Abstract

The Covid-19 situation has forced the education system to adjust to remote or online learning. Social restriction and lockdown policies caused schools and universities to be closed to avoid the spread of the virus. This study aims to analyse the implementation of e-learning systems in distance education management during the Covid-19 pandemic, with a little focus on the factors that affect the success of implementation and student performance in distance learning. The focus here is on qualitative analysis. Listening to and recording pertinent information was an integral part of data collection, which was followed by data reduction, data display, and inference. This study found that the implementation of an e-learning system in distance education management during the COVID-19 pandemic is an important step that needs to be taken to ensure the continuity of education and the health of students and teaching staff. The e-learning system provides flexibility in learning and allows students to stay connected with teaching staff despite limited face-to-face interaction.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to calculate Indonesia's electronic export potential to 14 countries during the period 2007-2022 using a panel-gravity approach using the PPML technique. The results of this study confirm the positive and significant relationship between Indonesia's electronics exports and the main component of the gravity model, namely Indonesia's GDP and trading partners. Another variability is the economic openness of trading partners has a positive relationship and exchange rates have a positive but not significant relationship. Variability of distance, and trade agreements have a negative relationship with Indonesia's electronic exports. The results for electronic export potential show that Indonesian electronics still have a lot of leverage to increase its exports to 9 countries. Thus, the position of the electronics industry as a potential industry can be carried out by targeting these countries. But to capitalize on the potential benefits of electronics exports, policymakers need to strengthen infrastructure and regulations related to the electronics industry.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the competitiveness of Indonesian and Cambodian footwear in the global market. Indonesia’s export value increased over the year, but in 2019 it significantly decreased. The footwear industry has grown negatively since 2019, and during the pandemic, the growth rate is -8.76%. In contrast, since 2019, Cambodia has become the 10th world's footwear exporter. It is undoubtedly a threat to Indonesia, so it is necessary to make various strategies to increase Indonesia's competitiveness. Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) and Export Dynamic Product (EPD) methods measure the competitive position. This study uses secondary data in the form of annual export from 2011 to 2020. The results show that Indonesia has a comparative advantage over the world but is moderate, with an RCA value of 3.81. Cambodia has more competitively than Indonesia, with an RCA index of 8.22. Even though in 2020 it experienced negative growth, Indonesia's footwear both comparatively and competitively increased. The RCA index value increases and the EPD is in the best position, "the rising star". Indonesian products have high market attractiveness and market share in the global.
