Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of immersion variations on the Durability of Intermediate Laston Mixtures. The methodology in this research is to design the specimens using Salassa River aggregate with a composition of 5.00% asphalt content with variations of immersion 0.5 hours, 24 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours, 96 hours. Marshall Immersion Test to get the Durability value due to variations in immersion The results showed that the durability of the asphalt mixture will decrease if it is submerged in water for too long and changes in temperature. Stability of the mixture will decrease if it is submerged in water for too long. The greatest stability is 1394.17 Kg, which means it meets the minimum specification standard of 800 kg. The flow of the asphalt mixture will change its plastic shape due to prolonged immersion. The largest flow value is 2.70. Flow on the asphalt mixture meets the standard specifications of 2-4 mm. The durability value for various immersions in the mixture of Laston Lapis Antara was the largest at 97.44% at 24 hour immersion, the smallest value at 80.62%. The limit of immersion tolerance is 48 hours with a value of 94.59%.

Abstract

This study was intended to determine the characteristics of the mixture of intermediate layers of concrete with the addition of styrofoam waste in the mixture of intermediate layers of concrete. The composition of the mixture of intermediate lasts and Marshall test to get the characteristics of the mixture of intermediate layers of concrete with the addition of straw ash Styrofoam waste as a cement filler substitution. The results of testing the characteristics of the Asphalt Concrete – Binder Course (AC-BC) mixture using Styrofoam waste added material through the Conventional Marshall test, namely if the Styrofoam waste content is 1%, then the VIM, VMA, and Flow values decrease at each Styrofoam waste level, while for Stability and VFB values always increase at each level of Styrofoam waste. The Marshall Immersion test results obtained a Stability value of the mixture that could withstand Immersion for 24 hours.

Abstract

Several factors that can affect road damage are excessive traffic load, temperature (weather), water, and pavement construction that does not meet the technical requirements. The durability of an asphalt mixture is the resistance of the mixture to the effects of water, water vapor, and temperature. A mixture with a high durability value provides a good mix quality and long-term use. The purpose of this study was to determine the durability of the AC-BC mixture using Mount Baba stone. The general specifications of Bina Marga in 2018 are the reference in this study. By using the standard Marshall test method, the results obtained through the Marshall AC-BC mixture immersion test with a duration of immersion time of 0.5 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours, 36 hours, 48 hours, 60 hours with a durability value of 95.49% - 86.99%. The increase in immersion time causes a decrease in the durability of the mixture.

Abstract

The problem of the quality of the asphalt mixture, especially on the surface layer, is a matter that really needs to be considered because a poor asphalt mixture will cause the surface layer on the road to be damaged quickly or not in accordance with the expected service period. This research was conducted to test the AC-WC mixture with added waste tires. The research methodology uses the Conventional Marshall method to obtain the characteristics of the AC-WC mixture and Marshall Immersion to obtain the Marshall Residual Stability value. The results show that the characteristics of the AC-WC mixture meet the 2018 Highways Specifications. The results of the Marshall Immersion test with an optimum 4% used tire content obtained a Marshall Stability value of 94.64% and the effect of adding used tire rubber will make the cavities in the mixture smaller thus the mixture can be resistant to water.

Abstract

The rapid development of road infrastructure increases the need for materials to be used, including the use of aggregates. This study aims to examine the use of aggregate from the Sewan River in Sarmi Regency as an asphalt mixture. In this study by conducting several tests such as checking the characteristics of course (stone), fine (sand), filler and asphalt characteristics. After that, a mixture of asphalt composition (AC-WC) was made and then the Marshall test was carried out to obtain the properties of the mixture. The results of testing the composition of the AC-WC mixture obtained the composition of the mixture for the optimum asphalt content of 7.50%, coarse aggregate 36.75%, fine aggregate 50.00%, and filler 5.75%. This shows that the aggregate characteristics of the Sewan river for the AC-WC mixture with the conventional Marshall method that meet the 2018 General Specifications of Highways are stability (Asphalt content 4.00%-11.00%), Flow (Asphalt content 4.00%-11 0.00%), VIM (asphalt content 4.00%-7.50%), VMA (asphalt content 5.75%-11.00%) and VFB (asphalt content 5.75%-11.00%). As for the Marshall Immersion test, the remaining Marshall stability value is 95.15%.

Abstract

The implementation of road pavement construction so far has used materials imported from other places, and most of the road pavement constructions have been damaged before reaching the design life, so maintenance is carried out and even additional coating is given. This study aims to test the characteristics of the mixture of Laston Lapis Antara by utilizing Sungai Pucak aggregate according to laboratory tests. The research method is the Conventional Marshall test which is used to determine the KAO, then the manufacture of the KAO test object to obtain the Marshall Remaining Stability (SMS). The results showed that the characteristics of the aggregates originating from the Pucak River, Maros Regency for the Laston Lapis Antara mixture were in accordance with the General Specifications of Highways in 2018. The results of the characteristic test of the conventional Marshall mixture obtained that the values of stability, flow, VIM, VMA, and VFB all met the General Bina specifications. Marga in 2018. The Marshall Immersion test has complied with the 2018 General Highways specifications, where the value is 95.56%≥90%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the characteristics the mixture of intermediate layers using straw ash as a substitute for cement filler. The method in this research is to test the characteristics of the straw ash, then design the composition of the intermediate lastton mix, as well as the marshall test to obtain the characteristics of the intermediate layer of lastton using straw ash as a cement filler substitution. Where the ash content of straw used as a substitute for cement filler is 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% of the weight of cement filler. The results showed that the stability, Flow, VIM, VMA, and VFB at 0%, 25%, 50% straw ash content met the 2018 bina marga specifications, while VMA at 75% straw ash content did not meet the 2018 bina marga specifications, and VMA, VFB at 100% straw ash content also does not meet the 2018 bina marga specifications.
