Abstract

Indonesia is an agrarian country rich in agricultural commodities, one of which is dragon fruit. Dragon fruit has high economic value and health benefits. However, the productivity of dragon fruit plants is greatly influenced by the duration and intensity of sunlight, which becomes a challenge during the rainy season or days with low light intensity. This study aims to design an automatic lighting control system based on a microcontroller with On/Off scheduling features to support dragon fruit cultivation in Krajan Village, Yosomulyo Village, Banyuwangi Regency. This system utilises Internet of Things (IoT) technology and the NTP protocol for time synchronisation, enabling real-time monitoring of sensors and lighting control without direct user intervention. The method used involved the design and testing of the microcontroller from January to February 2025. Test results indicate that the use of yellow LED lights can enhance flowering and plant growth by extending photosynthesis duration, particularly at night. Thus, this system effectively increases dragon fruit productivity and quality while providing an efficient solution for farmers facing natural lighting limitations.

Abstract

This study designs an Internet of Things (IoT)-based monitoring system for 2 kW induction and 2 kW LPG stoves, supporting Indonesia's 2060 Net Zero Emission energy transition policy. Utilizing Arduino Mega 2560 with ESP8266, PZEM-004T sensor, K-type thermocouple, load cell, and Blynk platform, the system provides real-time monitoring of voltage, current, power, temperature, gas mass, and operating time. Data is accessible via a mobile application and stored on an SD card for analysis. Safety features include remote electricity/gas cut-off and active stove notifications. Testing reveals the induction stove's higher efficiency, heating 400 ml of cooking oil in 193 seconds with 0.06 kWh, compared to the LPG stove's 281 seconds with 19.18 grams of gas. Operational cost analysis indicates the induction stove is more economical (Rp 101.97) than subsidized LPG (Rp 159.87), suggesting a more favorable long-term investment for induction technology. By facilitating data collection, remote control, and review, the proposed system allows for evaluation of both technical and economic efficiencies. This study offers an IoT based technical solution and economic assessment that support the national policy shift toward induction stove.

Abstract

The limited availability of fossil fuel reserves and the fact that their formation takes millions of years have driven the accelerated adoption of electric vehicles as a strategic step to reduce carbon emissions. Bali, as one of the leading regions in the clean energy transition, requires adequate infrastructure support, particularly charging stations as the main facilities for electric vehicles, whose development must take into account proper location selection and design. This study focuses on the design and location selection of battery swapping stations for electric motorcycles (SPBKLU) in South Bali, including three-dimensional designs and electrical layouts, as well as location determination using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method by evaluating potential sites. The results of this study are one optimal location for SPBKLU installation, accompanied by a three-dimensional design suited to the site’s characteristics and the SPBKLU’s electrical layout. In the future, it is expected to serve as a study and reference for the development of electric vehicle infrastructure in Bali, accelerating public adaptation to this technology.
