telah mengalami peningkatan nilai dari posttest dapat terlihat lebih tinggi dibandingkan nilai pada pretest yang terbilang sangat rendah.

Abstract

Indonesian language learning in schools is directed at improving students’ language skills, bothin the aspects of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Speaking is one of the language skillsthat is vulnerable in relation to spoken ethics. Language ethics is defined as a normative rule oflanguage use which becomes a general guideline agreed by the language user community thatsuch a method is recognized as a language that is polite, respectful, and in accordance with thevalues that apply in society. Someone who is skilled at speaking must consider what will be saidbefore speaking. It is not wrong if the saying goes that language is someone’s personal mirror.The phrase shows that a person’s personality can be judged by his speech in language. Formany people, good words, gentle, polite, will portray someone as a good person and virtuouscharacter. Conversely, rude and bad words will also cause a bad image in the person. On thatbasis, Indonesian speech ethics has an important role in learning in schools which also contributes to the student’s character education curriculum.

Abstract

Pedagogic competence is one of the four competencies that needs to be developed on an ongoing basis by a teacher, especially in educational developments that demand strengthening the profile of Pancasila learners who are able to think critically and have character. To deal with this, the demands of 21st century teacher competence can be handled through Lesson Study (LS). LS is teacher development assistance which is considered quite effective as a forum for collaboration between fellow study teachers to develop learning tools with the stages of plan, do and see. The purpose of this research is to find out how Lesson Study implementation of the pedagogic competence of English teachers at SMPN 23 Makassar. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The research was carried out at UPT SPF SMPN 23 Makassar in semester I (one) of the 2022/2023 academic year. Before the research was carried out, researchers and teachers discussed in advance about the process of implementing learning with the Lesson Study platform, the timeline of activities and agreed subject matter topics. The research subject was English teachers at SMPN 23 Makassar who acted as model teacher. The research instrument used was in the form of teacher observation sheets, namely: English teacher pedagogical competency observation sheets and observation sheets for the implementation of Lesson Study. The teacher's pedagogical competence increased from good to very good criteria after going through the Lesson Study stages, especially in the aspects of mastering student characteristics, mastery of learning theories and principles, and communication/interaction in class. In order for the teacher's pedagogical competence to remain of high quality and controlled, the Lesson Study for Learning Community needs to be organized by the school leadership as a forum for continuing teacher competency development.

Abstract

Being a professional teachers is required a number of requirements, such as having an adequate professional education qualification and actively developing themselves through classroom action research activities. Meanwhile, Classroom Action Research activities by most teachers are considered as something difficult and confusing, including for teachers at MTs Mizanul ‘Ulum Sanrobone Takalar District who are community service partners. For this reason, as a solution to these problems, Classroom Action Research Training is conducted. The method used in this activity is the training method. Participants who were targeted partners were 25 teachers. In its implementation, the training takes place in three stages, namely preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The results of this training activity were carried out well and smoothly. The training carried out also produced a Classroom Action Research Guidelines that could be used teachers as a guide in preparing Classroom Action Research. In addition, the training received a positive response from the teachers. This is evidenced from the results of the training evaluation questionnaire analysis which showed that as many as 64% of participants gave a very useful category response. Thus, this Classroom Action Research Training can improve the motivation, knowledge and skills of MTs Mizanul ‘Ulum Sanrobone teachers in Takalar District in conducting Classroom Action Research. Keywords: Classroom Action Research, TeacherABSTRAK Menjadi guru yang profesional dituntut dengan sejumlah persyaratan, seperti memiliki kualifikasi pendidikan profesi yang memadai dan aktif melakukan pengembangan diri melalui kegiatan penelitian tindakan kelas. Sementara, kegiatan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas oleh sebagian besar guru dianggap sebagai sesuatu yang sulit dan membingungkan, termasuk bagi guru-guru di MTs Mizanul ‘Ulum Sanrobone Kabupaten Takalar yang menjadi mitra pengabdian masyarakat ini. Untuk itu, sebagai solusi atas permasalahan tersebut, dilakukan Pelatihan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah metode pelatihan. Peserta yang menjadi mitra sasar sebanyak 25 guru. Dalam pelaksanaannya, pelatihan berlangsung dalam tiga tahapan, yakni persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan pelatihan ini terlaksana dengan baik dan lancar. Pelatihan yang dilaksanakan juga menghasilkan Pedoman Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang dapat dijadikan para guru sebagai panduan dalam menyusun Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Selain itu, pelaksanaan pelatihan mendapat respons positif dari para guru. Hal ini dibuktikan dari hasil analisis kuesioner evaluasi pelatihan yang menunjukkan sebanyak 64% peserta memberikan respons kategori yang sangat bermanfaat. Dengan demikian, Pelatihan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas ini dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan, motivasi dan keterampilan guru MTs Mizanul ‘Ulum Sanrobone Kabupaten Takalar dalam menyusun Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Abstract

Permasalahan mitra, Madrasah Tsanawiyah Wihdatul Ulum Bontokassi Kabupaten Gowa, dalam pengabdian ini adalah implementasi Gerakan Literasi Sekolah belum berjalan optimal dan Pojok Baca sebagai sarana penunjang Gerakan Literasi Sekolah juga belum tersedia. Selain itu, guru dan peserta didik belum memahami secara mendalam terkait tahapan implementasi Gerakan Literasi Sekolah. Untuk itu, solusi yang diterapkan adalah pembuatan Pojok Baca Kelas dan memberikan materi program Gerakan Literasi Sekolah. Metode pelaksanaan yang digunakan adalah sosialisasi, penyuluhan, dan aplikasi program. Pada kegiatan sosialisasi, diberikan motivasi literasi kepada peserta didik. Kegiatan penyuluhan, diberikan materi implementasi dan tahapan program Gerakan Literasi Sekolah kepada guru dan pustakawan. Dan pada kegiatan aplikasi program, dilakukan pembuatan pojok baca kelas. Berdasarkan realisasi kegiatan pengabdian yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan hasil yang berdampak positif terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan mitra terkait program Gerakan Literasi Sekolah dan telah tersedianya sarana literasi Pojok Baca di sekolah. Peningkatan pengetahuan mitra tersebut terutama terkait langkah-langkah atau tahapan dalam mengimplementasikan program Gerakan Literasi Sekolah, tumbuhnya motivasi dan minat baca peserta didik, serta pemanfaatan sudut ruangan kelas sebagai sarana literasi berupa pojok baca.

Abstract

Application of the Numbered Head Together Type Cooperative Learning Model to Increase Student Learning Activeness in Indonesian Language Learning Class X MIPA SMA Negeri 12 Makassar The research aims to determine the process and results of applying active speaking students in class X MIPA SMA Negeri 12 Makassar and to find out the results of increasing students' speaking activeness class X MIPA 4 SMA Negeri 12 Makassar uses the Numbered Head Together cooperative learning model. This research is a classroom action research, there are two cycles in its implementation. Each cycle has four stages, namely planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The subjects of this study were 25 students of class X MIPA 4 SMA Negeri 12 Makassar. Data collection is done by test. In the planning stages of cycle I and cycle II, the learning implementation is the same, the difference is in the learning steps. If the learning steps carried out in cycle I are not optimal or have an effect on the achievement of learning outcomes, then cycle II student achievement is better or said to be complete with the learning outcomes achieved after the application of the cooperative learning model shows the results that in cycle I completeness is 70% and in cycle II completely classical by 89% of students who are active in speaking. The conclusion from the results of this study is that the Numbered Head Together learning model can increase student learning activity in Indonesian language class X MIPA 4 SMA Negeri 12 Makassar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh penggunaan teknologi dan media sosial youtube terhadap proses belajar siswa Kelas XI IPS 1 SMAN 1 Bantaeng. Jenis penelitian yang di gunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi, lembar kusioner, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa  kelas  XI IPS 1 Sebanyak 30 siswa dengan menggunakan teknik simple random sampling yang diukur dengan taraf kesalahan 5%. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data sebaran variabel menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh penggunaan media sosial terhadap hasil belajar siswa mencapai 66,7% sehingga penggunaan teknologi dan media sosial youtube berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Berdasarkan analisis data tingkat penggunaan teknologi dan media sosial youtube berada dalam kategori sedang  dan diperoleh 28,4%. Hal ini diketahui melalui hasil perhitungan menggunakan SPSS 20 Fhitung (0,799) > Ftabel (0,03) sehingga hipotesis (H1) dalam penelitian ini diterima atau berpengaruh. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa hipotesis penelitian ini berada pada kategori sedang atau normal yang artinya dalam penelitian ini dianggap baik karena siswa menggunakan teknologi dan media sosial youtube kearah yang  positif dalam pembelajaran.
