Abstract

This study aims to develop a learning model of Youtube-Based Learning to facilitate the learning habits of digital-age students. This research used the research and development method. The research steps were analysis of potential and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revisions, limited implementation test, revisions, implementation tests, revisions, and mass production. Subject research was the students of class XI of Light Vehicle Engineering at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Playen. Research data collection used closed questionnaire, open questionnaire, and integrated with interviews and observations. The data analysis technique used the effect size test. The results showed that the validity of Youtube-Based Learning included in the very feasible category to apply. The contribution given by Youtube-Based Learning on student learning outcomes was 58%. Other results showed that students and teachers gave positive responses to the learning model of Youtube-Based Learning.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the condition of not maximizing assignment activities in learning in higher education. The purpose of this study was to analyze the tendency of student choices towards Youtube-based assignment formats or essay-based assignments. This research is a comparative research with mixed methods method. The respondents of this study were Cosmetology and Beauty students of Universitas Negeri Padang. The results of the study described 87.5% of respondents choosing the YouTube-based assignment format for reasons related to freedom of space to express ideas and imagination, increased motivation and novelty of the assignment concept, increased understanding, challenges, and flexibility of assignment access. 2.5% of respondents chose the essay-based assignment format due to limited skills and supporting tools in terms of video editing. Furthermore, 10% of respondents chose a combination of Youtube-based assignments and essays for the reasons of excellence of each assignment format. AbstrakPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kondisi belum maksimalnya kegiatan penugasan dalam pembelajaran di perguruan tinggi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis feasibility of Youtube-based assessment format as well as analyzing kecenderungan pilihan mahasiswa terhadap format penugasan berbasis Youtube atau penugasan berbasis esai. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian komparatif dengan metode mixed methods. Pengumpulan data penelitian menggunakan angket dan juga wawancara terstruktur. Analisis data menggunakan analisis kuantitatif deskriptif dan juga kualitatif deskriptif. Responden penelitian ini adalah mahasiswi Tata Rias dan Kecantikan Univeritas Negeri Padang. Hasil penelitian mendeskripsikan 87,5% responden memilih format penugasan berbasis Youtube dengan alasan terkait kebebasan ruang untuk menuangkan ide dan imajinasi, peningkatan motivasi dan kebaruan konsep penugasan, peningkatan pemahaman, tantangan, dan fleksibilitas akses penugasan. 2,5% responden memilih format penugasan berbasis esai dengan alasan keterbatasan skill dan perangkat pendukung dalam hal editing video. Selanjutnya, 10% responden memilih kombinasi penugasan berbasis Youtube dan esai dengan alasan keunggulan dari masing-masing format penugasan.

Abstract

The competency of theatrical makeup is indispensable in the digital learning era, however achieving theatrical makeup competency is still facing barriers and challenges. This research aims to analyze variables influencing theatrical makeup competency achievement. A quantitative survey used as a research method and questionnaire used for collecting data. Respondents are 105 students of Makeup and Beauty Department. Data was analyzed using Structural Equation Model-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) with Smart PLS 4.0 software. The prerequisite analysis describe that the measurement model is valid and reliable. Study result describe that project-based learning has a positive and significant impact on theatrical makeup competency with the high effect category. Furthermore, tutorial videos exhibit a positive yet insignificant impact on theatrical makeup competency with low-effect category. Additionally, learning style has a positive and significant effect on theatrical makeup competency with the high-effect range. Learning style as mediator variable performs full mediation in both variable correlations. This result provides alternative factors supporting competency achievement.
