Abstract

Human resources play a vital role in the sustainability of industries and organizations. As such, human resource management (HRM) is responsible for providing competent workforce, maintaining its quality, and managing labor costs efficiently. One of the key challenges faced by organizations today is the high turnover intention among employees particularly within Generation Z, which is known for having distinct characteristics and expectations compared to previous generations. This study aims to examine the influence of transformational leadership on turnover intention among Generation Z employees, with organizational commitment serving as a mediating variable. Data were collected through a survey involving 193 Generation Z employees working at Company ABC. The analysis was conducted using path analysis techniques. The results indicate a significant indirect effect of transformational leadership on turnover intention through organizational commitment, with a coefficient of -0.135. This suggests that transformational leadership can meaningfully reduce employees’ intention to leave, particularly when it fosters stronger commitment to the organization. Furthermore, the findings confirm that organizational commitment effectively mediates the relationship between transformational leadership and turnover intention. These insights offer valuable implications for organizational management in addressing turnover issues among Generation Z employees especially by cultivating a workplace environment that promotes transformational leadership development. Abstract

Abstract

In 2024, Generation Z accounted for 8% of the total number of civil servants (ASN) in Indonesia, totaling 312,870 employees. Previous studies have indicated differences in work values between Generation Z and earlier generations. These differences may lead Generation Z employees to avoid engaging in Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB), even though OCB is a crucial indicator of organizational performance. This study aims to examine OCB among Generation Z civil servants, with self-efficacy as the predictor variable and job satisfaction as the mediating variable. The participants consisted of 302 Generation Z civil servants working in the provincial government of Region XYZ. A purposive sampling technique was used for participant selection. Data were collected using three instruments: an OCB scale, a self-efficacy scale, and a job satisfaction scale. Data were analyzed using the Partial Least Squares – Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method. The results showed that both self-efficacy and job satisfaction had a positive and significant influence on OCB. All hypotheses in this study were supported. These findings highlight the important role of self-efficacy and job satisfaction in enhancing OCB among Generation Z civil servants.

Abstract

There are many early adult women who choose to maintain their relationships even after violence has occurred. The attitude of individuals who survive in violent relationships is called stockholm syndrome. This condition does not just happen to victims of violence, there are causal factors and supportive attachment patterns in individuals. Secure attachment individuals can build positive schemas for themselves and others so that they will avoid the tendency to stay in violent relationships. This study aims to determine the relationship between secure attachment and the tendency of stockholm syndrome in female victims of dating violence. The sampling technique in this study used purposive sampling technique and obtained 94 participants. Data collection in this study used measuring tools made by the researcher including the stockholm syndrome scale based on Graham's theory, the secure attachment scale based on Collins and Feeney's theory and the dating violence scale based on Murray's theory. Data analysis using the spearman rho non-parametric correlation technique, which shows that there is a highly significant negative relationship between secure attachment and the tendency of stockholm syndrome (r=-0.271; p=0.008) which means that the higher the secure attachment in female victims of dating violence, the lower the tendency of stockholm syndrome.

Abstract

Previous studies have demonstrated that character strength significantly influences students’ future success, with the dimension of humanity being a central aspect of individual character. This study aimed to examine the relationship between family functioning and students’ character strengths, with spirituality serving as a mediating variable. Addressing a gap in existing literature, this research highlights the dual influence of environmental and internal factors in the development of character strength—whereas previous studies have predominantly focused on external determinants alone. A total of 317 junior high school students participated in the study by completing an online questionnaire. The instruments used included the Values in Action Inventory for Youth (VIA-Youth), the Aspects of Spirituality (ASP) Questionnaire, and the Family Assessment Device (FAD). Data were analyzed using JASP (Jeffrey’s Amazing Statistical Program). The findings revealed that spirituality significantly mediated the relationship between family functioning and character strength (β = 0.070, SE = 0.013, p < 0.001). Notably, the direct effect of family functioning on character strength (β = 0.158, SE = 0.023, p < 0.001) was lower than the total effect when the mediator was included (β = 0.228, SE = 0.024, p < 0.001). These findings underscore the importance of spirituality as an internal mechanism that promotes prosocial behavior and contributes to the development of students’ character strengths. Additionally, positive family functioning plays a foundational role in shaping students’ intrinsic values and moral dispositions. The implications of this study support efforts to strengthen human development policies and interventions aimed at fostering resilient and virtuous youth capable of adapting to future societal challenges.
